pitbulls are very loyal dogs, that only grow temperamental when they are protecting something. i think that they are great dogs if you need protection. they can be okay if they are raised around more than one person, but an addition to the family might not go over very well, since they are very protective. but yes, training any dog early on is a good idea.

when they come in the door, ask them to please take off their shoes. if they are only staying for a short time and taking off their shoes are really an inconvenience, ask them to wipe their feet. it is your feet, and after all, you will most likely be cleaning up the dirt that they track in, so it is not confrontational at all to ask them to wipe their feet.

at that point, it is up to the new person on how i act. they set the tone for how i blend in. if they are totally crazy and out there, i am right along side them. if they are semi-friendly, i say a little bit. if they dont even acknowledge me, i dont say anything at all, or introduce myself, and then excuse myself.

i personally think it depends on how close you are with this person. now it may be the case that they were planning on getting you something already/ or there was the chance that they really didnt want to get you anything. if you expect something particular, at least have money on hand. if not, dont bother. if it is sprained/bruised/broken or anything like that, then yes, it does make sense. if this only happens in your ring finger, solution: take off your ring. if your ring is tight, the blood flow is pulsing in that finger alone, trapped because of your ring. take it off, massage your finger a little, and maybe put some ice on it. then think about resizing your ring.
