Answer to:
Should an answer on AnswerBag require cited references for it to be considered apt and accurate?
No. Absolutely not. And as a side note to you AnswerBag teenie-boppers out there the rating system doesn't mean bunk ;-).
A question is posted on AnswerBag requesting what SHOULD be a "user-answer" or an answer given by someone from the general public.
If a cited reference or source was required for an answer, then the question poser may as well Google search or go to the...

What British monarch introduced tea into 18th century England?
First of all, Jeopardy-type-question/answer-asker, tea was not introduced to the English in the 18th century.
Second, it technically wasn't a monarch that introduced tea to England. It was the wife of a Monarch.
Charles II had a lovely wife named? Oooh that's right CATHERINE. Catherine was Portugese, and it happened that tea had made it to Spain by the time Catherine married Charles...

If guys shrink in water, then how can they have sex in hot tubs, pools, etc.?
**The following contains adult terms and situations, readers beware.**
I believe, and this is purely speculation, that guys DON'T in fact shrink in water. I've been swimming, wading, bathing, and many other things involving water. As far as I know I've been 5'10" the whole time.
As for mens' penises (penis', penii), that may be a different story. I think the "shrinkage"...

A stripper put a lollipop in her vagina then pulled it out and put it in my mouth. Is there any way that I can contract any STD's?
1. Yes, get tested. Go now. I don't want your Syphillis-having self sexing up my best friend. Kidding.
2. Penthouse models get STD and HIV tests regularly. I wouldn't start to worry very much (at all). Penthouse girls are probably cleaner than "the girl next door".
3. As for the sucker, here's another reason not to worry. With a few exceptions (Herpes probably being the...

My camera uses a mini LCD screen in the view finder, could this possibly cause more strain to your eye, or other harmful effects?
Same question as : Does my cell phone give me brain cancer?
Looking at, or doing, anything for long enough can have various good and bad effects. Vague, I know. But more specifically, NO is the good news. Your eye problems cannot be blamed on mini-LCD screens.
Liquid Crystal Displays are actually EASIER on your eyes than a Cathode Ray Tube or other kind of display device. There is...

When my eyes get tired, they begin to cross. Should I worry about them staying that way permanently?
No.
The "eyes-will-stayed-crossed" crap is what I suppose could be considered an "Old Wive's Tale" (not to be confused with an old wife's tail which is nasty looking and very large).
This has no scientific base. Its origin is most likely Nazi mothers who wanted to dull their children's humor and creativity processes. Or simeply mom's who wanted their kids to be...

Is there such thing as major league teeball?
Silly...
Of course not. If there was major league tee ball we'd all know about it. It'd be on ESPN 17 and Sammy McGuire would've been accused of using Steroids.
Derpy.
Also, if the question is even half serious... Look at "Tee Ball" as a sport from a technical point of view. There is no pitcher or catcher. You couldn't even hit a home run (thank you, Newton), in fact you...

Is there going to be a "Grease 3?"
Here is a functional, not completely sarcastic, and hopefully somewhat useful answer to your question...
Ok, I have no idea of what to think of this. Apparently Olivia Newton-John and Hugh Jackman are going to be in Grease 3.
it looks like going without Travolta. Apparently he's not so keen to do it anymore, but Olivia Newton-John is. Latest is that the script's been changed to only...

How long does a dream usually last?
Dream psychology is actually very interesting, I have studied quite a bit about Rapid Eye Movement sleep - and if the answer to your question is interesting... you should too! Or not.
Dreams can vary in length depending on how long we have slept. When we first go to sleep it takes us about an hour to have our first dream, which lasts about 15 minutes on the average. From then on we have a...

I have had my navel pierced twice, but both times it migrated. Is it likely to happen again? If so, should I try an inverse piercing instead?
Uhm... no?
As far as I know piercing migrations can happen for several reasons :
- Your body rejects the material the jewelry is made of. You could have an allergy to _X_ metal. Or maybe not.
- Your skin is weak and the metal in the piercing forces changes in your skin movement (using your skin's elacticity as leverage).
- Tissue warping around the piercing could be a problem...

What's the capital of Morocco?
So, here's another Geography whatsit I might be able to tackle...
Rabat, I believe is the animal-sounding capital of another small(er) country (yeah, I remember, don't worry).
The Morrocans don't, as far as I know, worship rabbits. I think the phoenetic similarty is simply irony at its dumbest.

What form of govt. does Switzerland have?
From my travels to the land of the Swiss, I remember being told you could call Switzerland a Federal Republic.
They call themselves (in governmental-speak) The Swiss Confederation. That is, mainly I'd suppose, because they used to be a confederation. Their restructure, and constitutional reforendum, happened just recently. I was there last year and they were still adjusting to differences...

Which is the smallest country in the world?
My guess?
The Vatican City, which has an area (recalling high school geography) of about a 1/4th of a mile (.2 miles or so).
The Vatican City - why it is a country I'm not too sure, is surrounded by Rome, Italy. Technically you'd call it a microstate, but yep its still a country. It is the home of St. Peter's Basilica, the spiritual center for Roman Catholocism.
The population is...

I have a 19 inch Misakai TV, 1 year old, and the sound just quit. It is as if the mute is on, but it is not. How can I fix this?
The first, and easiest answer - is to call the manufacturer. I don't know if there is a Man. warranty for the TV but under or around a year and it seems like you should be able to return it or have it serviced for near free. You shouldn't be too worried (or very worried) because there are plenty of people here on Answerbag who have Misakai TV issues...

Do redheads have a lower tolerance for pain?
Meh, this one is a question I had a few years ago and had it answered very well by my primary care physician (who, coincidentally did a study on it a while ago).
No, they do no have a lower tolerance. And no, redheads in general have no special pain tolerances. However, those redheaded women have a special ability...
Redheaded women have an innate ability to tolerate more pain than...

I suppose it depends on which bubbles you're talking about ;-).
I'll give you what I hope is a pretty simple example using some simple science. Yay, no physics or riga-pseudo-pnuemo-alpha-coleatosis!
A few questions first :
When you pour Palmolive in a sink and run some water what is one of the things that you get?
- Bubbles
When you eat three week leftover fish tacos what is...

My 1995 Chevy is "fighting" to get power between 1st and 3rd gear. Sometimes it idles so low it shuts off. Yet a mechanic ran complete diagnostics and nothing came up. What could be going on with it? In higher gears it's fine!
The simplest possible answer?
Low fluid level...
A few questions to consider :
- Does the transmission (whether when its cold or hot) rev oddly while in neutral, drive, or any gear? For instance, if you are at a stop light in D or N, does your tachometer show the car's RPM's going up and down?
- Does the transmission get very high RPMs in 1st or 2nd gear before the shift?

Who sings this song, "Whoever told you I was letting go...the only joy that I have ever known...?"
I believe you are thinking of the teenie-bopping "Westlife"'s #1 hit "Swear It Again". I believe it came out in 1999 and here are the lyrics...
I wanna know
Who ever told you I was letting go
Of the only joy that I have ever known
Girl, they're lying
Just look around
And all of the people that we used to know
Have just given up, they wanna let it go
But we're...

Answer to:
Can cocaine give you a heart attack?
Here are some real-life statistics based on SNORTING (yeah, yeah insufflation) Coke.
It's a derpy moment, in my book, to discount smoking Crack or injecting Coke as dangerous. Don't mess with the worst and you wont get the worst. Smoking and IV use are different than insufflation - they are both highly over-dosable and especially IV use can result in a QUICK and pretty uncomfortable death....

Answer to:
What is the quickest way to get cocaine out of your system if you are not a frequent user?
The previous answer-er was mostly correct. Cocaine isn't entirely stored in liquids. Cocaine HCl is obviously also lipophilic or it wouldn't be as addictive as it is. Regular users tend to need longer time to remove all traces of Coke from their system - if it was stored entirely in liquids this wouldn't be the case.
Also, Coke doesn't leave your system in 2-4 days, not even...
