Once the bruises are gone your mind has an amazing way of protecting us. With the verbal, it hangs on forever. Even now, I perpetuate things by saying the same things to myself that I heard when young. I would believe that this answer could go either way depending on one's own personal circumstances.

My friends boyfriend just broke up with her today. What can I do, and mostly what should I say to help her. I told her that the best thing to help get over it is just keep yourself busy and distracted, but she said she can't think about anything else. I feel for her and when it's so fresh, it hurts the most. Time will help but in the meantime, just be that shoulder to lean on and that ear to listen to her. Get her out of the house and go do things...especially on the weekend. Good luck.

Removing any line item from a bank statement would affect the running balance and that statement is also your 'statement of record'. You could change your address to have your statement go to a relatives for that cycle to keep it out of your home mail box and then change it back later.

Loan companies have procedures set up for action to take for the many times that this happens. A person would likely get a letter from the loan company asking for an alternate account to set up to debit and ask for the missed payment immediately.

I hit the car at approximately the front wheel well and traveled in the air to land on the street. It has taken a toll on my payment mode and I end up paying additional charges or late fees. How do I manage this? Keep a transactional account at one financial institution and set up bill pay and automatic payments from only one account. Keep your liquid cash close at hand so transfers are easy and those accounts can be set up to overdraft from in case you run into unaccounted for 'surprises'. Keep the other FIs for your investments and accounts that are harder to get to or not as convenient....

I was forced to retire, have been trying to get 401k money for 2 month. The HR depa. says it was sent to bank as a direct rool over. Bank says it has never received any funds. Request a copy of the cancelled check to determine the endorsement. If the check was never issued you will get your answer when a check copy is not able to be supplied. If you get the copy, it will help the receiving bank determine if another account was credited with your funds. Good luck.

Bad customer service. Do you call it to the attention of the person who is rude, report it to their manager or supervisor, or do nothing at all? If it's not provoked by anyone in my party, then I would call in later and talk to the manager. If it ruined the outing, I likely would not bother and wouldn't return. Customer service can make or break an evening for many people. Of course, GREAT customer service gets the same action! Call to the manager and/or an oversized tip.

When a problem is avoided does it ever get fixed? Of course, if the problem is that you cannot stand someone, avoiding is the best solution. But I have not found that avoiding something is the right solution for me. It's worked best for me to at least discuss and "agree to disagree" even if opinions are still on the opposite sides of the fence after the discussion.

MWhat is the best and most interesting Mother's Day gift you gave or received! I saw a book that was made by one of my staff to give to her mother. The staffer had taken precious pictures of herself and her child and created a book through a website. It was amazing and she said that when she gave it to her Mom she just silently cried good tears while looking through the whole thing.

Hypothetical situation: While driving, you hit someone on the road and that person died. S/he was not supposed to cross the road in the first place, the light was green (for you) and it was not the proper place to cross the road. Would you feel guilty? I would feel tremendously bad because another human being's life was lost. It doesn't seem that there was anything from the driver's point of view that could have prevented the tragic accident. I think I would feel horrible rather than guilt and would come to that conclusion after speaking with a professional.

I think that seeing that pile of cigarette butts in the parking lot always surprises me. The butts are collected at the time (not thrown out the window) and then emptied in a parking lot with a dumpster usually close by. Things that make you go, "hmmmmmm".

I lost my wallet yesterday and dropped it in the parking lot at a shopping center. When I asked customer service if they had found a wallet, someone had turned it in with all the money and credit cards intact! Would that have happen where you live? My initial response was no but remembered a situation where I'd dropped my bills after paying for lunch. I went back to the local pub (great wings) and every bill was there so I rewarded the waitress and go back often.

A courtesy call back would be the best for your future and relationship. My sons wife constantly gets mad at him because he spends so much time at our house when she wants him home with her. He has always been very close with us. Is she too needy? If they're married, it seems like they both should be spending too much time at your house. For some reason she's not with him and that might be the cause for her anger. I don't think he should sacrifice his relationship with his parents but continuing on without changes could affect their marriage.

I accidently washed a pack of cigarettes and a lighter. I realized it before the dryer. I pulled all the clothes out to shake off outside and cleaned the washer. Is there something else I need to do? From years of waking up at the same time for work, my internal alarm seems to make sure I get up at that time every day no matter what time I fell asleep...alarm clock or not. My cat keeps scratching. He has no fleas, and does not go outside. He is scratching enough to cause scabs. Any ideas If it's specifically around the ear area then it sounds like it's ear cleaning time. If on other parts of the body then it could be an allergy or a plethora of other things. A visit to the vet might be best. Many vets will give you the ear cleaning supplies so when it happens again you'll be all set without going back.

I think it all depends on the couple and what time is right for them.

Mad dad recently got married to my stepmom, my birth mom is dead. My friends think its weird that i referr to my stepmom as mom when im talking about her. I also call my step sisters my sisters. Is that weird? I feel bad calling them my STEP mom or sister No. They're very lucky.
