You should know style and quality by just looking at, or using the product. If you've got to tell someone the brand, have it hanging on the outside, embroidered into the clothes, or announce the label you are wearing, then you've been fleeced. Personal and original style needs no labels. ;-)

I thought the English adopted it from India (like pajamas). But according to dictionary.com the origin is French. There are many words of French origin used in English, including: gaga "crazy, silly," 1905, probably from Fr. gaga "senile, foolish."
