Answer to:
If you love something, let it go. If it returns, it's yours. If it doesn't, it never was. How does this relate to your life?
I recall having had a small poster with this saying on it when I was a teen --- reading that saying every so often, among other things, did help me to break up with, and keep my distance from, an old boyfriend. ;)

where is good places in toronto ontario for a 11 year olds birthday party
Well, there are always the old standbys: the CN Tower, The Science Centre or The ROM (Royal Ontario Museum), for starters. Any one of them will keep kids happily occupied for hours. And The Science Centre often has live scheduled, interactive shows geared towards children just that age.
But what about trying something fun like The Medieval TImes? Cheer your fav horse riding jouster or...

Do you like red lipstick? Why or why not?
Yes. But I wear it sparingly --- not often, that is. (It also gives a greater effect when not worn all the time, though I don't know anyone who wears red lipstick ~all~ of the time.) I wanted to wear red lipstick over the holidays, but didn't have a good one on hand; what I wore one evening would have suited it well. Sometimes I'll just wear it for My Man, with the, uh, 'right outfit' at...

Do you find it hard to forgive people who have hurt you some times?
Sometimes it's harder than other times. I seek to always forgive, no matter what happened. (Not to say that I necessarily ~tell~ the other person that I forgave them if they don't ask or could care less.)
But forgiving doesn't mean putting oneself in harm's way or letting the offender reoffend.
It also wouldn't hurt for people to become more assertive in their friendships (not aggressive,...

You're both still very emotionally attached to one another. I found it extremely difficult to break up with my boyfriend when I was in my late teens. A lack of 'enforced routine' in one's day, as in 'I don't have work at the present, so I feel lazy.'
I ~don't~ have work at the present, and I ~do~ feel lazier than when I have had the routine of getting up for work everyday. ... I'm looking, but that can get discouraging, too.

It's Christmas morning, you open a gift from Aunt June and it is awful. Do you take it back, or keep it out of courtesy?
For me, it would depend on how Aunt Jane would see it --- if she's slightly insecure and woudl feel rejected if she thought I'd turn around and give it away, I'd hang on to it for a while and try to use it when she came over for a visit.
Otherwise, I'd regift it.

Snoopy-- he's Way Cool!
(Never was much of a Jack Nicholson fan, though I did like his performance in "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest". Do you think it is ok for parents to allow a young child to dress however they want? For example if a 5 year old boy would rather wear dresses and bows should the parents let him? Why?
I think parents should let their children play 'dressup' and let their son wear a dress a couple of times to know what its like and not become upset about that. However, we parents need to guide our children --- sons need to be taught what it is to be a heterosexual male and daughters what it is to be a heterosexual female. Its my understanding that this is what the Christian God has ordained...

I value them!

Answer to:
Christians: Do you think churches should ordain women? Would you attend a church that had a female pastor?
Yes and yes.
I am a conservative Christian who attends two churches, both of which have female ministers: the senior ordained minister of one church is a woman; the other church has couples who are ministers, though not ordained. In this latter church, its generally acknowledged within the congregation that the wife is the senior pastor because of the strength of her giftings.

Yes, sadly, more fathers force their daughters to have sex with them than the world would like to imagine.

Its called incest.
Its illegal.
It can irrevocably scars daughters for life.
Many daughters will never be able to have a healthy relationship with a man after their father ruins their lives like this.

Should parents allow their children to get tattoos?
In my humble opinion, parents should agree amongst themselves what their stance is on this and clearly and calmly discuss it with their children when the children are still young. They should explain the pros and cons to this decision and why they came to the conclusion they did. And once the children turn 17 or 18, the parents should let their children decide for themselves.

Answer to:
Hour many hours to cook a 17.90 lb turkey?
The rule of thumb, I believe, is a 1/2 hour for every pound, though the larger the turkey, the fewer the minutes per pound.
So then, my guess would be somewhere between 7 & 8 hours at around 350 degrees F. Though, I put mine in the oven at 425 degrees for the first half hour, uncovered and basted with butter, to seal in the juices. Then I turn it down to 350 for the rest of the...

I think its truer that we are so similar to those ancestors who have lived their lives before us. Okay- I strongly suspect that I'm bipolar, and I want help, but I'm kinda scared to go to a dr. because I'm a writer, and I heard that meds can kill your creativity, and that's pretty much my entire life. Is it true that meds hurt creativity?
In my experience, no, anti-depressant medication does not hurt creativity. I had been on an anti-depressant medication called parozitene (commonly known of as Paxil). While it did take several months to find the correct dosage balance, I'm so glad I did. I had been afraid that I wouldn't 'feel my emotions' any longer and also that the medication might hurt my creative...

You might look in the self-help section of your local bookstore and purchase a book you think would help, as a starting point.

Yes. I've prayed for total strangers who were standing stunned beside their cars only minutes after they got in a huge, multi-car pile up. Amazingly, no one died in that about 60 car crash. Disagree. Though it feels like that sometimes. I think being the kid is twice as hard --- we moms often have friends and faith to help us pull through. Maybe you just need to change your major, Comment.
Or do what I did: go part-time and work part-time --- worked for me. At that point I'd felt like I'd gone to school 'forever' & I wanted to enjoy my university courses once again. I had that option because I was going for my B.A. But if you're going for your B.Sc., that may not be a possibility.

Even a fun event, with much excitement, is considered stressful, though a chosen stress: you've had your 'mountaintop experience' and now you're coming down from the adrenalin heights, returning to everyday life. Yes. A $10, a $5 or a $20 bill, at times.

I decided through a long process of questioning it and my faith, in a reasoned way. (Bible school; does what's taught in the Holy Writ 'work' in real life; seen tons of miracles; on and on like this, for me.)

I've convinced there's only ONE race: its called "The Human Race."

A circular 'silo house' would likely cause the most conundrums for interior designers to decorate, which would be most entertaining to observe one struggle through this difficulty! ':D

As a house, it would be most efficient to heat. (Though, with construction materials being what they are, it wouldn't necessarily be the most efficient to build, unless you were in the far north and it were built out of ice, such as an igloo would be...)

Jordan, Riley, Logan and Morgan sound masculine to me. Probably because I've known of guys with these names. If I knew females with the same names, they'd probably sound more feminine to me. Interestingly, the names that end in "ey" also sound the most feminine to me, despite the fact that 'Riley' is in my masculine list.

I don't personally know much about karma.
But I am convinced that people reap what they sow, be it negative or positive. (Perhaps that's somewhat like karma.) In my understanding, if you 'sow harm' to yourself, you would likely also 'reap harm' to yourself at some point in your life or in the lives of those close to you.

I would have thought that oral history would be extremely flawed. Yet, as I've been reading this book on the Roma people, (BURY ME STANDING by Isabel Fonseca) I've been intrigued by how Roma from different areas in Europe & central Asia have basically the same stories, language, etc. even though Roma in different communities have absolutely no contact with one another.
