Does the high low flip switch color tell the number of speeds on a semi truck transmission? if so what color determines what speed? I would sat if you only have one switch in the front of the handle it will more than likely be a ten or and eight speed. If you have two switch's one in the front of the handle, and one one the left side of the handle more than likely a 13 or an 18 speed.

I have a 96 s-10 with a 2.2L engine and recently had a timing chain installed and it runs like it is running on two cylenders,spitting and sputtering really bad the mac say hes haveing problems getting it in time,and can a bad coil cause this? Get a new mechanic

Is a motorist driving a U-Haul or other rental truck required to stop at truck weigh stations along the interstates? Man if i were renting a U-haul i would stop maybe they would DOT it, too many of themgoing down the road unsafe.

Why do drivers of 18 wheeler trucks keep the engines going all the time, even at freeway rest stops when they (the drivers) seem to be sleeping? Are the trucks really hard to start? Some of the reason depending on where you are but in winter months, it keeps the fuel warm <return fuel> so it does not gel up, miles from home.

Why do most 18-wheelers have manual transmissions instead of automatic transmissions? Well I can tell you being a mechanic, if i were to buy a truck i would stay away from the auto shifts, at our shop in the winter months you get green corroded wires, the truck will not shift into high range. Or the electrical motors on the top of the trans stop working, than it don't shift. How ever for a fllet that just wants to get guys out on the road the auto shift is the way to go,...
