I can't remember any food ever being thrown out. If there were leftovers, Mother would serve them at subsequent meals until they were finally gone. No food ever was there long enough to go bad. Medical professionals are human. There is a chance you were misdiagnosed. If you were, however, you should be more careful of the answers you give to questions, and the symptoms you describe. Doctors who have to make a diagnosis based on verbal information and not any type of physical test can only use the information they are given and see.

Here, the pantry is the safe place. The best way to survive is to avoid being hit by flying debris. More people are killed by flying or falling objects than by the actual tornado itself.
