my music teacher says your singing or talking sounds different to other people than the way it sounds in your head on the inside?
Yes it is true. Basically, when you sing, you are hearing twice at a time delay. You are hearing what is going on inside your head, and what is leaving your mouth and going in to your ears. It is impossible to hear accurately. Also, sound gets distorted in your head because of the bones. what is the widest female range called
There is no name for "the widest female range". Voices are classified not by how large their ranges are, but by where they most naturally sit and by the "color" of the voices, among other things. For example, there could be a soprano with a three octave range, and a less experienced soprano with a one octave range. Same with all voice types.

I have a bit of this problem too. You can try using a theraband. They're excellent for strengthening. Sit with your legs out in front of you, put the theraband under your foot, and slowly flex and point. Make sure that you go through all of the little bones in your feet. I do think that it is a good idea to wait until the child is old enough to decide for herself. It is her body, after all, and she should want the piercing, not her parents. There are four letters on the sides of a dreidel- nun, gimmel, hay, and shin. These stand for "nes gadol hayah sham", or "a great miracle happened there". Do you prefer sharps or flats and why?
I like sharps better. The word "sharp" sounds so much better than "flat", doesn't it? You know. "B sharp, always b natural, NEVER b flat". Actually, I think it has a lot to do with the fact that I learned all of the scales with sharps before I learned the ones with flats. Instead of thinking of a note as d flat, I much prefer to think of it as c sharp.

What make a major/minor key relative to another major/minor key?
They share a key signature. So, they will share the same sharps or flats. They will not have the same name- as in C major and C minor are not relative keys. They are parallel. C major does not have any sharps or flats, and it's relative minor, A minor, also does not. To find the relative minor of a key, go down a minor third, or one and a half steps, from the major. Answer to:
What does mp stand for in sheet music?
Mp stands for "mezzo piano", which means "moderately soft". P means piano, which is soft. After that is pp- pianissimo (very soft), and ppp which is pianississimo (very, very soft), or pianissimo possibile (as soft as possible). This does not necessarily refer to volume, although it usually does. In voice, it often has to do with "intensity".

I think that is probably more normal than you might think. I am somewhat the same. Why do young children often unabashedly sing and dance around, when adults are much less likely to do the same? I think that once you get older, you are more aware of other people and their judgements. You don't really care as much about other people when you are young. You love to sing, so you do it.

Answer to:
Do you think everyone possesses the talent of being a great dancer? Just that others can express it better.
I'm not sure that I do. Dancing is a talent that requires training. If people receive quality training and never become great dancers, then they probably don't have much talent. If you can't dance no matter how much training you get, then you probably aren't cut out to be a great dancer. Also, there is more than talent that goes into being a professional dancer, such as physique.

One good way is to lie on your back and breathe, watching your stomach go up and down. If you watch people sleep, they breathe from their diaphragm.

Answer to:
Should girls today dress with more modesty?
I totally think so. This is a generalization, and I can not speak for everyone, but I think that one reason that many girls dress so immodestly is because of low self esteem. They think that to get noticed, they have to show everything. However, then people notice their bodies, and not their personalities. If something is really special and precious, what do you do? You cover it up.

Does ballet count as a sport?
I think that if people realized how hard ballet was, they would consider it a sport. People don't know how hard and painful it is because it is a dancer's job to disguise these things and make it look easy. I think that it is an art, not a sport. I do think that it should be a sport, though. Isn't figure skating a sport?

I recently attempted to play my violin while talking to my friend on the phone. Kind of hard to hold your violin on one shoulder and the phone on the other. It was really cool.

I play my guitar maybe once or twice a week. I play my violin every once in a while for fun. I took violin for about 5 years but I'm not as serious about it as the piano.

My mom always tells me that I have such a black and white personality. It should either be pink or orange.
Answer to:
What annoying thing, or pet peeve do you have, annoys you SO much that you would make it a crime, if you could?
When people sing off pitch. Not that I'm SUCH an amazing singer and ALWAYS have perfect pitch, but when other people sing off pitch it's like nails on a chalkboard to me. I always notice when people sing even a drop flat. It's sooooo annoying.

Answer to:
When your singing around the house, do your pets look at you funny or is it just me?
It's kind of funny. I have 2 lovebirds in a cage right next to the piano and when I'm in a voice lesson, they like to sing with me.

Answer to:
What does octave mean in down an octave?
It could also mean to take a piece of music eight notes down. Like if you were playing middle c, down an octave would be one c lower than that (eight notes down)
Answer to:
What is your favorite octave to sing in?
I have a kind of high, soprano voice. I am pretty fond of the fifth octave. It is kind of natural to me. It's kind of funny. You know how people will say "oh, that's a nice color on you"? I had a voice teacher who would say "oooh, that's a nice note for you" when I would sing a C5 or E5 or whatever.

Answer to:
Do you cry easily?
...yeah, I guess. I think I'm kind of overly sensitive sometimes. Emotion can be a good thing, though. It can feed your creativity, and without it, we'd all be like robots.

I don't know... I guess I can. I love singing. I have been told that I have a good voice and I've taken voice lessons for a while. My years and years of piano training has given me a good ear.
Answer to:
Meaning of following terms? 1 - 116=crotchet 2 - div 3 - pizz 4 - arco 5 - sourdine
6 - 1'solo (apostrophe is tiny circle) 7 - a.2 8 - leger (accent over e)
9 - piu p
I don't know all of them. I know that pizz means to pluck the strings, arco means to use the bow. Leger lines are for when the notes go above or below the staff. It is a little line going through the note. For example, in treble cleff, the bottom note on the staff is an e. If you wanted the c below that, there would be a space below the staff, then a note with a little line through it.

Answer to:
Do you think that musical talent is at all genetic, or influenced by the home in which a child grew up in? I know that many amazing musicians did not come from musical families, but I also know that many did. I'm just wondering if it can have any affect.
I happen to have an absolute passion for music. I grew up with a lot of music in the home and my father is a musician. Classical music, where it feeds my soul, annoys one of my siblings. One of my other little siblings loves sitting under the piano and pushing the pedals while I practice. He sees me practicing my violin and he always tells me that he wants to learn. Another sibling just...

Answer to:
Do you like classical music?
I am totally passionate about classical music. It is so perfect. The structure of classical pieces is all so perfect. You can take a piece and sit down and analyze it and take apart it's structure. As soon as a composer does something different like modulate into the subdominant key where technically it would normally be the dominant key it's like " whoa look what he did!"....

Answer to:
Can anyone advise me on what foods are bad for singers and what foods are good for singers? Or should i say what type of lifestyle changes would be good for someone who needs to get better at singing and reach their peak?
I learned that you should stay away from anything sugary or dairy as these things can create mucus, and anything cafinated or alcoholic, as these things can dry out your vocal chords. You shouldn't smoke or be around smokers as the smoke is terrible for your voice. Warm, not scorching hot, decafinated tea is good.
Answer to:
I've played the guitar since I was seven. Do you play any musical instruments? At what age did you learn?
I have been playing the piano since I was three. It's totally my passion. I wanted to learn to play so badly that I begged my mother for lessons. Lol she had such a hard time finding someone to teach me at 3. I also took about 5 years of violin starting when I was in third grade and about a year of flute in 4th grade.
Answer to:
Is there a point when a female singer should try to work with a female instead of male voice teacher or is a good voice teacher a good voice teacher regardless of the gender?
I guess a good voice teacher is a good voice teacher. I kind of liked having a voice teacher with the same voice type as me to demonstrate, though. If your voice teacher has a similar voice to you they can show you exactly how to do things by doing it.

Answer to:
Can somebody teach me, on how to do the proper breathing in singing pls answer because i dont have enough many for singing lessons
You need to breathe from your diaphragm. This is how you naturally breathe when your sleeping. Young children also tend to do this naturally. Your stomach should expand with the inhale, but your shoulders and chest should not rise. It can be helpful to lie on your back and do this. Lie down and watch your stomach rise and fall. Then try to do this standing up:) Another thing you can do is touch...
Answer to:
When I sing high notes, I sound breathy, and the notes don't hold very long. How can I maintain my high notes?
Breathy high notes mean that your vocal chords aren't closed all they way. Make sure to lift your soft palate when you sing. This feels kind of like a yawn. Practice in front of the mirror. This will help create a purer tone. Also, don't forget to push with your diaphragm and OPEN YOUR MOUTH!!
Answer to:
How do I reach and sustain a high note when singing?
You must sing in your head voice and never try to push your chest voice higher than it should go. One way to find your head voice is kind of talking high like mickey mouse or a guy trying to talk like a girl. You are talking in your head voice. Some people just try to push their chest voices all the way up but it usually sounds really nasal and strained and you can damage your voice like that....
Answer to:
Given right hand (treble) music how can I works out the chords to go with it?
This does take some level of understanding theory. Basically, you first have to work out what key you are in. It is usually the first note of the song, but not always. If you know how many sharps and flats there are, you can work it out that way. The chords are usually the tonic (the same note as the key you are in), subdominant (the fourth note from the tonic, including the tonic note), and...
Answer to:
What's the best way to learn to read music?
There are cute things to remember the notes on the staff(lines) and in the spaces in between. In treble cleff starting on the bottom line the notes are e,g,b,d,f. Every Good Boy Does Fine. The notes in the spaces are therefore f,a,c,e. That obviously spells face. In the bass cleff starting from the bottom, the notes are g,b,d,f,a. Great Big Dogs Fight Always. I don't know anything for the...

I want a good but fairly cheap keyboard for my kids to start learning piano. Any suggestions or things to avoid?
Make sure that the keys are the size of the keys on a real piano. Also, make sure that there are enough keys. I HATE running out of keys when I'm trying to play a piece on a keyboard!!!
