What is a great electric gutar amp, that is ment to play hard rock, metal music? Most tube amps will give you better tone than a solid state amp. This is the real issue though. A large amp turned down will not sounds as good as a small amp turned up. This is realy important when considering a tube amp. That and I always handle my effects with pedals. I never buy an amp with effects on board. Other than that, you really need to try them all.

I'm in a band and there are 2 guitarists. I'm 1 of them. I play lead and the other rhythm. He plays a Gibson SG special faded and I play an Ibanez RGR420EX. His sound is always sharper/more cutting than mine. Why is this? I am an Ibanez freak, I own ten right now. These two guitars will sound different. Different pickups and woods are to blame. However, many players prefer the flat 24 fret neck and the high output pickups in your RG over the SG. In the end, you'll need to decide which has the sound for you. Good luck.

I have a Fender Jazz Bass. The strings get further away from the fretboard as they near the body. I can manually bend the neck back so that the strings are more parallel with the fretboard, but I don't know of a way to permanently fix it. Any ideas? try adjusting the truss rod. As you are looking at the guitar, clockwise will straighten the neck while counter clockwise will put more bend in it.

I need a new cello bow, but can't afford anything over 120 bucks. I see many nice carbon fibre bows on ebay, anyone have experience with these? I know expensive wood will sound better, but price is fixed for me. Any suggestions are appreciated! I am thinking that the material the bow is made of would have an enourmous affect on the tone of your cello. The stiffer the material, the brighter the sound. Unless the bow is made to emulate the chartacteristic of your wooden bow, it's gonna sound different. If you are buying from a local store simply cart your cello there and try out the bow before you buy. Good luck!

When I start up my computer the green light comes on. However it makes no sound or indication that it is booting. The monitor stays in standby and I get nothing. What can I do to fix this? Dead skin can get crammed into the windings and take the "bright" sound away. This is normal wear and when you hear the bright sound start to dissapear, change your strings.

We are currently having band practice at my house in a small extra bedroom with plaster walls. A guitar amp at even moderate volume is deafening. Dampening should be my goal, correct? Is there an affordable sound dampening material to apply to thewalls? You guys are WAY off base here. Covering the walls with sound absorbing insulation will only stop the sound from getting out of the room. Those still in the room will still suffer from bleeding ears. Another factor to consider is the lack of feel you'll have with the EMG's. They either produce sound or they don't, no soft tones in between. If its a real Gibson it will have a serial number engraved in the wood. All Gibsons have this number and its allways their. For Vodoo Chile he used a simple Wah and, to me, a simple Blues driver from Boss.
