Answer to:
Is there going to be a sequel to Mario Kart DS?
Possibly. The DS is an incredibly successfull handheld, and Mario Kart DS is an incredibly successfull game. It would make sense for Nintendo to create a sequel.
In addition to that, there were two Mario Kart games for the GBA, so Nintendo has already produced a sequel to one portable version of Mario Kart.
My bet would be on "yes."

Which has changed more, the Xbox 360 controller or the PS3 controller?
You mean compared to their previous versions? Definitely the 360 controller. The only real change in the PS3 controller seems to be that they have replaced the rumble with a somewhat useless motion sensing device, and that they have made it wireless.
The 360 controller is a totally new controller, compared to the original Xbox controller.
The most innovative controller is the Wii...

When my boyfriend and I first moved in together, he did all of the cooking and cleaning. We fought about it and now I do everything. Is it wrong for me to want him to help?
No, it's definitely not wrong. In my opinion, how much each partner does depends on how much you work (and if I use that word, I mean work outside the household, as in "paid job"). If you both work full-time, you should try to both do an equal amount of work in the household. If one of you works significantly less than the other, it's only natural that he or she would do...

Is it safe to use my birth control pills to postpone my period?
Your question is a bit unclear. What exactly are you trying to achieve?
Some methods of birth control will stop you from having a period. This is not harmful in any way. What people need to keep in mind is that nowadays, women have many more periods in their lives than they used to have even a hundred years ago. Women used to have ten or more children, which means they were pregnant (and...

There is no study or controlled experiment that has shown anything like remote viewing (except using a TV :-). I guess it's not entirely impossible that there is some natural phenomenon that would allow remote viewing, but if there is, nobody has tapped into it yet, and it's very, very unlikely that it exists at all.

I think you overestimate yourself, since your very question contains a logical conundrum: If you really do underestimate your peers, they aren't morons. If they were morons, you couldn't possibly underestimate them.

Does racial diversity really make people more sensitive and understanding towards race?
Statistically, it can be shown that in places with less diversity, people have typically more stereotypes and prejudices than in places with more a diverse population. This can be attributed to the simple fact that those people usually don't know anyone who isn't "like them" and thus have no reason to doubt the stereotypes and prejudices which they hold.

Is there such a thing as a victimless crime?
Basically, anything that is illegal but does not harm anyone is a victimless crime. There are many laws based on ethics. Usually, these laws do not protect a victim from a crime, but a society from a specific behavior which some feel is inappropriate. For example, laws preventing certain sex techniques cause victimless crimes if they apply to consenting adults.

How do I link up two Gamecubes?
Unfortunately, you can't link them just like that. You need broadband adapters for both cubes. Since the broadband adapter was never widely supported by games, it may be kind of hard to find these. After you've installed broadband adapters, you can hook the cubes up with each other using either a crossed ethernet cable or two ethernet cables and a router.

Possibly. It depends on what you're doing. It's highly unlikely that you'll catch a virus while playing an online game. That could only happen if something really big went wrong. I think the ending does not really make sense. Hence, I did not write a reply at first, but I've rated down the other answer, so it's only fair to give you a chance to rate down mine :-)

Why do I feel as if I am flying when a roller coaster reaches the top of the hill?
While going uphill, the direction you're going is upwards, obviously. That means that when reaching the top of the ill, the direction you're going to must go from upwards to straight to downwards when you're going down the hill again. Hence, your acceleration is downwards (since youre direction goes from upwards to downwards).
Since you're not really attached to your...

The other answer is only partially correct. Cache is not a specific form of memory, it's a way of using memory. If we're talking about data stored on a comparatively slow network, this data could be cached on your local hard disk to make access faster. If...

No, because "down" is very subjective. If you mean to ask whether everything you throw up eventually falls down to earth again, definitely not. In what format and bit rate should my music be encoded to maximize the space in my mp3 player without much drop in quality?
Depends on the format and on the encoder. Generally, if you're not using VBR, 196 kbit/s should be okay for MP3 files, while 128 kbit/s should be okay for more advanced formats like AAC. Personally, I can't hear the difference between an 128 kbit/s AAC encoded with iTunes, an 196 kbit/s MP3 encoded with iTunes and an unencoded CD, but if you've got better ears and a better audio...

That depends on the game you play, and on how you play it. If you want to learn a foreign language using a game, you need to find a game which has lots of text, and which depends on the text. If you don't *have* to read and understand the text, you won't learn anything, because you'll start to simply ignore it. So you should get a game like Zelda, a game which depends on your...

Some CDs also have a protective layer above the data layer which prevents scratches from reaching the actual data.

I want my boyfriend to call me daily, but he says he wants some quiet time after work. Am I being too demanding?
Especially early in a relationship, daily contact is certainly something many people want, so it's a reasonable request. On the other hand, if he's exhausted, it's also reasonable that he doesn't feel well enough to talk to you. I'd say both positions can be argued for, so it would be best for you to find some kind of compromise - maybe he could call during noon when...

Do coincidences happen for a reason?
Everything happens for a reason. Coincidences do not really exist, it's all cause and effect. You perceive things as coincidences if you can't see the causes. That doesn't mean that the causes aren't there. That, however, doesn't mean that causes have any kind of meaning - it's still random, as far as you are concerned :-)

If scripts 7, 8, and 9 are already written and George Lucas wants to do other films than Star Wars, can't they get some other talented producer/director to make them in the same mood and style as the first six?
They aren't written yet. Lucas doesn't have more than a few general ideas about what is going to happen. There's also the problem of all the other stories (say, from books) already playing after Ep. 6, so he'd somehow have to fit his new stories into the framework set up by all the books.
He said he wasn't going to do it, and given how old he is, he's probably...

At night, I prefer my bedrooms (on the 2nd floor) to be cooler than the rest of the house. But the 2nd floor tends to be much warmer than the 1st floor, and my AC has to run excessively to keep the bedrooms cool at night. What can I do?
As somebody else has said, heat rises, so there's not much you can do. One thing you could try would be to insulate *between* the floor so that the heat can't rise that easily.

After meeting a great guy through an online service and going on three great dates (and being intimate), I discovered he had a long term, live in girlfriend. Should I inform the girlfriend (a stranger to me) via email of her boyfriends indiscretions?
As others said, first of all, he's certainly not "a great guy". Second, this is really quite a mess. However, while the other answers suggest you don't tell his girlfriend about it, I would tend to disagree. If you were in her place, wouldn't you want to know your boyfriend is a cheating loser? I would inform her and, at the same time, tell him that it's over and...

I have a Nikon coolpix 4200. The battery in it is a "Lithium Ion battery pack EN-EL5 3.7 V 1100mAh" battery. In order to keep the longest battery life, should I let the battery die, or is it ok to recharge before it dies?
Depends on hof often you use it. If you use your battery regularly, you should not fully discharge it. However, if you rarely ever use it, you should do a full discharge-recharge cycle once a month. Not using Li-Ion-batteries can have adverse effects on them.

I heard that iPods tend to break in about 2 years. Is this true?
No, this is absolutely false. iPods can probably work for decades. However, iPods contain rechargeable batteries. Rechargeable batteries will in time start working less well and eventually stop working altogether. I...

Be honest and tell him how you feel about it. Tell him that you're open for new things and that you want him to tell you what he would like you to do, but that you won't do this, and explain why you won't do it. I'm sure he wouldn't want to find out later that you never actually wanted to do it, but simply did it because you were afraid to be honest.

An airconditioner in a tent would be seriously insane since a tent has almost no insulation (of course, that doesn't mean that it isn't available in the US :-). Anyway, you could go camping in a forrest or in a similar place where it doesn't get too hot.

Disclaimer: I have no Ph.D. in physics, but during my study, I had to attend a few semestres.

Your boyfriend is getting along well with his former girlfriends. That's no reason to worry. It doesn't mean that he will or even wants to cheat on you. He was together with these girls for a long time, and this often creates a friendship that goes on after the relationship. He should have told you about it, of course, but it's possible that he did tell a former girlfriend and...

There certainly nothing "wrong" with you. A lot of women have trouble achieving orgasms during sexual intercourse. That doesn't mean that this can't change, though. I think getting up right after coming is kind of suboptimal and not really needed. Some ghosting is appearing on the screen of my GBA SP. Can this be fixed or should I get a new one?
A small amount of ghosting is perfectly normal for LCD screens like the GBA SP's screen. It's also possible for this problem to become slightly worse over time. My GameGear is especially bad: it has so much ghosting it's hardly usable anymore. If it becomes too bad, you can contact Nintendo or try to replace the screen yourself if you find a replacement screen.

My Gameboy Advance SP froze with a game on the screen. I took the game and the battery out, but the game image is still there. What do I need to do?
That's a pretty strange one. Is the image still completely visible (even without a battery inside) or is it just a shadow of the former image? If the first, you have a magic SP. If it's the second, you probably have LCD burn-in. This is non-permanent and should go away after a few days.

This is pretty hard, and I would advise against doing it. You will probably end up with more dust inside it than you have right now. Some cartridges released after the Game Boy Color contain a color palette which maps each of the four greyscales to a color. The Game Boy Player uses this color palette. There's no proof of this theory, though, and tests have shown that people don't yawn less often if the amount of oxygen in the air surrounding them increased. Other theories are the Evolution Theory and the Boredom Theory. The Evolution...

Who are Google's main competitors?
Right now, Google doesn't have any competitors that play in the same league. There are some that would like to, though. Microsoft has recently re-started its own searching service. As of now, its results aren't as good as Google's, though, but they did copy a lot of features from Google (like cached pages) and introduced some new ones. Some other search engines trying to detrone...

What are the pros and cons of being in an interracial relationship?
Having been in an interracial relationship, I can tell you that there are no cons. I've never had the slightest problem.
I can see how it could be a problem if your friends are racist, but then you should change your friends, not the person you love.

Are men technically still needed for the survival of the human race?
Technically, no. The human race doesn't need males in order to reproduce.
Somebody rated this down, saying that you need males for the long term survival of our species. Not so. Many species don't have males. They reproduce by "cloning" themselves. We could do the same. Even evolution still works, as DNA mutates either way. It's just that our genes wouldn't mix...

Which will keep you drier, running in the rain or walking?
Well, if you want to go from A to B, running is better, because you will be exposed to the rain for less long. If you have a speed of zero, you will take an infinite amount of rain. If your speed is infinite, on the other hand, the rain will stand still in comparison. Hence you will take all the rain that is inside your path and no rain on the top of your head and your shoulders. The...

Is there any other historical documentation besides the Bible that mentions Jesus Christ?
There were many other contemporary descriptions of the life of Jesus Christ. However, during the last 2000 years, the Catholic Church did its best to destroy the ones that didn't support the story told in the ones used for the bible.
Somebody posted a comment asking for references or links. I'm hesitant to provide links, since religion is a subject that seems to make people forget...

What could be the cause of a low blood hemoglobin count?
The major cause for low hemoglobin is low iron. That, in turn, most often results from eating the wrong food. Vegans who simply stop eating meat without thinking about how to properly replace it often end up with low iron. Femals are more likely to get low iron due to the period.

Out of all of the available browsers, which is most secure against spyware, adware, etc.?
That would probably be a command line browser like Lynx. However, this is most certainly not a browser you would want to use. Right now, the best browser for people who want a "real" browser and use Windows is most likely Firefox. There are several reasons, some of which are:
- It has an extensive array of extremely useful features like tabbed browsing and integrated google search...

Can constant bra wearing cause eventual health problems?
It's hard to prove that it can't, because you can't prove a negative. There have been possible links between bra wearing and breast cancer, but it's not clear that there's a connection.

Much of the spyware that SpyBot found on my PC are malicious cookies. How can a cookie be used as spyware?
Normally, cookies are bound to the site which served them. So if you go to site xyz.com, and this site sets a cookie, only this site can read the cookie. If this were all that's to it, cookies wouldn't be a problem at all. However, the problem comes into play when a site adds content to other sites. Some sites, mainly advertising sites, include their own code in other site's...

What does marijuana smoke smell like? How can I identify it?
Obviously, it's hard to describe how something smells. Smoking marijuana basically smells like smoking a cigarette, but with a greenish tone in it :-)

If you smell that somebody smoked, but it doesn't smell like pipe tobacco or a cigarette...

What is "phishing"?
"Phishing" means creating a web site that looks like the site from another entity (preferrably a bank, or PayPal, or another site where you enter your credit card number). The idea is then to get people to enter their data at this page, thinking they're at the bank's or at PayPal's site. The people who created the site thus get your login data or your credit card number...

I tried linking a Gameboy Advance with a GBA SP using a GBA Game Link cable, but I just get the "Please Wait" screen. What could be wrong?
Without more information, it's hard to tell. There are two main things that could go wrong:
1) Faulty hardware. It's not very likely that the GBAs are broken, but the cable may be. Try replacing it.
2) You did something wrong. This is more likely. Since you didn't explain what exactly you've done, it's hard to tell what went wrong. Try reading the manual and do...

Have any other countries besides USA built and flown a space craft that can land like an airplane?
Yes, at least one other country had its own Shuttle. In the late 80s, the Russians developed a "copy" of the American Space Shuttle. One of them, Buran, even flew, although only once. It was the only flight due to the fact that the Shuttle's hangar in Baikonur collapsed, destroying the shuttle. A second Buran, the Buran 002 (they obviously had plans for hundreds of them :-) was...

Can you link a Gameboy Advance SP with a Gameboy Color? If so, where can I get the parts?
As long as you use normal Gameboy-Games in both Gameboys (so don't put a Gameboy Advance game in the Gameboy Advance!), this should work. There are special GBA-to-GB cables which any store that caries the GBA should be able to sell you.

Is it possible to clone a baby to be born with exactly the same personality and characteristics as the person they got DNA and genes from?
No. A cloned baby will most likely inherit some of the characteristics of the person he or she is cloned from, but large parts of a person's character are formed during his or her life. DNA contains no information about what happens after you "start to exist", by which I mean that your DNA doesn't contain information about what you learn.

Does the Five Pointed Palm Heart Exploding technique from the movie Kill Bill vol.2 really exist?
No. Although it might be possible that similar techniques work. The Straight Dope had an article about this:

The facts are as follows: There are cases where people did die after being hit by a single blow, and it is likely that there are pressure points where a well-applied and strong enough hit manages to kill an otherwise healthy person by...

Which system has the greatest graphics capabilities - PS2, Xbox, or GameCube?
The Xbox has the most powerful hardware. Second is the Gamecube. It can push slightly less polygons and has less RAM, which means that the textures are often worse than on the Xbox. The differences are not that big, though. Most games that run on both consoles look the same.
Clearly worst is the PS2. It can push a lot less polygons, has little RAM and doesn't have a lot of the other...
