Answer to:
My lawn mower won't start. Can you give me any advice on what I should do? Also, after I try starting the mower the spark plug is dry, it don't even smell like gas.
First of all, try removing the air filter. If it starts, buy a new air filter. If not, drain the gas, fill with new gas. Check the oil level and change the oil if the old oil looks too dirty. Install a new spark plug and check the gap width, or clean the old plug with sandpaper and re-gap. Lack of gas smell might signal a clogged fuel line or filter. You could replace the fuel filter if you...

Keep doing what you are already doing, and then the next time an event comes up where he will need a date, make sure you're hanging out around him at that time to give him the opportunity to ask you out. If he is interested in you more than someone else, no doubt you will be his choice for a date!
Answer to:
What key is a guitar in, if it is in standard tuning? For instance you can tune to an open G or C.
Standard tuning is in no particular key because it has ALL the notes, IN ORDER, like a piano, and because of this arrangement, all keys are posible from the standard tuning. If you were to strum all six strings open, you would be playing a chord named Em7sus4.

I don't think that it is a good idea to hide depresion. Bring it up for discussion and get some treatment. That doesn't sound fair, but you just described how all statistics are formed - by surveying only a "sample" segment and then basing the conclusions on that. Why has atheism never been viewed by the world as a positive thing about life?
Atheism is the absence of belief in the existence of deities. God is a diety. God is responsible for everything in our life, so not believing in God would be like admitting the we ourselves don't exist. This sounds silly to me, I could never figure out how athiests got around that one! And if an athiest counters back and says that God is NOT responsible for everything in life, I would have...

80 pounds sounds small for 15 years old, even if you are short. It would be unhealthy to be any lighter than that. Speaking of unhealthy, don't skip breakfast and lunch - have something small at least - you need the nourishment to be productive during the day. You can cut out deserts and snacks such as chips, that's about the only change I'd recommend.

I turned 90 in Feb. ;wednesday of last week I discovered a lump on my left breast.Have a mamogram and ultra sound sceduled , Monday Isn't my age unusual to get cancer? Is surgery worth the risk for a further quality of life?
This is a question for your doctor. I'll certainly hope with you that the results are negative. Most people late 80's on do not elect surgery because of the risks, but once again, that is a question ony your doctor, with a knowledge of your medical history, can answer. If you are healthy otherwise, you could make a case for having the surgery, that is, if you need it.

Answer to:
Should a migraine be considered a legitimate reason to stay home from school or work? (For example, I had a couple of days of migraines, however my professors would not take any of my work, even with a doctor's note)
A migrane is a good reason for missing school or work. You cannot function when the pain is severe. The professors should take your work unless there is some other policy specifically stating that you MUST be present in class. Such a policy would be unfair, and thereby you might be able to persuade the prof to accept your work if you tell them calmly the extent of your pain that day and why you...

Is 17 a good age to start to try to get pregnant?
I think pregnancy should wait until after college and after a good career has begun. It is very hard to attend college when you have to care for a child. And it is hard to get ahead in life without a college education. Once you finish college and have a good career track record, you could take a few years off to raise a child and then not have too much trouble returning to the workplace if you...

A book about killing gentile children written by a Rabbi has become a bestseller in Israel. Where is the outrage? Imagine if this author was a Muslim? What does this book being a best seller tell you?
He says that his edict “is fully justified by the Torah and the Talmud.” He is wrong, the law of Moses says "Thou shalt not kill." He seems to be acting independantly, and if he carries this too far, the rest of the jews will probably take care of him to shut him up.

How much pain do you have to be in before you take whatever the dr. prescribes for relief, regardless of side effects?
I have bad and painful afrthritis. I am also a professional guitar player. When I don't have to record or play a show, I lay low on the meds and put up with the pain. Sometimes it is very bad. When I do have to play guitar, I take some extra meds so that the pain doesn't get in the way of my performance.

What is your view on a human soul? How and why does it exsist?

Souls are complicated. I look at a soul as being the "spiritual" part of our existence. Spiritual means that it is imaginary, and you cannot see or touch it. It is a feeling, like a conscience, that stores our beliefs and influences our actions. It is controlled by the "Holy Spirit" which is also a spiritual force. I guess that scientifically speaking, one could say that a...

I didn't see that on the news, so I don't know for sure what the protest is about. I am reading a book this week about various religions, and it said that the only hope Muslims have for salvation is to die in a holy war (jihad). Possibly, but sometimes in retail, commission salespeople will dress fancy or uniquely so that they are recognizable and their customers can easily find them when they come to the store. It's like a gimmick.

Firstly I'll start by saying this isn't a bash at religion and that I'm open minded. I don't know what i believe.
I was thinking the other day though.
If there was a way to prove religion didn't exist. Would people really want to know?
I think people would want to know. There have been many great books written about people who have tried to do exactly that. Along the way they ended up discovering undeniable evidence that religeon DOES exist, and not the once athiest are some of our strongest believers!

It's a combination of history book, geneology, poetry, songs (lyrics only), short stories, wisdom (handbook for living) and a set of religeous rules to follow.

What gives you spiritual strength?
Studying the Bible, going to church, hanging out with other believers who share my beliefs so they know why I'm so contented, prayer, reading a wide variety of books and articles that fill in the missing pieces of information and offer justification that I have made the right choices.

Ever since i have had my daughter, who is almost 6 months old, i always want to hold her and play with her. My hubby gets mad saying i am spoiling her. I honestly can't help it. Is this part of post pardum?
In my world, the rule is "the older they get, the less you hold them." Newborn is ok, teenager - no!! I have a friend that has a 8 year old that is always hanging on to his mom and the mom is always hanging on to him. Sometimes she even carries him like a litle baby. Now that is just wierd! Generally speaking, yes, 11 is too young. When I think of a girl wearing makeup, I picture some young lady wearing a business suit working in an office, then stopping for cocktails after work. My dog's hair (hackles) stand on end whenever she meets someone. Should I punish for this behavior??? Should I be worried as to whether or not it is aggressive behavior?
You can't really punish a dog for being a dog. Show her that each person she meets is a friend and can be trusted. Pet her and use the word "friend." When she calms down, see if she'll allow the other person to pet her. In time, the dog can learn to be more trusting, but the built-in instinct is to protect you from strangers.

Sometimes it's better to tell the truth. In some jobs, you can tell them that you have to take a sick day to handle a personal situation. When you use the word "personal," they usually don't ask. If someone from work would see you working in the yard or running errands, you could get in trouble. If the employer balks, then say "well if I don't get this done, I...

Hard to believe, but I think the most moving concert I ever went to was John Tesh. It was probably in the early `90's. There were no special effects or stage props - all it took was a good musical performance.

Was Jesus killed by God for stealing His magick superpowers and coming down here to show off? Because he created a lot of controversy. He could have just cured everyone and make world peace without anyone noticing, then leave?
If God wanted to do everything and control everything, He wouldn't have had any need to create man. The master plan is to give us the freedom to do as we choose, whether it be right or wrong. Then also built into the master plan is a way for people to tell the difference between right and wrong, and to choose to do right and to avoid all that is wrong. When this happens, God is pleased!

I've used AVG for many years. It is great, and not a scam. Lately, there was one nasty virus it missed, so I switched to Avast! which is also free and it does a slightly better job than AVG. AVG is also very easy to use.

Hey when I love some one why do they always have to die or leave or use me?
They don't always have to do that, there are other options that you'll run into eventually:
1. They could love you back
2. They could be a good friend but not love you
3. You could get tired of them first and leave them before they leave you
4. You could go with someone for a while before you fall in love, or maybe you won't fall in love with this person you are going with,...

How to repair headphone cable? I have Bose in-ear headphones ($99 ones) . Rubber is cut at some places (just a thin cut, exposing the copper wires inside).I dont want to use insulation or scotch tape.
Any better solution on how to repair these?
They make a tubing called "shrink wrap." You get the smallest piece you can that still fits over the plug, cut it the length you want, then slide it up the cable until it covers the bare wires, then you heat it with a match or lighter and the tubing shrinks down tight against the wire. You can get this at Radio Shack or other electronic stores.

You don't really want to do that, do you? Say it's not true, say that you are now over that feeling! It's not nice even to think something like that unless you are doing research for a novel. If that's the case, then scare the person bad enough to trigger a heart attack.

By "very different methods," it sounds like she is being brainwashed. You would have to observe the methods to know for sure, but you are probably safe to assume this for the time being.

Stay in bed and get some sleep. You might get better in 24 hours. Most people make the mistake of ignoring the minor symptoms and going to work. This wears down the body and makes it harder to fight off the cold or flu. I always take some "Airborne" at the very first sign of a cold or flu, and many times I can keep myself from getting sick. Have you discussed this with your family doctor? It sounds like something in your stomach or digestive tract, and I think there are tests for this. One thing some people do if the bad breath originates from the mouth is to rinse your mouth with Hydrogen Peroxide and also use a strong mouthwash such as Listerine.

You already answered your own question by asking the question - you said that she doesn't love you 100% because she admitted she has feelings for her ex. This could still work out as long as she doesn't go back with her ex and you are willing to accept 80% feelings from her.

To a teenager, they "seem" like the most difficult period because teenagers haven't learned yet how to deal with a lot of things, but I think the period that includes "college/marriage/raise a family/land a good career/buy a house" is probably more difficult in terms of actually accomplishing something.

He saved us because He loves us. As far as "faith" goes, that was a pretty smart move. Although it must be frustrating at times for the doctors, I believe a person or a family should be entitled to believe what they want to believe and have their rights respected by others. Although it would be morally right for the doctor to overrule the father and save the child, that would just put us all one step closer to not being allowed to decide anything for ourselves.

Is there any point trying to get some sleep if you're still up gone 4am?
If you have to go to work in the morning, you should call in sick and get some sleep. If you're not sick when you phone in, you sure will be after 8-10 hours of work. People who work while sleep depraved cause accidents. And don't let it happen again!

Answer to:
We all know that certain appearances are not tolerated at most work places -- such as facial piercings, wild colored hair, etc. My question is, how do you think very blonde hair with a black streak in it would be tolerable, or not? See link for a pic.
Compared to other appearance abnormalities I've seen lately, the pic seems mild. This might be tolerated at a large percentage of jobs, but not the most conservative places. Now it the streaks were blue and orange, my answer would be more critical.
Answer to:
Do you ever think about ways to improve yourself, ways to be a better person, or do thoughts like those make you uncomfortable so you avoid them?
Uncomfortable? Not at all. I'm always trying to do my best and to be my best. I take criticism well and look for things that I could do better.

For Christians who believe the bible to be the word of God; what do you think of God saying "Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones."
Psalm 137:9
This is a metaphor for revenge. The Bible speaks of many things, some good, some bad. Just because it mentions revenge, it doesn't say that revenge is condoned by God, nor does it say that it is desirable. These are the words of a songwriter, not of God. Have you heard some of the stuff songwriters are writting these past 10-20 years? This is way mild in comparison! What if the song...

Only a small segment of people do this, but they can make a lot of noise! As I travel around as either a musician or a lecturer, I sometimes have an opportunity to briefly discuss my Christian views with people, and almost all of the time I get congratulated that I have my live so in-balance.

Answer to:
Why exactly do teenage girls like older guys so much? Is it because they can drive?
Girls mature faster than boys, so if a girl in high school dated a boy her same age, it would be like dating a boy 2 years younger. By dating an older boy, the maturity level is more balanced. By early to mid 20's, things seem to even out. In fact, at that age, it's not unusual for a guy to date an older girl!

Received ad in mail offering help with pre-foreclosure on home I've been renting since 7/18/09. Researched online, a Trustee Sale filed for Nov. 3rd. Owner stated he's seeking a loan modification and foreclosure will not happen. What should I do?
Many or the people about to lose their house through foreclosure are able to work thingts out at the last minute and keep the house. The banks seem to want to find buyers as soon as they can, so sometimes people will come by to look at the house, then it turns out that it is not for sale. Best thing is to feel happy for the people that didn't lose their home!

If someone asks what religion you are, do you be afraid to answer?
I'm not afraid to answer, it's just that the answer is complicated. I was baptised Catholic and married in the Catholic Church, but because4 I live in the back country, I've been attending a non-denominational church rather than make the long drive to town to go to a Catholic church. Technically, I'm still Catholic, but I just say "Christian."

What should i do if my friend totally backstabbed my other friend? i am stuck in the middle...what do i do?
It is best if you remain uninvolved. If not, you need to show the backstabber how his actions were wrong, and then he'll understand why you must side against him. Always take the side of what is right and appropriate, not who you like better. Remember, two wrongs don't make a right!
Answer to:
Do you think the older you get the harder life gets?

Other than notifying the police, we should not get involved. A bystander could get injured, or do something that they are not authorized to to and then end up getting sued. You hear about heros that stop crimes from happening, but they are doing this at huge risk to themselves, and I'm sure that the police wouldn't recommend that everybody act this way.

You could die from anything - different peoples bodies react differently to medications, so you never know. Not John 8:14, we're talking about John 8:44, which just adds reason for the previous verse, 8:43, which we are in agreement on. As for Exodus 20:12, that was a typo on my part, it should have read Exodus 20:16 "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor." which is a good verse against lying, which I am also firmly against.

We are probably not saying the right things to our kids. All parents really want to be good parents, but it takes a while to develop that skill and sensitivity, so most parents don't become good parents until their 3rd or 4th kid. One of the things that parents need to tell their children more is how much they love them, how important they are in this world, and how much you appreciate...
