Answer to:
Does happiness become more obscure as intelligence and knowledge increases? Why or why not?
I think that mankind is slowly displacing happiness with knowledge. Why? It's hard to say, really. M Moon made a good argument, but her ability to articulate would make anything make sense. I can sum it up, but it may only satisfy me:
Would we be happy to know the answers to everything? Would we be happy to nothing at all?
Maybe there's only the place in between where happiness can be had....
Answer to:
Does knowledge bring a net amount of sorrow, happiness, or neither?
Is ignorance truly bliss? The less we know, the less we are burdened. Every bit of knowledge is a tiny Pandora's Box that pours of more questions, more Pandora's Boxes waiting to release even more questions. This pursuit is compelling and consuming. The individual may not, but humankind has forsaken happiness to find answers. Our thirst for knowledge could very well be the succor to our sorrow.

I think there are moments here and there when we just blank out. Our subconscious is always working, though.

Sleep should be mostly, if not totally, subconscious.

"aloud" or "out loud" ? This is one grammar thing that always seems to confuse me.
They are both correct and the context doesn't really matter so much. I think to make good use of either I would consider how you want your sentence(s) to sound. If I've used a lot of contractions in one sentence, I might want to use "out loud" instead of "aloud" so that it doesn't look so truncated. If I haven't used any contractions, I might see it fit to use "aloud" instead to give it a...

Modern English, sometimes described as the first global lingua franca, is the dominant language or in some instances even the required international language of communications, science, business, aviation, entertainment, radio and diplomacy. Pygmy hippos were thought to sweat blood. Early explorers thought that the skin of these animals was covered in blood - that the hippo must be sweating blood!

Good luck.

This can cause problems in the home and create an unpleasant environment. I'd make sure she can learn to like him unless she has good reasons for not liking him. This would be a...

Trust eliminates suspicion, doubt, false accusations, etc. which all lead to some sort of hostility between parent and child. A trusting parent can respect their children's decisions/lifestyle more and a trusting child will take most, if not all, or their parents' advice.

I don't think this is a good idea. It's low and takes advantage of a person's weakness. People that go to lengths to seek help for an addiction aren't getting it if they're being by preyed upon by others who can't get any sexual activity going for themselves through more respectable avenues.

This is gonna be tough on the eyes of other ABers I'm sure:
Usually as an act of desperation, women will perform sexual acts for money. Saying they have no choice is false. They have a choice.
Is it ok? If she made the choice to then yes. She provides a service she gets paid for.
It's not much different than the woman who only marries a man for his money? Or a soldier who is...

As if people of the US have basic thought process that differ from other humans around the world. Of course they do, Valorie. I'm not sure what they'd be though. Could be anything really.
