Answer to:
Is being a teenager harder or is being an adult harder? And why?
I believe it is harder being a teenager because your life is the result of other people's choices and values. As an adult you really do not have to let anyone in your life whose choices and values do not conform to your own. You have a choice. You may have to be around them from time to time but you do not have to associate with them.

If marijuana were legalized where you live, would you smoke it? Or administer it in any other way?
I see your point and don't disagree really. But drug screening is a fact and someone has to decide what is worth more to them. Frankly if I really wanted to smoke marijuana I would just be an entrepreneur. If you are self employed no need to worry about drug testing as long as your business associates don't care.
Answer to:

Do you think an important part of growing up and being a teenager is experimenting with drugs and going 'off the rails' a bit?
I tried putting this in comments twice and it would not take it. So I will put it in the answers.
The important thing to remember about experimenting with illegal drugs is that it makes you a criminal in the eyes of the law. Whether it should be illegal is not worth discussing as we need to deal with realities and not what " should be". In order to get the illegal drugs you will have...

The U.S.Pentagon says that it's the parent's fault that the youth are not wanting to enlist in the military. Is that true?
Probably. Nobody wants their child to die in a stupid war. The war against terrorism will be won by getting and acting upon good intellegence. Not in a pointless war. Of course if he wanted to join the Air Force or Navy that wouldn't be so bad although I admit I never would have joined anything but was drafted back in 72. Thank God people have a choice now.

Do you think an important part of growing up and being a teenager is experimenting with drugs and going 'off the rails' a bit?
No. I never did drugs of any kind when I was a teenager. Nor did I associate with anyone who did. There are plenty of other ways to "experiment" if one wants to. Such as getting a summer job in a National park or traveling throughtout Europe if one wants in some summer, by saving up the money spent on drugs and other useless things during the school year.

We became civilized because it provided a better quality of life for all of us. By me respecting your right to life and property and the security of your person and your mates, you provide the same to me. Otherwise it would just be a matter of each person taking by brute force what he wanted. I respect your rights because I want mine respected in return. For most people it works. For the rest...

Should Wicca be taught in the public school system? Why or why not?
No. I don't believe that my tax money should be used to teach another religion as I expect that they would object to their tax money being used to teach their children my religion. Their religion can be taught at their own expense if they have someone who wants to learn it. I never have had or do not now have any interest in Wicca. Why should I be forced to learn about it. Or my children.

The dog is probably happier than most "well fed" dogs. He can roam relatively freely and is not fenced in or tied up or caged in a house all the time. I'd rather roam free and get run over eventually than spend my life tied up all the time. As a dog or a man.

Unless someone is married then they are not married. I don't see buying someone a drink as anything more than getting a chance to have fun with someone. I don't really believe we are failing our male students. They have minds and are supposed to be capable of thinking with them. We don't condone it. We just need to accept the realization that every organization of men whether it is a religion, a government, or anything else that has survived long enough has committed wrongdoings that others can point to if it is on their agenda to do so.

If you went bankrupt and had all your belongings taken from you but $100.00 dollars what would you buy?
As a matter of fact being in that situation 30 years ago I invested $20 of it and bought a book called " The International Dictionary of Thoughts". It contained the great thoughts of the great men and women of the past. One of the best investments I ever made. It is on my bookshelf behind me still. I saved another $20, then filled up my car with gas and stuck back another $20 for gas...

Does all good answers come from experienced middle aged people, or can they also come from teenagers and young people?
I think intelligent answers can come from anyone but at the same time as most teenagers get their subjective opinions from other teenagers and the media they don't realize how distorted a view of the world they have. They are still young enough to believe that somehow they are "special" and that they can do the same stupid things others do and not suffer the consequences. Also as...

How do you class a guy that has intercourse with 8 females by the age of 20? Can he be loved?
Only 8? You are talking sex and not " in love". Big difference there. Anyone who has not had sex with more women than that did not get around much. Get real. What is important is if he was doing it while he was "with someone" or while not in a relationship. I personally avoided any "serious" relationship when I was younger because I did not want to get married. Too...

Can slavery ever be justified?
No. It always was a way for the rich to get labor at the least possible cost. Since most slaves were prisoners of war at first they were the victims of the conquering country which was exploiting the conquered territory. No. That would just result in "ratings wars". Frankly I think the policy of downrating someone without letting them know who you are or commenting anonomously is an accurate reflection of reality. No. Until someone is married they are still in the process of choosing. How can you make a good choice without dating different people? You are innocent until proven guilty. If you signed a ticket it is not an admission of guilt. It is only promising to appear in court at a later date. People can be found who will believe in almost anything if it is on someone's agenda to find them. Someone could find those who believe the earth has a hole in it at both poles and is hollow inside. But can't say how publishing the views of these people is helpful unless someone is on an agenda to do so. In order to ridicule one group or another.

Of course. Just avoid certain subjects around them. Easily done. I went with a womoman who was a fanatical Bush supporter because of his policy on abortion. After a heated discussion on the subject (because of my opposition to the war from the first instant) we just never talked about it again. Should people use religion as a way to become wealthy? Are you considered a hypocrite if you make money off of preaching to others?
I don't think they should but no doubt a small proportion do. But I don't think they are any more hypocritical than those who sell weight loss products. Or politicians for that matter. Who tell you what you want to hear to win the election and then just line their pockets and that of their supporters with tax money.

I would suppose it comes from other people were depending on them to be strong and deal with life. But other than that, not permitted.

Very bad. No. Quite the opposite. Being financially secure allows us to be in a position to maintain our integrity instead of having to do what we have to do just to survive. Do you really need to wash a T-shirt after each individual use?
Probably depends on where you live. In Colorado where the humidity was low I felt comfortable wearing something twice sometimes. In Texas in the summer it is so hot and humid everything you put on is soaked in perspiration 5 minutes after you put it on. So it needs washing even if you wore it for a short trip to the store.

Would AB survive without the point system?
It would survive and thrive beyond any doubt. Dozens of message boards thrive without any kind of points system. New initiates soon recognize who has knowledge to impart and frankly I believe the quality of the answers are better because people are judged solely on their answers. The points on here are more a measure of popularity and time spent answering and asking questions than anything else.

If you knew you were going to be late, or were running late for something, what, if any, warning would you give? What difference does the event make?
I always allow extra time for "things going wrong" in order to be on time for a meeting whether it is social or business. If for some unforeseeable reason (and traffic being bad is not unforeseeable) I was going to be late I would have the courtesy to call the other party on my cell phone and let them know. As to what a difference it makes that depends a great deal on whether the...

Why the most rich(not all) people don't help others who need help to survive?
Because they just plain don't care. The opposite of love is not hate but indifference. The rich live in their own world of gated communities and see to it that they do not have to see the suffering of the poor. One of their favorite expressions is " there are no victims". I would like to give a different answer. But thats just the plain truth. They just don't care.

Why is it when you excell at your job, you are expected to take on more responsiblity, rather than be allowed to keep your current work load?
If you really don't want the promotion you could try talking to your boss and explaining that you have a low stress threshold or something along those lines. Suggest someone else to him that you consider is capable of taking the position. Remind him that if he promotes you he will just have to fill the position you are currently doing with someone less capable. Many "promotions"...

Because ratings are just a popularity contest. Can a man cheat on his wife several times and still really love his wife? Does cheating mean there is a lack of communication in the relationship?
No. A man cannot love someone when they engage in extramarital sex and risk getting a venereal disease and transmitting it to their spouse. Or for that matter is willing to risk impregnating someone other than their spouse. Consider the complications this would cause if the “other woman” wants to keep the child and expects some support from the father. Or if the husband brings...

NO. As far as love if a woman doesn't want me as much as I want her then there is no sense in either of us wasting our time. Too much else out there available. As far as war fairness never is a consideration. It is about surviving or accomplishing national goals. Is the objective worth the moral, financial, and human cost. Unfortunatly the people making these decisions no longer place...

If God is in fact real don't you think he's bit of a f*ck up?
No. I think most people are too lazy in learning and don't really try to understand the world. They just gather their view of life from movies, and watching garbage on TV. So naturally they have a very negative and unrealistic view of the world. Get out the door and look around. The world is a wonderful place.

Senator Hillary Clinton just announced on her website that she will be officially running for the office of president of the United States in 2008. Would you vote for her? Thoughts?
I don't really believe she will get the nomination anyway. My primary consideration in deciding who to vote for would be whether the Republican candidate wanted to keep on fighting in Iraq or not. I have no doubt that Bush will stall for the next 2 years and pass it on to the next President. If the choice is a Democrat or another 4 to 8 years in Iraq I would vote for the Democrat.

What is better adult, teenager or kid?
An adult. You have greater control over your life and as long as you don't do something stupid that locks you in to crippling financial or family obligations you can take the good and leave off the bad. And you can choose who you can have or not have in your life.

What happened to Mel Gibson? He's become anti-semetic, a real jerk, and above all apathetic, he cares not that he's a dick, only that people disagree with him (well, "some people" do) ...he made braveheart...BRAVEHEART...wha happen'd?
I would say he is going through his midlife crises. In their fifties it sinks in for most men that they really are going to die same as everyone else. There is a part of everyones mind that somehow doesn't accept this fact up till then. It is especially hard for very succesful people to accept that they are not special after all and that everything they have spent a lifetime building will...

Why do schools teach evolution, but say we do not teach any one belief or religion. i myself am christian, and i do not uderstand why they teach evolution. all the stuff that humans came from apes, i dont belive it and i dont want them to teach it.
I can't speak for the Austrailians on this board but in American PUBLIC schools we cannot teach any religious explanation of how people came to be because of the Doctrine of the Seperation of Church and State. The public schools teach the THEORY of evoloution and must leave it up to the parents to choose what religious belief they wish to impart to their children if any. Like most things...

Be creative. If you were homeless and had to stand on a street corner with a cardboard sign, what would you write?
Can't say that I would ever do it. There are too many ways to make money easier but I suppose If I did it on a dare and was going to donate the money to the Salvation Army I would say "Downsized, Overqualified " And I would be clean and wear a suit. And I would make up a new sign every day. I've seen guys on streetcorners with old, dirty worn out signs that said "out of...

Why did American soldiers kill innocent people at My Lai in 1968?
I suppose the most accurate answer would be that sometimes things just get out of hand.
Atrocities have occured in every war commited by every army.
My University professor told me of how he was ordered to kill anything that moved (men, women, children, cats, dogs, rats, anything) in a town in Germany in World War II.
All that really needs to occur is for the soldiers to believe that they...

Truly and honestly, how much do you think fear controls our lives?
I think people who watch a lot of TV probably have a lot more fears than those who don't. I don't watch much TV except that I record the nightly news and Letterman and Craig Fergeson on my DVD recorder and watch the parts I want later at night. My primary outside imput is reading so I skip much of the trash peaple have put in their mind by TV. TV is one of the greatest fear mongers of...

How do you deal with nasty people? I often get enraged by people who do not have minimum sense of decent behaviour outside home and creates discomfort for other people. What is your strategy for dealing with such people?
I avoid them as much as possible. While it is not always possible, having to associate with rude and ignorant people can be minimized. For instance I try to shop at times I have researched out to be the least crowded time of day, usually during working hours for most people or late at night for 24 hour stores.
I always have some "homework" with me that I study while waiting in...

Can you be arrested for not making your car payment?
Ususlly what occurs if you don't make car payments is that the car is reposessed and then resold at a public auction for a low price and then you are sued for the difference. If you are only a payment or so behind your best course is to go talk to your creditor and see if you can work something out.
If you think your car is going to be repoed anyway the best thing to do is to clean it...

If you accidentally threw up on a police officer can you get aressted for doing so?
If it really was an accident the officer would certainly be annoyed but probably not arrest you for that. He might arrest you for Public Intoxication though if that were the case.
I wouldn't consider the case of someone getting drunk and then throwing up on me as an "accident". Just them being stupid.

A friend of mine told me that she saw my boyfriend cheating or with someone else. Is it my business to know who that someone else was?
Yes because that "someone else" may have a venereal disease. If he is having sex with her he may transmit it to you. It is very much your business to know if he has other sex partners and who they are.

Same with you sleeping with someone else. You've already checked out just not moved on.

The government which we have installed in Iraq is one of the Shiite majority which is currently trying to get control of its army so that it can use it to supress the Sunni militias. I would say that if someone doesn't call you in a week they don't respect you. I would say if they care about you they would call at least every 3 days unless they are on submarine duty or something.
If they call only once a week or so you are "just a friend".

Do you think you know more than most people, less than most people, or about the same as most people?
I know more than most people beyond any doubt because my knowledge is based on doing my homework whenever I want to know about something rather than talking to others. Most people gather their knowledge from talking to other people who have not done their homework on anything either. The majority of people have gotten their view of the world from programming on TV and not taken the time to do...

Why dont boys have as many feelings twoards girls and girls have a lot more feelings twoards boys?
Because biologically speaking once a boy impregnates a girl as far as nature is concerned he is unnecessary. The girl can take care of and raise the child if he is killed in war, a fight, or hunting. Nature doesn’t care if you love each other or even like each other. Nature just wants the species to endure.
Natures aim from the girls side is that she has a much greater chance of survival...

No. It serves the interest of both countries governments to keep their people focused on foreign enemies rather than problems at home. But you really don't want to start a war you just want to create a climate of fear so that the people will feel they need their governments to "protect" them.

I would imagine a military well aware of the political sensitivity of prosecuting such a person would avoid criminal prosecution. It would be handled by administrative means. Reduction in rank. Whether it is right or wrong is not the point.
Every time she or you sleep with another sex partner the possibility is raised that one of you will contract a venereal disease and transmit it to the other. That and the assurance of parentage is the real reason for having one partner.
It is not a moral issue. It is a health issue.

You said his name was on the lease, not yours. So they cannot sue you for it. They might try to Bluff you and threaten to sue but it is all a bluff.
I fail to understand why you are even hesitating to leave. What possession that you may lose is worth more than your life and that of the child.
