About me: I was formerly anonymous from the day I joined til now 9/8/09. I couldn't think of a good name for myself that wasn't already being used so I decided to use the name of my favorite poem.

The poem teaches us that no matter what our lot in life be it a worthless drunkard and bum with no ambitions or hope for a brighter futuere or a Captain of industry who can buy and sell just about anything they wish, every soul has some worth and value in the eyes of The Master, Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I first came across this beautiful piece of literature in mid November of 1984 on my first day in the field as a Misssionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon) in the California Ventura Mission. It was one of the first poems I memorized and used to be able to cite on command. Now I'm getting old and forget alot of stuff lol.

I'm 47 and currently single by choice. I lost the girl I wanted to spend my remaining years with at 7:12 p.m. on Friday,November 14,2008 to complications of cancer. It has not been easy dealing with losing her but I have been handling it far better than anyone thought I would. I credit that to my faith in my Heavenly Father and the attoning sacrifice made by his son My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I know that even though she is not here anymore that I will once again be reunited with her in Heaven when I pass from this mortal existence.

On September 2,2009 I started the 1st of my final 2 semesters as a senior at a well known university for my bachelors degree and plan to pursue a Masters in Business Administration starting next Fall.

Anything else you want to know just ask. For the benefit of those who have not had the opportunity to read the beautiful poem which my user name is after I have posted it below.

The Touch of the Master's Hand

"Twas battered and scared, and the auctioneer
Thought it scarcely worth his while
To waste much time on the old violin,
But he held it up with a smile.
"What am I bidden, good folks," he cried,
"Who'll start bidding for me?
A dollar, a dollar - now who"ll make it two _
Two dollars, and who"ll make it three?

"Three dollars once, three dollars twice,
Going for three". . . but no!
From the room far back a gray-haired man
Came forward and picked up the bow;
Then wiping the dust from the old violin,
And tightening up the strings,
He played a melody, pure and sweet,
As sweet as an angel sings.

The music ceased and the auctioneer
With a voice that was quiet and low,
Said: "What am I bidden for the old violin?"
And he held it up with the bow;
"A thousand dollars - and who'll make it two?
Two thousand - and who'll make it three?
Three thousand once, three thousand twice
And going - and gone," said he.

The people cheered, but some of them cried,
"We do not quite understand -
What changed its worth?" The man replied:
"The touch of the masters hand."
And many a man with life out of tune,
And battered and torn with sin,
Is auctioned cheap to a thoughtless crowd.
Much like the old violin.

A "mess of pottage," a glass of wine,
A game and he travels on,
He's going once, and going twice -
He's going - and almost gone!
But the MASTER comes, and the foolish crowd,
Never can quite understand,
The worth of a soul, and the change that's wrought
By the touch of the MASTER'S hand.
