My favorite part in the movie is how the Americans get the Chinese to build a ship to support their survival. I guess the Chinese were planning to use the money for nation wide swimming lessons.

What do you think about radio host Limbaugh's claim that Obama is politicizing the Haiti catastrophe?
Obama is doing what is expected of every president of the U.S: to present America as a leader in humanitarism. Back in 2004 there was the Indian Ocean tsunami, which was one of the worst natural disasters of the century taking well over 200,000 lives. The U.S along with other leading nations, contributed a great deal to humanitarian efforts. The U.S contributed over 2.8 billion (see wikipedia)...

It is the predominate religion, but the U.S isn't a Christian Nation in the same sense that it rules over a nation under religious doctrine like the Taliban Islamists. There are many U.S laws that counteract against traditional Christian doctrine.
The percentage of Christians are also rapidly declining in favor of Atheisms or Agnosticism.

Should Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid step down for racially insensitive comments he made during the 2008 campaign season?
People have been fired for this, and politicians shouldn't get special treatment.
The nature of his rationale is revealed in his statements. He is a closet racist, and will not be able to represent the diverse culture that makes up both the state of Nevada and United States.
Toss him out. It doesn't need to divert the other major issues at hand. He is easily replaceable.

Why don't men come to there own defense anymore?
I absolutely would if some generalization was said in my presence.
I seriously hate how women ignore the fact that these men are cheating with another women. It takes two to cheat. Why is it that mistresses are less guilty? Also, the infidelity statistics are very high for women in America.
Some women really believe they're the angelic half of a depraved race.

I think I have the personality to be a good judge: the right temperment, open-mindedness, and objectivity. I lack the degree and the work experience that I think is necessary though.
I think I would be more harsh than the average judge in certain sentencing though, whether that may be a good or bad thing. I wouldn't let myself be confined to prescedent.

This is one of the most powerful messages I have ever heard. Atheists, how awesome is science? Will you praise it's method? Thoughts?
An atheist wouldn't praise science anymore than an educated religionist.
By definition, an atheist is simply anyone who doesn't believe in a deity. There is no necessary relationship with science. You can be completely ignorant of science, and still be an atheist.
Many atheist use science to justify their beliefs, which is understandable.

When women go out wearing revealing clothes, why do they get annoyed when guys stare? If the goods are on display then they're gonna get attention!
I know what you mean
I think it's because if you want to be hot you have to act like your hot. Get the stares, but turn them down. Many of them are probably narcist, and they thrive off of that.
I get this reaction at the gym sometimes. Some girls cross my path, and I reactively make eye contact. Sometimes I can see that annoyed look on their face. They're flattering themselves....

Take this example:

What would be the goal of the confrontation? If you're looking for them to admit his wrong then I don't think it is worthwhile. As you have mentioned, it looks like they have made up their minds. They support their side of the family, and yours supports yours.

Why do people buy gold in times of crisis as if at the end of civilization they will be able to trade shiny metal for food?
People use gold as a hedge against a breakdown in the monetary system, not against an apocalypse.
Take the US dollar for instance. It has been treated as a de-facto currency; however, after the latest massive money printing by the fed, the mortgage and financial system breakdown, other countries have lost confidence in the greenback. The USD can lose it's de-facto status, and be greatly...

It it true that the profs and TAs in university don't like lab reports with colored-in and artsy cover pages? My older bro who is in university said that? Is it true?
The profs and TAs normally have a strict format that your report has to be in including how your cover page should be presented. Anything other than the expected wouldn't be encouraged.
The profs and TAs aren't going to judge the report on it's cover. They only care about the content: your results and analysis. Anytime spent on making the cover page fancy is wasted time.

You're on the road to either heaven or hell. You come to a fork in the road, one way to heaven, the other to hell. There is a man. The man is either from heaven & tells only the truth, or from hell & only lies. How do you get to heaven? No turning back...
I would simply ask him a question that I know the truth to, so that I can determine whether he is from heaven or hell.
For example, do one of these roads lead to heaven? I know the answer is yes. I then follow up with the question, which road leads to heaven.

Cardio is really the only way to burn that fat off. You need to do about 30-60 minutes of moderate to intense cardio before your body fat starts burning. The number of times you do it per week depends on how well and much you eat.
You can then do curl ups to make your abs look tone, but it's pointless if you have a thick layer of flab.

Do you think that lovingly spanking your kids is abusive?
What do you mean by lovingly?
Do you mean to spanking only when you rationalize that it is the best option, and that you make the decision purely void of anger?
I was ass kicked when I was young. My father would always tell me in hindsight that it was out of love, but when he beat me, all I could see was his rage.

I think they should be treated like everyone else.
They need to pay for any special medications or procedure regardless of their beliefs. If they can't afford it then they will have to accept blood transfusions like everyone else, and be grateful medicine has saved their lives. Answer to:
Why goes it seems like alot of older men try to go after young girls?(im not saying all old men)
Because younger women tend to be more attractive than older, and all human beings are drawn to physical attraction whether they would like to admit it or not.
Also... for less superficial reasons. If the guy is looking for something serious and wants to have kids, older women aren't as suitable. The probability of birth defects, and risk for the mother increases exponentially with age....

Seeing as a back spin hook kick is such an effective knock out attack, why don't you ever see any in MMA or kickboxing?
If you noticed in fights between skilled fighters in the MMA, it is very hard to land a good fast straight punch, which is much faster than a spin kick. The chances of landing a spin kick is low.
Also, trying one would be a gambling for a lucky knock out at the high risk of getting knocked out yourself. You're very vulnerable when executing one of these.

I personally don't interpret it this way. What "Love is Blind" to me means is that "you must actively find Love because Love is...

I have heard Generation X re-labeled as Generation Me, a generation with a sense of self-entitlement and self-centeredness. It doesn't come to me as much of a surprise. Unlike the previous generations, the past couple of generations X and Y have been more greatly exposed to media unlike the previous genearations, and enjoyed growing up to less strict disciplines.

A guy should never hit back. It's not an issue about equal rights, or code of chivalry. Most men would seriously injure a woman if he gave her a hard punch to the face, and in the end it would be the man in jail even if the woman struck first.

Science doesn't proclaim all questions can be answered. I would say Science is more inline with attempting to understand questions.

The recession seems to be over! Even with unemployment reaching 10%, Obama said, "the stimulus has done it's job". Aren't you feeling better already?
Well technically recession refers to a decline in GDP in two or more quarters, which isn't directly related to the unemployment rate. In that sense, Obama is making a true statement.
However, there are people out there, and I agree that we should also account for social indicators rather than financial and industrial ones like GDP to determine the welfare of a country's economy....

I do feel sorry for some. For instance, I heard of a student her lit herself on fire. She chose a painful way to kill herself to send a final message of how much mental anguish she was repressing.
Some people are born with illness that make it hard for them to cope. Some are born into horrible lives, and their pain isn't their choice, but the result of mistakes of others.

That would be insane, and if it came from anyone important, it was probably a tasteless joke.
