I have inherited a stamp collection and have no idea what to do about finding if any are valuable. They have not been cared for other than taken off the envelopefrom othes. Some date back to 1934 and 1935. Most are US stamps and some foreign stamps.
Your best bet is to buy a stamp cataloged and look up the value of each stamp. Of course this takes both time and money and chances are you won't find anything worth more than a few cents or a few dollars. On the upside they're neat to look at!

I have to admit I do like a little screaming in my music. As long as it's done with taste, of course.

This definitly sounds like depression. I'd take care of it immediantely. Depression is a downward spiral: things are going to get worse and worse. You should get some help ASAP. Good luck.
