How safe is the US from a terrorist attack?
Not especially safe and I don't know that we should make ourselves much safer than we are.
Security and freedom are kind of a zero sum game. The more alarms and locks you put on your house the more inconvenient getting in and out becomes and false alarms become common, sometimes so common that real ones are not taken seriously.

Would you advise a client to dump Tiger Woods?
If by client you mean an advertiser it would depend on what was being advertised. A line of wedding tuxedos might not be the best product for him right now but a fragrance would be likely be perfect. For the kinds of things that are more in between, such as cars, I'd just have them hold the ads and promotions for a month or two.

How did the aviation pioneers establish the need for flight before there was demand?
I agree with Alec, it was the demand of a dream.
There were probably many generals that kind of wished they had a handy cliff nearby to look down from though, so there's a somewhat more concrete need.

Answer to:
Are women more discriminating about their choices of sexual partners than men and, if so, why?
I believe they are. Your question is related (but by no means identical) to your question regarding whether females are more promiscuous than men.
There are ways to lose at sex. Pregnancy, abuse and disease hit women harder than they do men. And of course there is a lingering social sense that a woman who has too many sexual partners is not ideal wife material.

Why do people hate mathematics?
I concur with many of the answers here; the teachers suck at teaching it, it IS harder than a lot of other subjects and you can't get by on charm or cleverness - the answer is either right or it isn't and worse yet you have to PROVE it's right while you're at it. I would add another reason though and that is popular culture portrays math as dry and miserable (not to mention hard) and children...

Should Religious Symbols be Displayed on Public Property?
Religious symbols that are historical or traditional should be allowed to remain while new ones should be prevented.
It would be ludicrous to ban crosses from Arlington Cemetery.

how do nativists and previous immigration groups feel when a new group begins to emigrate?
Amused and tolerant until a certain critical mass is achieved after which they become wary and contemptuous. After which they just get used to the group. This is aided considerably by members of the group showing a willingness to adapt to their adopted country and and slowed dramatically by creating enclaves, marching and flouting convention.

Trust is something that is built over time. Because of her past she is starting out with a negative trust balance.

Albert Einstein was a brilliant scientist, an adequate producer of bon mots and a crappy husband - kind of a jerk really.
I don't think his political thoughts, brilliant though he was, amount to much.

It would be a mistake to suggest that Bush generated much in the way of goodwill from our allies, but Obama is burning through what's left of any goodwill we may have retained. If I ran Poland I'd seriously reconsider my 'alliance' with the US.
Answer to:
Do you agree that most British still feel at war with Germany and actuallly there is nothing but a cease-fire?
I don't know about 'most'. It's likely a generational thing. Younger people tend to view themselves as 'citizens of the world', regardless of how large portions of the world tend to view them as nothing of the kind. I lived in Okinawa for awhile. The oldest generation were very fond of Americans and hated the Japanese, the middle generation were largely indifferent and were busy going to work...

Any religious leader has the right to free speech. A church does not. The sanction against the church that published the 'don't vote for Clinton' piece was wrong to do so in that it was essentially a paid advertisement for his opposition.

Absolutely not. Should gay marriage be legal in the U.S.? Why or Why not?
Ultimately yes. But it should be enacted into law, not sued into existence. To do so will leave the country divided over the issue and it will take much, much longer for people to accept.
.
Gay people can already get civil unions that take care of most of the legalities of marriage. Before that they could adopt each other and...take care of most of the legalities of marriage.

I hope so. There are people who should be removed. Non-Christians, Agnostics, and Atheists. Are you offended by religious Christmas music?
No I like it although I strongly dislike 'Christian music' of recent vintage. It's usually poorly written, overwrought and somehow cheap. Christians tend not to judge it on the same merits as other music - or one might say that a new merit, earnest belief, trumps all others.
.

The King of Morocco has dutifully sacrificed a sheep to commemorate Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son as an act of religious obedience. Would you under any circumstances sacrifice one of your own children? If you did, would this be a crime?
Under no circumstances. And yes it would be a crime.
.
I find the story of Abraham and his son to be one of the least compelling Biblical stories. I've heard it wrestled with six-ways from Sunday (so to speak) but it always comes down to God being a bastard.

Comments to the contrary, I think your statement that we're 'pretty good at keeping faith in the church and out of government' is a fair one. Americans can openly believe any damn thing they want. Many people believe that regardless of how much of the initial downturn was Bush's fault, Obama exacerbated the situation with worse economic decisions than his predecessor.

Not that a five-year-old will necessarily understand what adoption means, and in fact they suggest telling them more than once. One site compared it to religious teaching - a parent...

There's an old saying, 'no one is safe when Congress is in session'. Point being that when a few hundred people can vote wars, conscription, taxes and punishment at will the notion of inaction being a bad thing doesn't actually apply.

Do U agree? 4 aspects of government: What Govt can do, what it can't do. What people may do. What they may not do. Democrats focus on what govt should do and what people can't do. Republicans focus on what people can do, and what govt should NOT do.
The four aspects of government model is useful for further dividing the political parties which helps explain why people sometimes switch and why there is disagreement withing the parties/philosophies.

Less car ownership, less commuting, more expensive gas, and (though counter-intuitive) fewer hazard warnings, pullouts and turning banks which make people assess their own risk as they drive.

OLDCW is right about there being relatively few places without speed limits. And my understanding was that if you were driving over 130 kph whatever happened as a result of it was all your fault.

Why do Christians feel the need to convince everyone that they are right? Are we not all entitled to our own opinions? Is their opinion better than anyone else's opinion?
Christians believe they have the Truth, not an opinion. They also believe that unless they give YOU the Truth you will suffer eternal torment. Eternal means it lasts a long time. And torment is unpleasant. Actually it lasts forever and torment is agony. This is horrible to them and that is why they come and tell you the 'good news': because they genuinely want to help you.

Rep. Joe "you lie" Wilson (R-SC) says President Obama has endangered American lives by not doing more to alleviate the nation's short supply of H1N1 vaccine. Did you know Wilson voted against funding vaccine funding?
Yeah, Wilson isn't my kinda people but here is an example of government and health care coming together.

Our government seems to believe (wrongly in my opinion) that H1N1 vaccine is desperately required. But it can't deliver. This despite the president - who has maintained that there is considerable urgency - and the House and Congress are all run by the same party. The bill...

Does it count as blasphemy if you don't have a religion?
It would count for God (if there is one). It certainly counts for believers in a specific God, though I don't know that most Christians would use the word blasphemy to describe something insulting to, for example, Mohammad. Nor would Mohammadans necessarily consider something insulting to Jesus to be blasphemous.

We all know the answer to that question. Sadly people don't realize that when you tax the shit out of a business it just makes their products either more expensive or more poorly made...or non-existent in the cases where they can no longer make a profit.

There is talk of dropping extra taxes on manufacturers of medical marvels such as pacemakers.

Why have we become more individualistic and less family-oriented as a whole?
Numerous reasons I would think. Religion used to lean on people to make babies, agrarian culture used to require people to have large families, as did the fact that only a few score years ago many babies were stillborn or died soon after birth. City living meant that people didn't have much room to have huge families while feminism (quite rightly) helped women have other options than the...

How do words make it in the dictionary?
Some of them hire readers to note the frequency of new word or new meaning use and then decide what goes in and what stays out. They want to avoid printing flash-in-the-pan slang if they can help it but they don't want to be all prissy about language either. 'Awesome' in the slang sense and 'rad' would likely be chosen while 'hella' probably would not.

Do you think that if something doesn't change soon, that white people will be the one's who are persecuted against, just as bad as black people were in the early 1900's?
The only 'persecution' white people face is that we can be the targets of mockery and ridicule - on tv - that, were it turned towards minorities, would be considered out of line.

No matter. We'll deal with that when we get there.

Are Agnostics happy and content with "not knowing" if God exist or would they rather "know" one way or the other if it could be verifiably proven? Also what kind of proof do they need? ..ie pictures of Heaven, face to face meeting with God or Jesus..etc?
There is no happiness in it and I suspect all would like to know for sure. But they don't want to falsely know, illusion won't do.

There are no good judges of the Miss America Pageant because there is no legitimate way to qualify the most 'American' female. It's sex and beauty and poise, all very appealing things but not in any way the measure of the best woman.

So yeah, he'll be no worse than any of the others and probably better than many.

While it is not mature to believe something because it is the opposite of what your parents believe it IS part of maturing. Not just taking their word for everything is the first step.
