Yes, my top came off when I dove from the high dive. Unfortunately it floated away and it took me awhile to make my way the distance to retrieve it. I tried to plunge under water to get it back on, but it was very awkward. I'm sure some enjoyed the show (blushing) .

Hi Rosie! If you have experienced this and someone has reported one of your posts as "offensive," I can only imagine it is simply because they disagree with your views. It has happened to me occasionally. Someone advised me to contact a Community Leader when this happens. I did twice, and both times my answer/comment was restored, as the CL determined my remarks were not offensive. Best...

If it were someone I've been friends with for a long time and really like and respect and admire, I would contact them and inquire as soon as I noticed. I would more than likely think it was a site glitch. But really, I don't count or notice much - too busy! :-) Have a good week Rosie!!

Yes, I would still go to Canada! Have been there a number of times and enjoyed every one.
Deer involved accidents in the U.S. are significant.
"In 2000, of the 6.1 million lightweight motor vehicle collisions reported in the US, 247,000 crashes involved deer-vehicle collisions. Deer-vehicle collisions lead to about 200 human deaths and $1.1 billion in property damage every year."

There are too many variables and you provide too little information to offer a legal opinion.

Is it understandable to want to take gender out of a child's upbringing?
While I can appreciate the lofty concepts embedded within the philosophy of the parents, I think it is very impracticle and could backfire into gender and identity crisis on the part of the child and the child's friends and classmates. No, not necessarily. That depends upon the size of the lawn, the condition of maintenance (such as tallness of the grass), the amount of time it will take and whether you are using the customer's mowing equipment or your own. The price likely will vary with each customer.

You also can study a field such as ballistic fingerprinting, which matches bullets to a particular gun. A person with this knowledge may be asked to provide expert testimony in a criminal trial.

I would contact the Protocol Office at the White House and ask what is appropriate for the event which I am attending.
However, it doesn't matter because I will not be going. I have visited the White House several times, but don't plan on going again.
If you have been invited simply call or email the White House and ask for protocol.

My nail polish bubbles up no matter what i do , i dont shake the bottle .
There are many reasons this can happen. The polish may be old and separating. New polish is light and thin and the layers of polish will not be thick or heavy. Your nails may need to be buffed more, to be sure they are completely smooth before applying. Be sure there are no small pieces of cuticle on your nails. If your nails are thin and peel, you will need to buff them down a layer. Try...

How do you feel about all those people who are always on their phones (texting/calling/social networks)?
They make me very nervous when they are driving. Apart from that I think it is rude under some circumstances - such as jumping up in the middle of the dinner table, interrupting conversations, etc. It seems they are chained to their phone and it takes precedence above all else - even interacting with real people in real life. Sad. :-(

Do you look for the "Made in USA" mark when you shop for food, clothing, and other items?
Yes, I do look on clothing, but seldom (occasionally) see it anymore. On food, I look sometimes at produce to see if it is from the USA or South America, etc. In terms of buying a car, it is hard to know. Most of the U.S. auto makers now have their vehicles assembled outside the U.S., whereas some foreign auto makers build their cars here and employ American citizens. What does "made in...

Just add milk, only a few drops at a time and continue stirring until it is the consistency you desire. If it gets too runny, add a bit more sugar. The frosting will thicken and harden just a bit as it sits out over time, so you may have to thin it once more. BE SURE that the cake is cooled before you frost it. Enjoy! :-)

Unless some kind of company policy is being violated, do nothing! I have worked for my present employer for many years, long enough to know many people who have retired. Some of them occasionally drop by or call to see how everyone is doing. Their greetings are welcomed, not punished. I don't think I would like working for your company.

What would make you "spill the beans"?
If someone's life was in danger. I have a friend who has a serious medical condition, related to his heart. It is not readily apparent and is controlled by medication (and previous surgery). He doesn't want others to know, for fear of being perceived as weak or treated with pity. If something happened, such as he collapsed, I would tell immediately so that he could receive proper medical...

Hi Phillip and Welcome to Answerbag!
Low self esteem often comes from childhood and being around family members, neighbors, teachers or others who made you feel you were stupid or not good enough or somehow less than others and not deserving of the best. You start to believe them and you have personal thoughts which you carry with you that you are going to be a failure.

.
Kindly provide a source for your assertion.
In my opinion, it is difficult to generalize unemployment by race, unless you also analyze it by gender, educational level, poverty / income level, marital status, children vs. childless, age, etc. Also, how do you define "unemployment?" Are you using the statistics of those who were working and are now laid off, or just general statistics of how...

"Recharge your batteries." This means different things to different people. Different strokes for different folks.

There are many ways to view and interpret scriptures and teachings, as is evident from the wide variety of answers here. I view not eating pork as a "social" law. If you look at the world's major religions, their most fundamental spiritual teachings (love God, love your neighbor) for the most part are alike. It is in the social laws that they differ. My opinion is that there is nothing wrong with a person attending church or practicing their religion or living their lives based upon personal beliefs. For some, it is part of their family tradition or culture of their community.

poison will kill it. If you don't want to hurt it, get a live trap which is a sort of metal cage where the door slams shut behind it once it goes inside to get the food you put in there. Then you will have to take it away somewhere and release it - far enough away that it won't come back to your yard. Good Luck.

It should be mentioned that Medicare pays for a BASIC, STANDARD mono-focal lens, which the patient can select EITHER corrected to see for distance, or corrected to see for closeup. The basic standard lens corrects for one or the other, not both.
If you want a TORIC lens, which is normally used for severe astygmatism, you will pay for the extra cost.

Competence is developed over time with learning/experience. Why do some humans believe they are competent to correctly evaluate others?
I think humans naturally look for patterns. I imagine in the "caveman" days, hunters learned to watch the watering holes at certain times when their prey would come to drink. Thanks for bringing news, Rosie, as I usually don't keep up with political happenings. Looking it up, I see he repaid $3,383.79 for using the helicoptor.
In looking further, I see that "In 2002, the Democratic State Committee reimbursed New Jersey $18,200 for 14 non-governmental helicopter trips taken by then-Governor James E. McGreevey, who apologized."
And, "In 1993, Republican Christine...

Stand back, do not get involved, but call 911 and summon help if it seems someone is about to get injured. Better safe than sorry. At worst, police will disperse them and/or cite them for causing a public disturbance.

Why do people ask a question then go into a rage if you don't think like they do. Why so angry?
I see this happening frequently. Yesterday I saw someone calling another names, just because they had a difference of opinion. There is a lot of rudeness. Political and religious questions are the worst, where even the most mild-mannered participants seem to go stark raving mad. Some feel it is best to stick with those who are "friends," because even though you may disagree, at least there will...

I love my plants. Is it ok to give them milk or lemonade sometimes instead of just plain water?
I think it is best for you to become familiar with each type of plant you have. Read up on them, on what kind of fertilizer or plant food they like, proper amounts of sunlight and shade, where to place them, when to turn them, how much water to give them. Each type of plant is different. Some need water poured over the top; others must be fed from the bottom of the container to allow the roots...

This is just my opinion, but depending upon where they are located and what you use the space for, I would remove them. Mulberry trees can grow up to 50 feet tall! If any cars might park under the trees, they will be a mess and the berries can even destroy the paint. Birds love...

While I hate to sacrifice the white Albert Nipon skirt suit, you absolutely cannot sacrifice the #1 dress or the Jimmy Choo sandals!!! I am very sorry for your loss, JackNJ. It is true that there are always risks with any surgery, and YES, other health issues can arise. Some health issues which are reported frequently after surgery are infection, pneumonia, and blood clots or the inverse, too much bleeding. Surgery also places acute stress on the whole system, making the patient more susceptible to other illnesses. The fact...

That's an excellent question, Rosie! I cannot speak for others, but for myself, with a full time job with 60+ hour work week, part-time graduate school, personal health issues and an ill family member, I don't even keep up with politics within our own borders! Hi Rosie. I did not hear the speech, but this problem is very long standing and difficult. I almost think we should step out of it and stand aside. Any attempts by us to intervene and steer an outcome will likely be construed as meddling and unwelcome by one side or the other. I can't see any win/win.

That totally depends upon the individual and their taste in music. Have you considered that this "guy" might enjoy the classics, such as Mozart or Beethoven? Maybe he prefers classical piano music and does not care if it is a male or female pianist. This question makes no sense, and makes assumptions which just don't fit most of the world's population (imho)

Does any one know the cure of sleep paralysis
I learned years ago that I will ease much of the symptoms if I do not sleep on my back. I sleep on my side instead, with one arm under the pillow supporting my head, and make sure my head is in a good position for easy breathing. I seldom experience this any more. Years ago when it happened frequently, I felt as though I were dying. Sleep with covers over you in a slightly cooled room with...

I guess if I felt like offering an explanation I would. If not, just walk away. I don't really recall anyone complaining, but it's possible, as everyone has different taste when it comes to style, colors, textures, etc.

My mom and I are in a huge disagreement over the issue of wedding reception seating.
Who is paying for the reception? If it is your Mom, you may need to compromise a bit. But I don't see why she is insisting on having her way with the reception seating. Tell her this is your day and it would be wonderful if she would honor your wishes. You are joining two lives, why keep everone separate?

When is it too late to send a sympathy card?
Recently I saw a friend whom I hadn't seen in several years. When I asked about his family, he told me his Father had died. I immediately picked out a sympathy card and wrote a personal note inside, and sent it to him. In my opinion, it is never too late to express sincere thoughts in a spirit of kindness and good will.

How can you fax or send a piece of paper as a digital file? Basically, I need a piece of paper to become a digital file. How?
You need a fax machine (or fax modem) or a scanner. Either can work through the phone lines or through your computer. If you have a scanner, you can lay the sheet of paper on the glass, and send it via email. You can fax the paper by dialing (or typing) in the fax number you are sending it to. This technology has been around for decades, so I'm not sure I understand where the confusion is....

Yes, having traveled through war zones in other countries under martial law, having been detained, having seen others arrested, beaten or put to death, I am very appreciative of the freedoms we have here. In the United States, I do not fear imprisonment or death for speaking my opinion on issues of politics, religion, economics, societal policies, etc. Once you have feared for your life and...
