Answer to:
Has your house ever been struck by lightening? What damage occured?
Struck my well one time. I guess the well, being 330 ft deep, was a pretty good ground....fried the well pump which needed to be replaced.
Also experienced lightning hitting a generator supplying a signal rig when I was in the military. It fried every circuit in the generator and the rig attached to it. Shorted out the wires by melting the insulation.
Answer to:
what temperature would it be if the weatherman said it'd be twice as cold tomorrow and it was 0 degrees celcious today...?
Well, we could convert to Kelvin, so 0 celsius would be 273 Kelvin. But it doesn't really matter because weathermen have been known to lie, or exaggerate the truth, and cold is relative to individuals. 40 degrees Farenheit is freaky cold for people in Los Angeles or Miami, but downright comfortable for people in Alaska.

How do you compose guitar solo's for different songs?,I mean, you cant just throw in a bunch of keys for any song, the solo and the song has to like '"match"',please explain?
Gotta come from the heart, or from the soul, or better yet, both.
Answer to:
What do you you think the best guitar solo ever is - not in terms of technical difficulty but in the way that it fits in with and compliments the rest of the song?
I'm kinda partial to Slash's in "Sweet Child Of Mine". At least these days. Or maybe Henry Garza in "Heaven". Or maybe Joe Walsh in "Life's Been Good" or "Life in the Fast Lane". Or maybe.......

Answer to:
Why, on an electric guitar, is it said that soloing is easier in Drop D tuning, rather than standard?
With a drop D bass string *instead of E*, if you accidentally hit one of the lower strings while soloing, it is less likely to interfere with the harmonics of the playing string, and might even help somewhat, and that somewhat can be used to advantage with skill.

How do you set up a guitar to be tuned a step below or multiple steps below drop d?
There are capo's you can get to help with this, and there are electronically enhanced guitars that you can tune normally and have the sound electronically changed to the tuning you want. Freaky good stuff, but they'rein the thousand dollar range. Capo's are only tens of dollars......

I've always loved the sound of the bass guitar and I am wanting to buy one, but I'm not sure which one to buy.
Well, a very tuff ? y'know. HAve you played any other instruments, like violin or guitar? How much do you want to spend? You can start with 4 and work up, or start with 6 and work down. Most BIG TIME bass players also play guitar. And they tune their bass HOWEVER the flock they want. Bottom 4 of the guitar, top 4 of the guitar, MIDDLE 4 of the guitar, or something off the wall as well....
Answer to:
Why will a guitar string buzz? I pick the string hard and on its last seconds of sounding it begins to tremble and buzz. Is it not tuned correctly, or am I picking strings too hard?
Ooops, this was supposed to be a comment for Greg's answer.
Agree, you may have too much "action" on that string for the way you play. You may need to raise that string or replace it with a different gauge to get the action you deserve for your style.
Answer to:
I need to know the Htz measurement of all strings on a tuned 6 string guitar. Thanks. Ron. :-)
It hurts for me to answer your question without answering it. Specifically, there are multiple ways to tune any stringed instrument. If you are referring to a standard tuning for a guitar, sorry to say, but you'd be better off on Google or Ask or Yahoo. I might get back to you if my Korg tuner displays freaks.
Looks like they're in the 440 hurts range.....why? Are you planning to jam?????

If space is expanding and we were once infinitely small and will become infinitely large then is it logical to theorize there may be infinitely small universes behind us as well as infinitely large universes ahead of us and that the Big Bang is perpetual?
Space and Time are related. Based on our perspective (our frame of reference), it is impossible to determine "infinitely small", "infinitely large", or "infinite in duration". We can only sample from our frame of reference. The Hubble gives/gave us a slightly expanded frame of reference, but we are still restricted to the distortion of space-time in our local...

How could Jesus be a teacher without learning something first? Could it be possible that he was a devious child? Could it be that the inner devil tempted him in the dessert and not actually Satan? Could Satan be our inner child? I am an atheist by the way
WOW. 4 questions at once. So four questions back at you. Could it be that Jesus, being the son of God, knew everything already? Could it be that he was perfect in soul but in a human body? Could it be, that he actually resisted the temptation of the Devil, as is written in the Bible? Could it be, that you are not an Atheist since you believe Satan exists?

I can teach someone to do something and help them solve their problems..and usually they are able to break through.. but i can't solve my own problems.. Is it possible?? Why?
Of course. You can't teach yourself. Experience can teach you, and you can learn from books and other media created by others, but you can't change your perspective on your own. You need an external influence to create change. Newton's Law. An object a rest will remain at rest unless acted on by an external force.

A realistic goal would be 5 pound per MONTH. You could probably do that on diet alone. Exercise will make you more fit, but muscle weighs more than fat, about twice as much, but it's more dense, and takes up less space. So you look more fit, but weigh more (or the same).

Make sure they understand your philosophy and that they realize it's a game, and if one of them dies, it's not an attack on them as a couple in real life. It's just a game. Isn't it?

How do you find the strength to leave someone you love very much if you know they are wrong for you? Do you follow your heart or be realistic, even if it hurts?
I left someone around this time last year. I still love her very much, but it was becoming clear to me that we didn't have what it takes to last, and I needed to get on with my search for a lasting soul mate. Not sure she fully understands yet, and we are still friends. And who knows what the future will hold? Perhaps she is still right for me, but not Ms. Right right now.

There is a rolling limit of a certain number of points per member per week. If you give all your points on a Friday to that member, then you will be "refilled" the next Friday. If you're giving a little here, a little there, you will refill "a little here, a little there". (Disclaimer - This I learned via experience and experimentation - I don't work for AB)

The probability is somewhere between 0% and 100%. Did you play any HS or semi-pro ball? If not, you're not likely to start, at least initially, as you'll need to pick up certain "game sense" aspects. It also depends which college. I doubt you'll walk in and start on any top 50 football schools.

This is a sign that the ear in question has been possessed by a demon or evil spirit. You should not listen from that ear. A NY Times polls shows Americans are feeling more optimistic about the economy since the inauguration. How do you feel and how does this news effect all the doom & gloomers here?
I think after the change of leadership from Cheney-Bush to Obama, many Americans were heartened. The economic recovery so far has little to do with the "Stimulus", which hasn't really hit yet (either to the economy or the deficit). The "bailout" of Wall Street and the Automakers are fueling things now. BUT WHAT happens when the stimulus money runs out? Or when the...

It depends upon your point of view. Didja notice that his approval rating is dropping. People are getting tired of him "Talking the Talk, but not Walking the Walk". And don't give me the BS about Congress not working with him. HE LOST THEM somewhere. Can he find them again, get them back? Only time will tell.

Yup, the Baucus is just short of (controlling) majority since Ted Kennedy's death. But yes, America is in for a great awakening as to the damage that one-party rule can inflict on the nation.

I thought all American people have this right.
Don't EVEN GO the RACIST route. How can NAACP and United Negro College Fund not be racist? Why does the liberal media cover rallies for anti-war protesters, but not cover patriotic ceremonies honoring the military for end of service: dead, retiring, or just separating?

I'm really not that bad a guy. Why not ask you mom what she sees in me? It might help us get along better. But don't ask her while I'm here. That's girl talk and I really don't want to hear it, OK?

I am like soooo glad that we don't text stuff like that, y'no. That would be kind of, like, such a waste of time.

It's in our souls, our genetic makeup, ever since our ancestors ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Kinda like a freaky LSD trip that totally warped our chromosomes.,

Freedom. As I've often said, there's a thin line between freedom and loneliness. A line I've often walked, and will probably walk again. Regarding last name, consider the Scandinavian practice. Cain and Abel would be known as Cain Adamson and Abel Adamson. If they had sons Joe and Tom, their names would be Joe Cainson and Tom Abelson. In the Middle East (Iraq for instance), people's last name is related to where they are from, at least originally. In England, people often took last names associated with their occupation...

If a runner is hit by a batted ball, that runner is out. A thrown ball is "Fair Game". The runner has a right to be in the basepath, and to proceed along that route. It's a judgement call by the umpire(s) if the fielder or runner interferes with the other as they attempt to make their play.

Also, gravity is somewhat counteracted on the earth by the earth's rotation, which would throw us off the surface if not for that gravity. The spin is greater at the equator than at the poles, so gravity "appears" to be weaker in the tropics than in the polar regions.

Sometimes God presents us with setbacks and challenges to prepare us for later things in our lives, or beyond. If it was easy, anyone could do it. Accept the challenge and be better for it.

I hate my moms new husband, how do i handle this without it effecting my mother and i's relationship.
First, change your attitude. You do not hate the man. You might hate some of the things he says or does, but you don't hate the person. Next, make a list of the things you don't like about him. Then, determine what you can do about each one. The worst case scenario is that you avoid him whenever he says or does the things that tick you off.

If a car was driven at 60 km an hour continually for two hours, yet the average velocity for the journey was zero explain how this could be so
Velocity is speed PLUS DIRECTION. If the car drove east at 60 for one hour and west at 60 for one hour, the average velocity is zero. There are other scenarios, such as driving in a circle.

Some here are complaining about illegal immigration and refugees seeking a safe place to live. Have you ever imagined how it was to walk a mile in their shoes? Or has apathy for humanity eaten you alive?
From an American point of view, the rights to a life in America should not be usurped by those who can jump a fence or wade across a river in deference to those who wait patiently and legally because they can't cross an ocean.

The male will tend the nest, gently mouthing the eggs that come out and spitting them back into the nest. When the eggs hatch, the male will keep the fry close to the nest. Eventually, they will get tired of him herding them. At that point, he...
