It takes awhile. On the left of your screen, find "Categories" in blue letters. Look at the subcategories beneath the word "Categories" and click one that interest you. Click, for example, "Arts".
.
Then the category you just clicked, "Arts" will appear in orange, and it has subcategories beneath it. Click one of those that interests you. For example,...

What is your opinion of a 40 something year old man being asked by his 14 and 6 year old son things and he doesn't want to discuss like "prostitutes" or "terminated pregnancy" so he sends them off to their mother?
I think it makes the man uncomfortable for whatever reason, and I see no gain in criticizing him. If you are okay with discussing these things with the 14 and 6 year old, why not just do it. There's so much more in a relationship to be concerned about normally.
Answer to:
How do you feel about excessive CEO pay by big business?
Who can say what is excessive CEO pay? That's a business decision. If stockholders believe that the CEO is overpaid, then they can sell the company stock, and others can refrain from buying the stock to buy the stock. The price of the stock will then go down, and the company will have less money to use and will have to depend more and more on its profitability alone.
The problem I see...

No way 40's too old. You'll be a day older tomorrow anyway, so go for it.

I went to college at 57. My life's experiences made it easier for me than for most of the young kids who still had trouble balancing a checkbook.

The professors will admire you and the kids will be scared of you because they know they don't know squat!

Why is there an Us vs. the Government mentality in the US. Isn't the government Of, By and For We the People?
I think the problem has gotten worse because of career politicians. They want an elected job and want to keep t until they retire, getting good pay, benefits, prestige, perks and money for speeches to say nothing of bribes in too many cases. Then at retirement, they have great pensions and other benefits. So, just like you and I,they work to keep their jobs. And these compromises and...

What are the wrong reasons to get married?
And, I forgot to say in my earlier answer, all I mentioned before can be done with a mate while you're not married. I lived with 2 of my wives without being married for a couple of years before we married.

For some, living together without being married brings on guilt. The Bible speaks of marriage as the only time for sexual intercourse. Society expects marriage between couples...

Why do you need to get married? What's the point?
Love, togetherness and help for each other.
.
I've just failed at my 3rd attempt. Married 16 years, then 5 years, then 16 years again.
.
In retrospect, I'd say marriage is a great thing provided the couple have many things in common such as a liking for sports, or going to garage sales, reading the same type of books, liking similar types of movies, discussing politics, traveling,...

Some people would rather ask questions which make them appear to be such thoughtful people. Same with their answers and comments. Their objective may be more the gathering of points than asking legitimate questions and giving legitimate answers and comments.

No. It seems to me that when we become adults, we should make our own decisions. That doesn't mean we can't listen to the ideas and information others may have about things that affect our decisions. That would be foolish. Then put those things brought up by the other(s)in with your thoughts, and then you make the decision. Otherwise, in your case, you're letting your brother...

Look at total dollars coming in. Usually called Revenue. Look at profit after all expenses including income taxes. Depreciation is not real money. It's money that was spent on some long lasting piece of equipment or the like. The money's already been spent, so you won't have to spend it again to buy the asset. The depreciation figure is just an offset against taxes.

A wife can't be a husband anymore than a lion can be a tiger. We have an English lanquage which I see no reason to change on this subject. And if someone wished to say this is just a matter of semantics, I'll put it this. If a couple is husband and wife, one has a penis and the other has a vagina. No exceptions in my opinion.

What would happen if the salaries of professional sports players were reduced to use that money for better things?
What would happen? A huge player lawsuit! I'm going to speak to the question rather than answer it as I think--don't know--that the real concern behind the question is more like "how in the world can anybody be paid that much. It's terrible". At least I hear that over and over, but it may not be in the back of this questioner's mind. The salaries of professional...

I'm an EEOC officer who's hired hundreds of African-Americans. Those without accents are hired far more frequently than those with southern Ebionics-like or gangsta-rap accents. Accents hold them back. Why's this lanquage problem not often discussed?
Some of you say that not only black people speak Ebionics. No doubt some others do. However, I am 63, I've lived in New York, Illinois, Maine, California, Alabama, Florida, and New Hampshire. I also spent 9 years in the Army with a huge variety of people. I have interviewed probably 2000 people seeking employment at the large companies for which I have worked. I have heard only one person...

Was Joseph Smith a raving lunatic?
Joseph Smith claims to have had visions of God the Father, Jesus the Son, and of angels. His first vision was at 14. In translating his tablets, he claims to have used stone seers called "Urim and Thummin". He described them as a pair of stones, fastened to a breastplate and joined in the form of a large pair of spectacles. Mormons claim belief in the Bible, yet until outlawed,...

Scenario: You see somebody you know who is drowning. This person has discriminated against you because of your race, gender, sexuality, etc. As a result you despise this person. Would you help him?
Regardless of how the drowning person had discriminated against me, and I despised the person, I would help him or her. If the person was a living dictator similar to Hitler or Saddam Hussein, or a vicious murderer I had seen committing murder, I might not. Most of my mind in this hypothetical scenario says "let him/her die" while a smaller part of me says "help him/her, but do...

WHITE PEOPLE,do you find it racist when a person of a different race calls you a cracker?and if so does it upset you in any way?
Being called a "cracker" doesn't bother me much. But I know that the speaker is challenging me to a verbal or physical confrontation. What bothers me more is for African-Americans to call each other "nigger". The practice is rampant and is excused by African-Americans as being a term of "endearment" and meant in "fun". Many (most?)...
Answer to:
I think bigotry towards African-Americans is due to African-American Vernacular English (some say Ebionics) more than color. Color is 1st seen; then African-AmericanVernacular English adds prejudice whereas dictionary-lpronounced English reduces it. Agree
I started this discussion about the effects of "Ebionics", but I want to clarify something I meant. By "Ebionics" I am not speaking of this fad "gangsta" rap. I am speaking of a dialect, ---by that I mean "a variety of a lanquage spoken by a particular group". Not all African-Americans speak with an Ebionics accent. Nor do all Caucasions speak without an...

Thanks for the answers. I know I'm bigotted. Yet, I know that an Ebionics accent lessens my opinion of the speaker even more. And I know that the correct use of English in conversation counters my bigotry relative to African-Americans almost completely. I find it hard to believe that the great majority of whites do not feel the same way. I think that if African-Americans could eliminate...

Do you know what it is like to be homeless?
I was homeless for several weeks. An economic situation and divorce caused it. I was amazed at the lack of respect poor people who are not homeless get. Of course, the homeless get even less. Most (I can't quantify)of the homeless I met had drug, alcohol and/or mental problems. Having any honesty was out of the question. Frankly, most accepted their status and didn't seem to mind...
