Trump is known for saying you're fired! Romney is known for saying I like to fire people! Isn't that special? Capitalistic Soulmates?
And, for the good of the Nation, let's hope the American people will say "You're fired" to Obama on November 6, 2012.
Answer to:
Romney is too weak to shut Trump up. If he can't control a domestic clown like Trump how is he going to deal with world leaders? Roll over?
Heck, Rosie, that's like saying Obama's too weak to shut Biden up...another domestic clown. Furthermore, we can never tell, for sure, that these loose canons, Trump and Biden, aren't out there doing and saying exactly what their respective candidates want them to do...now, can we?

Would harming your child (physically or emotionally) build their respect for you, or would it build contempt?
I can only say that my parents were relatively "strict" and demanding of me in terms of behavior and "my job", becoming educated. I don't view that as "harming". Mentally, I may have often disagreed with them as a child, but I maintained a high regard, respect, for them until they passed away.

More and more, politicians have shown that they could hardly care less what the people want. Many think they are "untouchable". Fortunately, we still have that opportunity, while several countries do not (e.g., China, North Korea, Viet Nam, Cuba).

Is it possible to completely erase the existence of another person from your memory?
Under normal circumstances, I would think no. But certain forms of dementia such as Alzheimer's disease do it, particularly recent memory...although it's a horrible expense to pay. I've witnessed as much as 35 years of the more recent memory erased from the afflicted brain.
Bottom line, better you should retain the memory, even those that are distasteful, so that you are better prepared to...

What's a word you dislike so much?
Elizabeth17 are in agreement here. As a child the word "h*te" was forbidden in our home. Consequently, I still find it a distasteful and almost childishly overused, often here at AB.
For example, "Don't you just h*te certain people/things?" I'm constantly responding in my head "No, I may dislike such-and-such, but I don't H*TE them/it!"

Some do and many don't. In both cases, it's part of their natures. Men who enjoy being proud of their wives by the way their wives dress and carry themleves, particularly in the company of others, will reciprocate the characteristics by acting in a similar manner as well so that the wives can be proud of them. I prefer to pick up our tab, myself. But if I know the host won't allow it, I am usually aware of his/her financial circumstances and will order accordingly. If I am not aware of same, I'll note the price level the host orders for himself/herself and will usually follow suit. In other words, I won't order Lobster if the host orders meatloaf...unless I know he/she is on an expense account and...

I'd guess it first developed in the wild, free-wielding 1920's. But then Great Depression began in the latter part of that decade and continued until the onset of the Second World War, both of which forced society to settle down to earth bigtime. Those who suffered during those periods pretty much kept their feet on the ground for yet another decade, but then TV came along and things began...

Yes, and even more so. Almost universally, parents in our society used to wish and work hard for a better life for their children than they had had for themselves. And I worked hard for it, as well. Go to google.Type"your AB username" \space\ "on ANSWERBAG".what was the question in the first result¿
My first question was in 2008, which generated three answers and five "Likes", equivillent to 25 points back then... PLUS 25 points for joining AB. From there on in, I was "hooked" on AB.
I don't think that AB gives points for joining the Site any longer...and they lowered the points significantly for "Likes" applied to Questions, Answers and Moderation Reporting, severely reducing points...

Stepford Wives don't exist in a vacuum. There are some Stepford Husbands too. Any examples you can think off hand? Why them?
I've known a few in my lifetime that might be defined as such...but that's THEIR business, not mine. Personally, I would not/could not treat a spouse as such.
Answer to:
Make up your mind! Do you want a Government that butts in or butts out? You can't have it both ways. Which way do you favor and why?
I want a goverment that follows the dictates of the United States Constitution, which pretty much states that it should "butt out" of the citizens' personal business and freedom.
I particularly want it to keep its corrupt hands out of peoples' pockets, confiscating their hard-earned money so they can corruptly buy votes and power for themselves. That's what I want!

Do you buy overpriced items IF part of the money paid goes to charity??
I'm not much for supporting big, organizied charities, but I've purchased, say, over-priced stuff, like candy, from a kid for helping out at his/her school.
It's good to support kids, I think...but not if the dang parents are doing the work for them. The kid has to learn to take responsibility, not to have the parents do the work for him/her.

You work somewhere and give your letter of resignation. It isn't accepted. What does that mean? You're stuck working there forever?
I can see such applying only if the employee is under a contract with a company that requires the employee to continue employment for a certain period of time. And such can be subtle, in that, for example, a company that agrees to pay for an employee's education may require that employee to continue to work for the company for a certain period of time in exchange for the company's investment...

Most regular family restaurants are hurting bigtime these days with fewer and fewer people eating out due to the extremely poor economy. To boot, food prices have been skyrocketing, mostly caused by higher gas and delivery costs to food wholesalers.

The Commandment says to "Remember the Sabbath Day and keep it holy". In my view, man is the one to have designated Sunday as the Sabbath in our Christian religion and how one is to "keep it holy" has evolved by different standards over many generations. My parents had different applications than I have, for example. Bottom line, every day should be "kept holy", in my opinion...and I think...

What is the most important factor when determining future rental behavior for an Tenant?
An unblemished history of on-time payments of past rents or mortgages. You can require the prospective tenant to provide you with copies of dated proofs of payments over an extended period of time, e.g., copies of cancelled checks, front and back. If such reveal that the tenant tends to "float" the payments, i.e., pays later than required, then do not accept him/her as a tenant.

How would Democrats have reacted if Republicans started flying a US flag with Bush's or Reagan's face in the place of the stars?
I think ya just oughtta let it be, Glenn. I think it says a lot about the people who support this guy. They ought to start flying thousands of 'em across the country...sort of like big pictures of Mao, Fidel and a long list of other tyrants seen flying in the public squares.
Yes! More Obama flags...more Obama flags!!!

How come people in underdeveloped, and what we call poorer countries seem to be more content, in less need of a psychiatrist, and have very few suicides compared to the affluent nations?
I think that the highest rates of suicide may be found in the more northern countries, Scandanavian countries and northern Russia. A lot of people suffer from "cabin fever" there due to the cold and snow, there are extended periods of darkness and a heavy consumption of alcohol to "chase those blues away"....the rates of alcoholism is very high there....but I'm just guessing. I haven't...

Does Leontyne Price deserve a Kennedy Center Honor? If you do not know her just listen to her online.
Now is her mid-eighties, Leontyne Price is an amazing, proud American and a magnificent opera singer. I particularly enjoyed her Madame Butterfly performance, my favorite opera. An absolutely beautiful, good-hearted woman.
By the way, she prefers to be referred to as an American, not as an African American...and I like that.

Thanks, AG. I appreciate it. It would take a booklength comment section to list the way that I think he has failed as a leader and, naturally, I can't do that.
Suffice it to say that it's one thing for a head-of-state of a powerful country such as the U.S. to be a "nice guy" who's "trying", but quite another when his lack of experience and qualifications have such an major impact worldwide....

Thinking about saving money the economy, which candidate do you think will do it best?
Given his extensive business experience, and his having actually served in the executive branch of his state as governor of Massachusetts, it would have to be Mitt Romney.
The problems we face today have largely come about due to the fact that our current president brought nearly nothing to the office president in terms of experience. I don't think we've ever elected someone so inexperienced...
Answer to:
What makes you feel unsafe? Why?
Our, the U.S., president and those who surround him. I view him to be the worst president we've ever had during my lifetime. Seriously.

How does the world feel about the death penalty applied to the U.S soldier guilty of the slaughter of 16 Afghan non combatants?
It is being reported today that the soldier is said to suffer from brain damage. In other words, there may be mitigating circumstances where the death penalty would not apply.
It is tragic that innocent human lives were taken...and there is nothing that will restore their lives. Very tragic.

What is the difference from a Catholic and a Christian?
The word "catholic" of and by itself simply means "universal". Most people, however, use the term catholic when they are actually referring to the Roman Catholic Church, which claims to be the first Christian church begun by the Christ's chosen Deciple, St. Peter. According to the Roman Catholics, they are the only, true Christian church.
The first notable separation came with Martin Luther,...

If you're talking about reviews found on the Internet, no. Many such so-called "reviews" are posted by the hotels or resorts, themselves. You chose the company to work for, and in this country you are free to choose another. There are plenty of them out there.

Do you believe Obama when he says, “I’m going to keep doing everything I can to help you save money on gas." ?
Being the annointed candidate of the Democrat Party, there is no one asking "And how exactly do you intend to do this, Mr. President?" Perhaps that question will be posed to him later in the year. Perhaps we can look forward to having windmills strapped to our asses.
I think the president will say anything, promise anything, that will improve his chances for re-election. Truth and honesty...
