While I considered AB superior to Yahoo! Answers because the rules weren't as restrictive, it seemed cooler, the questions are always open, and one could do far more in the profile pages; things have tightened up and gotten worse: the format is less attractive, some fellow members have become a bit testier, and the glitches are far worse.A good number, perhaps a good fraction, of pre-Dec 2009 AB'ers have given up on AB. Many have gone to Fluther. A few, like myself, are active in both. Here's my Fluther profile. The profile pages aren't as good, there are fewer people, and questions have to be more serious; but it seems a friendlier place and the moderators are many times more responsive there. My time here is thus divided—whether or not I'm in the penalty box.I suppose that by 1 April 2010, most of the glitches will have been fixed, and maybe a few bad ideas reversed. If not, then my appearance here will be even less common.Thank you. As for my image (getting back to my main profile text) I know it's "civet cat."I got the name "Civic Cat" by John Moore one of the (few liberal and intelligent) talk show hosts on CFRB.The radio station referred to the SARS crises and how it was spread by things such as (some) Chinese eating civet cats. He quipped, "I thought it was spelled ''civic'', as it voted in municipal elections."I got a bit of a laugh out of it. So when I was trying to think of a username, I figured I'd use that.I then did a Google search for images, and the best one was, erroneously, a bearcat, which I saw on a TV variety show (it might have been Letterman) years ago. I also heard the song "Bear Cat" a few times by David Wilcox, and hence I choose the image. I have accounts here and in Yahoo! Answers— here's my account over there. I'm on a few other sites, each representing a graduation of sorts:I was on Yahoo! Answers previous to my current account. The first Civic Cat was suspended with questions like this: Oh Deah me, I got 12 violations cited in 24 hours. What lessons are in this for me?"I then created a second Civic Cat account, which is active, but now barely so, Though I'm not Persian, I meet a number on YA and thus joined here ("Look what brought in the (Civic) Cat!!)".>I recently got an account in Wikipedia, which is kind of expected given the many links I placed there; and since I've done the same a bit with RationalWiki. Here's my Wikipedia account and my RationalWiki account. I have some questions about Answerbag that stand out. They are: Here are the questions:(1) "Are people allowed to have multiple identities here on AB, and do you know of any member who has more than one avatar? Pity it says so little about multiple accounts, among a few other things."(2) "Apparently, while not explicitly stated in the AB GLs or TUE, multiple accounts are banned AB. I guess that means Chinese and Iranian democrats have to either shut up about politics, or be really quiet about their personal lives. Huh?"(3) My answer to, What are Answerbag's Terms of Use?(4) "Yahoo! Answers has, if little else, all it's rules stated. You can access, print, and read them. How about Answerbag?" (5) "What's better, Answerbag or Wikipedia:Reference Desk? (copy and paste this if you want http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Reference_desk)" They allow multiple accounts. :-D(6) "What are the rules about "answering" one's own question in order to provide additional details to the question?"(7) ""US broadcast television"? What are we talking about? Peoria; Jackson, Mississippi; or San Francisco? Prime time or 3 AM? VHF or UHF? Stations with this "FCC" breathing down their necks or not?
