I have heard it many times and I would have to say it does not work, although everyone is different, and there are many many other factors involved such as tolerance, body weight, food consumption, how fast you drink etc. etc. It's kinda like the saying early to bed early to rise, that doesn't always work either, sometimes it's early to bed sleep til noon.

I tend to think it was man who created God in his image and that the likelyhood of intelligent life beyond our own planet is infinitely more likely to exist than any one of the 4 million gods that have been made up here on earth. But putting all that aside and assuming some god created himself, then us in his image...dogs and horses and butterflies are living species right here among us that...

Is it fair for government to spend tax dollars any way it sees fit, even if it funds things you wouldn't approve of?
It probably depends on the type of government and the specific situation taking place, sometimes it may seem fair, other times it may be unfair, but life is more often than not unfair by nature. In a democracy atleast, it's majority rules, and at times I'm going to be in the minority and lacking in approval on certain issues but I still accept the process as being fair.

Do you think it is important to comment on answers given to your questions?
I think it's important to make some form of acknowledgement as often as possible, it's the decent and social thing to do, but if ya don't sometimes I don't think most people would be horribly offended. It's not very important to me personally if I'm acknowledged for answering questions or not, I'm just content not to be yelled at and called names.

As an atheist, do you ever get tempted to start believing in God?
I'm never tempted to believe in any of the gods people claim to know or to have known, as far as I'm concerned these are all made up. I am sometimes tempted to believe there may be a god or some other creative intelligence but if there is it is clear to me it does not wish to be known, nor does it have our best interest in mind. However, I rarely entertain that notion for too long.

No, I pretty much rely on myself for that. Based on the religions I know anything about they appear to be pretty bad sources of guidance unless you just wanna cherrypick, but to me that's pretty much the same thing as guiding yourself.

I am 17 years old and just started my freshman year in college. I am pretty sure that I am about 3 weeks pregnant and don't know what to do.
The first thing to do is to be sure as opposed to pretty sure. I have known alot of females who were pretty sure on several occassions and have no children. If you are pregnant then mini_kitt pretty much summed it up.

My puppy will be a year old in october, he has been eating his own poo since i brought him home but now out of the blue he has been cocking his leg and peeing on my 6 month old grandson and everytime i get his leash out he just starts peeing on himself
That's why dogs don't rule the planet. He may grow out of that stuff naturally, or he may have some psychological disorders. You could try asking if there is a veterinarian in the answer bag house and get professional advice perhaps. In the meantime it may be a good idea to keep the pup away from the baby. Then again, babies have no remorse for peeing on other people.

Now this is a question. OK if a female was married and she wanted to have intercourse at her honeymoon night but doesn't want a baby any time soon, she doesn't want to use a condom or anytype of contraception - how does she prevent getting pregnant?
There's never any guarantee pregnancy will be prevented using contraceptives if semen comes into contact with a vagina. Keep in mind that this can happen even without intercourse. Attempting the "pull out" method really offers very little peace of mind for two reasons, firstly it's easier said than done and secondly semen generally discharges frequently before and during...

Why are there So many people wanting to breed two mixed breeds to make a Heinz 57 breed just for the experience, Do they think it is fun to play with LIFE?
I've never heard of this, I have no idea why someone would mix breeds just for the experience, that sounds really odd to me. I don't think it would be considered playing with life though, different breeds mate naturally without human intervention every 13 seconds anyways. I don't see any difference between breeding pure bred dogs together and breeding mixed breeds together as far...
Answer to:
Give me four reasons why your hands should be clean and soft when giving a client a massage
Business will be very slow if your hands are dirty and rough.
It's very unprofessional.
Cleanliness is best in any situation due to the spread of germs and infection, not to mention clients don't want your poop on their bare skin.
Rough hands tend to feel unpleasant which is exactly the opposite of what a client wants and expects from a massage.

I'd say your chances are very good. It is possible that you'll fail, you can never be sure, but based on the tiny amount you say you used it is unlikely that it will be detected. For a little extra insurance it can help to drink a gallon of water over the course of 2 or 3 hours prior to the urinalysis. It will flush the kidneys and bladder and also dilute the urine. Try to make sure...

What is the difference between kissing with tongue and kissing without tongue? Which one feels better ? Why?
For the most part it is self explanatory, one is with tongue and the other isn't. French kissing, which is kissing using tongues, involves a greater degree of difficulty and cooperation. Not only are the lips kissing but the tongues are also getting to know each other. Good oral hygiene is a must. If your kissing partner has halitosis I recommend pucker and peck.

If it were determined that sexual activity is the source of 90% of all diseases, and that no "safe sex" practices exist -- would you continue to be sexually active?
Yeah, at the present stage of human evolution the sex drive generally overrides logic in order to ensure survival of the species. I've never contracted a disease from sexual activity or otherwise and I'm monogamous so even in light of the new information relating 90 percent of all diseases to sexual activity I would personally see no reason to abstain.

Is it true that there are girls that sacrifice alot of things (eg. a golden opportunity for a high paying career , give up study time 4 important exams , relationships between family & friends etc.) becus they love their guy n simply wan to be wit him?
Sure, it happens everyday. It's all about priorities, some people value relationships and loved ones over anything else including money, careers, and education. Which probably isn't such a bad thing, in the end most of us are not remembered for how much money we made, or our jobs, or how far we got in school, but for the bonds and relationships formed with others throughout our lives...

Substitute my girlfriend for answerbag and I could ask myself the same question. She's not an old bag yet, but she will be one day.

How can I forget about someone I love so much? My wife doesnt love me but im still very inlove with her. I need to forget that she will ever come back.
It's unlikely that you will ever forget, but time helps us heal, life goes on and so must we. It's tough, but we have little choice. Love has always been a double edged sword, a blessing and a curse. Family and friends can help us get through the rough times and there's always a good chance that we will love again.

If the moon has a gravetatilnal pull on the earth (tides) then why does it orbit the earth not the earth orbit it?
Everything has a gravitational pull on everything else as long as the things are within each other's gravitational field. The moon has a gravitational effect on earth but earth has a gravitational effect on the moon as well, but since the earth is much larger in mass it's gravitational pull far exceeds that of the moon, therefore the moon orbits earth and not the other way around.

Americans are proud to be American, simply put, because we earned the right to be. If you don't know why and you don't understand how then pick up an American history book or two and educate yourself.

Do you think Americans should still be proud of who they are?
Any American who isn't is more than welcome to exit, and any non-American who thinks we shouldn't can stay out. Hundreds of thousands of Americans gave their lives for what they knew was right, to protect our way of life for future generations. Nobody ever said we're a...

This is the type of situation where I always screw it up. I really wish I knew. I know what I would do but it's never what I should do. I guess if she's causing problems between you and your woman then she's not being a very good friend to you. I don't think I've ever heard anyone say porn was quite healthy for a man. I don't think I would say porn is healthy or unhealthy. Addictions generally are not good things, but alot of good things can become addictions, eating for example, eating can become an addiction but eating is still probably a good thing. Yeah, it is definitely a setup. In the first place it seems pointless to create a tree of knowledge on earth if not for the benefit of man. Second, if he honestly did not want them to mess with it he could have put it out of their reach. Not to mention the fact that he claims to know what's going to happen before it happens because he's all knowing. I would say he's stupid but he...

Safely and voluntarily are really irrelevant in this case. There is a certain level of respect and dignity that all humans, rightly, ought to be treated with and stuffing people in suitcases in order to save money clearly violates that. And since we're talking about children it is especially wrong, children are too young to know what is in their best interest. Even if it is voluntary on...

I've only known one woman who made it clear to me that she never wanted flowers, and that diamonds were not her best friend. She didn't want someone killing flowers for her benefit and won't accept diamonds due to the fact that there is slavery involved in the mining of them. At what point does 'new' become 'old'?
I don't think there really is a point that something goes from new to old. I think there is a period of time that something is new then the newness wears off and it's no longer new, but it's not instantly old at this point. There is a grace period between new and old. It's mainly based on personal opinion.

Some of them may enjoy being at work so much that they don't want the time to pass quickly, they want to savor every waking second there at work. Although with the majority of people it's simply lack of motivation. Both self motivation and outside motivation from their employer. It usually means they don't like much about their job other than payday.

It went from 50 to 40 since you last asked this question, this must really be a burning question for you. I think 40 lions would be little match for T Rex, at 40 ft. long, 20 ft. tall, and up to 7 tons. At any given time I would guess only half that number could actually be attacking him while posing a serious threat. His massive jaws, claws, and intense strength would assure a T Rex victory...

Yeah I guess, if people wanted to know. Most atheists are atheistic about all gods, it probably seems like Christianity is the one they pick on most for a couple reasons. What I mean to say is I think most atheists were Christians or were taught Christianity before claiming atheism.

Being loved without a true understanding of what it means would be tragic. Knowing love is the greatest gift, the only way to truly know, understand, and fully appreciate it is by feeling it for...

If you were forced to go out naked in public, which would you cover: your face or your body?
Taking into account the shrinkage factor, assuming I am sober, one hand would easily cover the frontal view leaving the other hand free for just enough facial coverage to lessen the chances of facial recognition while still being able to see where I'm going.

What is the chance that aliens do exist?
It depends on which definition for aliens you're using. An alien can be a person from a foreign country inside your country and they do exist. I think you most likely are referring to extra terrestrial lifeforms which began their life somewhere other than Earth. In which case there is no undeniable proof of their existence nor their non-existence. But given the mathematical probability of...

Definitely a genie, leprechauns do not want to be found or captured, they are greedy, selfish, and ill-tempered generally and will cross you the first chance they get. Whereas, on the other hand, genies are generally much easier to get along with. Most times the genie is imprisoned and by being discovered and granting 3 wishes they will be freed which is usually motive enough to hold up their...

Yes, a few times between junior high and high school. Details are sort of fuzzy, but one of them had punched me in the chest because I didn't have the money I owed him when he wanted it and had bullied me several times after that and eventually he made me mad enough I took a swing at him. I remember another kid in high school who didn't like me for some reason told me he was going to...

If i concentrate for long enough can i move an object with my mind?
One definition of "mind" is that which is responsible for one's thoughts and feelings; the seat of the faculty of reason. A person could make a strong argument that a thought is generated in the mind to move an arm and the neurological impulses from the brain instruct the arm to move, and when the arm moves it knocks over a lamp, in one sense it is true that an object was moved...

No, not usually. Pet stores, in the United States at the very least, are required by law, if not decency and common sense, to ensure the animals they sell are free from disease. Rats from a pet store which are healthy usually are not dangerous nor do they usually exhibit symptoms of rabies.

If you a complete athiest, and don't believe in God, but you pray to him to do well on the next test, or to have something go right in your life, does that make you a hypocrite?
Not necessarily. First let me say that just because an atheist believes there is no god does not mean that there is no god and he may be fully aware of that fact and willing to admit that he might be wrong, afterall, when it comes right down to it nobody really knows for certain despite what they may believe. A complete atheist may find himself in a desperate situation where he feels like his...

Do you believe in the statement "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" when referring to not needing to get married because a relationship is already good (or in other words, "not broke"?
If a relationship is not already good I doubt marriage in itself is going to make it good. If a relationship is bad, marriage is not the next logical step. Marriage is not necessary to make a relationship good. Marriage and the value put on it mean different things to different people. Personally I do not think it is a necessity at all. In fact, I believe relationships would statistically last...

If the bible is true then in theory I think the answer would be yes. But, it seems apparent to me that God went out of his way to ensure they ate the fruit. God knew in advance they would eat it if he put it there, yet he put it there anyways, and proceeds to be surprised and upset by an outcome he knew would happen and therefore caused himself.

The trick is to make up a god that will stand the test of time, science, and common sense. When the Roman gods were made up there wasn't much knowledge on the solar system or the laws of the universe, so they were plausible explanations at the time. But eventually people realized the sun did not need a god to work on its own, they realized the true origin of lightning and so on. Today...

I think most atheists would answer "I don't know." The Big Bang is a theory, it's not presented as definite fact, there is much evidence and scientific data to support the theory however. In any event I think it's better to admit not knowing for sure than to claim unpossessed knowledge.

Yes addiction is a brain disease. Although many people do not grasp a basic understanding of what that means. Why are people so quick to judge others?
It is human nature, the 'observer' part of us is constantly analyzing everything and everyone around us. Some of us are just more aware or conscious of it. For most of us our logic and reasoning tends to filter out the less important observations and focus on what's really important, but for many it takes a while for their reasoning and logic to catch up to them.

No one has the right to murder, seems to defeat the purpose to respond to evil with evil. Both are wrong, both are evil. In the end the good, the just, and the right must prevail, otherwise at the end of the day it's evil fighting evil. Then I would have to wonder what the point of fighting for the good would be. It's hipocritical justice and we must not let the bad seeds in life take...

Where do you stand on Pro-Choice versus Pro-Life? Why? What stage is something considered living?
I'm pro choice all the way. Right, wrong, or indifferent I will not be controlled by anyone and my choices will not be made for me. So I would not force my choice on someone else. Personally I wish someone would have consulted me and gave me the choice if I wanted to join this circus or not, perhaps life should not be forced on someone in the same way death should not.

It's government intervention, they implement the patriot act to ensure nobody gets too wise on the subject of drugs. What does it mean ~ to lose one's mind? Where does it go?
It dissipates into nothingness and darker forces seize control of the void. The you that once was, is a distant memory, what once was bright is now very dim and although the face in the mirror remains the same, there's something very different and sinister in the eyes looking back at you and you wonder who it is and where you went.

Do you "believe" in love?
I believe love is a concept, not a true emotion, and that it does not exist outside of the human brain. It is the bi-product of a highly evolved consciousness, chemical reactions in the brain, and strong natural survival, reproductive and sociological instincts. I feel as the human brain evolves over time that the concept of love will no longer be necessary and will fade out into non-existence.

Does it matter to you what religion your friends are?
Not so much what religion they are, but how devoutly they believe might be a factor, it's hard to be friends with someone who constantly reminds me I'm going to hell if I don't get on my knees and pretend to blow the invisible man.

Basically he means that everyone has their own unique views and perspectives on every aspect of life and it doesn't mean there's only one right view. Try to see things from different perspectives and you just might learn something.

There are several claims in the bible that clearly contradict each other. God claims he sees the past, present, and future all at once. The problem I see with the question is 'an undeniable proof of existence'. Here's the thing, our senses and our brains are not perfect. Some dogs, more common in labs and pugs, whine for short periods of time after receiving a "gift". I'm not sure why, but they have an instinctive need to hide the toy or treat. They whine because their instinct is telling them to hide it but they don't understand it, they're not sure what they are supposed to do. Dogs still have alot of leftover instincts and behavior...

Assuming heaven exists the way religious teachings would have us believe there is no possible way this could be heaven. There is one key rule being broken, sin, it's not allowed there. Not to mention all the suffering, death and destruction that goes on endlessly. And God still chooses to remain hidden from us. If this is heaven then God is an evil, sadistic liar........even moreso than...

My dad grabbed me by my throat once when I was 15 or 16. That was one of the few times growing up that I was stupid enough to test him. Had I been much dumber than I actually was I guess I'd be sitting here typing all night.

How do you "lose" a thought? Where does it go?
All thoughts are stored as energy...or memory in the brain, so every thought you have ever had consciously or otherwise is in there somewhere. There are many causes as to why memories seem to be lost or impossible to retrieve, in my case it is neurotoxins. My synapses do not fire on all cylinders these days so trying to remember anything past this morning is difficult.

Try https://proxify.net/r/?s=google.1b It's limited access unless you pay for it though so everything may not work. Another thing, is if your school uses IE sometimes if you run Firefox off of a flash drive that will get around it. Another way is to find the actual IP address of the site and type the IP instead of the URL

Rest is a great option, you should rethink that one. Alcohol travels and absorbs more quickly in lighter people because there is less of them. Tolerance plays a role as...

My girlfriend lets guys touch her and hit on her. She doesn't listen when I tell her to stop. Is this considered cheating?
Everyone has their own definition of cheating, it seems you two have differing views. I'd go with yes, she's cheating, but if it's not obvious enough I have some ocean front property in Arizona, George.
Answer to:
When encountering a nonChristian, why do so many Christians give the "Hellfire and brimstone" speech cautioning us on Hell? Is this really the impression of the religion they wish to give? Do they really think that we've never heard it before?
To put it briefly and bluntly, Christians are brainwashed and threatened from birth, the trait is passed on to many of them, and thus the cycle continues. This method worked out great for the original brainwashers.

What do you believe or hold most dear that, if proved to be wrong or a lie, would shake you to your core?
In the extremely improbable event that any god is proven to exist. That would worry me, because if it's intelligent and powerful enough to create this universe purely by will, not to mention possessing all knowledge, and this right here is the best it could do? What a loser. I couldn't imagine a mind more sadistic and evil if I tried.

Answer to:
Why do people have to die?
Imagine a world of increasingly reproductive humans that do not die. Think overpopulation is a problem now? The only way for life to exist is for life to end. Nature is indiscriminate, we humans are shown no favoritism. Our greatest blessing is our ultimate curse.

While in the fast lane behind a slow driver if you could shout at them what would you say?
I'm never in that much of a hurry. Frankly I don't equate the value of shaving 5 minutes off my commute to the value of my life and those around me. So I'd probably say "Right on old dude, we all need to just slow down a little sometimes."
Answer to:
If you watch porn, are you automatically immoral?
Porn really has nothing to do with it. If you are human you are automatically immoral. Assuming there is such a thing as morality. I tend to view morality, immorality, good, and evil as being non-existent in reality. These are only concepts, or side effects, of higher brain function.
