Nah not in 3 weeks. some people have been known to go as long as a month without a loss in strength or muscle mass.Assuming you were training before which you said you do.I would not worry, you would be surprised that your body probably could use a nice break. I would do some walking and biking or swimming though, to keep your fitness level up during the break. I hope this helps.=)

Doing pull ups with a wide grip works your lats(Latissimus Dorsi)more than anything else.The close grip will work more of your biceps(arm muscle used in curls). the neutral grip will be more balanced without an emphasis on one or the other. same is true for bench press wide grip and close grip are more focused on one muscle but a neutral grip works both fairly. I would say walking definitely because unlike jogging or running walking puts little to no stress on any major joint. If possible try doing leg squats, i know you said lower back was bad i am thinking if you did small reps like 1/4 of a normal rep you prob wont engage your lower back.But please see a doctor before trying stuff out, I only want to see you get better not worse off. I would stretch your hip daily, after its more flexible I bet the pain will leave you.Also try putting ice on it, maybe after a run.
