Answer to:
would anyone believe if jesus came back to earth today and declared himself
Jesus only returns to Earth at the END of the 7 year Tribulation period at Armegeddon. He returns with all the Saints who left at the Rapture. It will be very obvious when this Second Coming/ Glorious Appearing happens. Anyone making a claim to that identity ahead of that specific time would be delusional. The Rapture is visible only to the believers that get caught up when they meet Him in the...

If Knight Rider is an allegory for Mormonism, is K.I.T.T. symbolic of Mormon Jesus?
I asked this question myself a few months ago. I was pointing out the Mormon influence on Battlestar Galactica and someone responded that he saw that he thought Michael Knight was a Messiah analogy. Glen Larsonson was usually subtile in inserting the hints to Mormonism. Most people wouldn't notice them. Yet, in Battlestar Galactica he was more obvious, which is why I used that show in my question.

What does eternity feel like?
A famous expression to help concieve eternity is:
Imagine a giant marble the size of the Earth. Imagine that an eagle flys past the top of that marble once every 100 years and as he passes he lightly brushes one feather over the tip top of that marble. When this wears the mable down to dust eternity will have only just begun.

Did you know the Medicine world logo aka " The Caduceus" is honoring the snake who deceived Adam & Eve in Eden?
Actually it represents the staff with a carved snake image Moses was told to put up while in the wilderness. The Israelite's camp was being over-run with poisonous vipers. Everyone that got biten would die unless they looked upon the carved snake image and had faith in God that He would heal them. This healing power is why it's used as a medical symbol. Jesus compared Himself to that staff....

If we were to find life on another planet, would that be something that the bible could explain?
The Bible never said there wasn't life on other planets. Certainly microbial plant life exits here and there. The logic behind that is based on our Universe being pre-destined to undergo catastrophic upheavel during the Tribulation period. Stars falling, and the sky itself rolling up...

Yes, God sees everything. God invented sex and masterbation. It would be abnormal if we didn't use the private means He gave each of us to release pent up energies. Traveling into the past would also not be allowed as contamination to the timeline would have greater and greater effects the further back you'd go. The same...

Salvation results from believing in Christ's sacrifice in your place with effectual faith. Effectual faith is a free gift from God. This kind of faith can't be summoned at will and must be given by God. You can do nothing to earn saving faith as we are all unworthy. Sincerity will not earn the efectual tug on the heart. God gives many effectual callings during life. God can give the type of...

When a Christian dies, What happens? My Grandpa always says that they're not dead, but they are asleep on Earth but awake in Heaven.
To me the answer is simple when you consider the power of God is unlimited. When the believer dies he gets his glorified body - which is in reality the same Earthly body we had "transfigured" into the similitude of Christ himself - and goes directly into Gods presence. So absent from the body is to be present with the Lord for believers. Yet, anyone can see the Earthly bodies of believers are...

The first four books of the New Testiment are what is refered to as the Gosples. Almost all of Jesus' direct Words are contained in the Gosples. Why are forked tails and feet/hooves suggestive of association with Satan?
satan first possessed a willing serpent (an animal) in the tempting of Eve. Later it was said that the animals that had split hooves and chewed the cud were unclean for eating. satan is forever unclean and, since he has already been associated with animals, it would be natural to imagine him as a hooved beast seaking to devour souls. satan is also called the red dragon. Dragons are often...

How do you keep your Faith in difficult situations when it appears God doesn't help?
On MANY occasions God has rescued me in ways that can ONLY be described as miracles. Other times no delivery from danger came. The Church is the Bride of Christ (Jesus). The marrage supper is a dominant theme. Nobody is ever going to be good enough for God. Lucifer no longer exists - he became satan. satan isn't worthy of even a magot to have as a bride. Santa's elves have claimed that he swings both ways.

Jehovah allowed polygamy among his ancient servants, the Isrealites, but he does not allow it now. Is his standard changeable?
There is no place in the Bible forbidding having more than one spouse. Some will say that the New Testiment has scriptures that condemn the practice. This isn't completely correct. There are a few places where it's said that people who hold positions of leadership should have but one spouse. In each case it's left as a suggestion but not a solid rule and again the scriptures are specifically...

Have you ever seen an angel before? If you have, please describe how it was like and what happened.
Demons have identified themselves to me while possessing others. They aren't shy about identifying themselves. Angels on the other hand rarely let you know who they are. They tend to stay incogneto so we often are entertaining them unawares. They are all around - walking amongst us on a daily basis. Why do some people think that they have to afflict themselves to please God?
It is believed by Hindu Monks that enlightenment is derived through self deprevation. Buddism has a similar concept. From suffering you'd learn things you would never be conscious of otherwise. Is it true that the Christian concept of "Rapture" comes not from the Bible; but from Hal Lindsey's book "The late Great Planet Earth"?
The concept of the Rapture has been around way longer than the 1700's. It was taught as immenent from early church days. Those who try casting doubt pretend it's a modern invention. Yes the word itself isn't in the Bible. That doesn't mean the teaching isn't in it. Dinosaurs is a modern word that isn't in the Bible either but we all know they existed. what do you believe the 'second coming of Christ' will be?
Many think Jesus' time on Earth 2,000 years ago is what is called His first coming. That is actually not the case. The comings you hear about (both first and second) are both FUTURE RETURNS. The first coming is in the clouds at the event we refer to as the Rapture at the beginning of the seven year Tribulation period. One of the ways offerings were given to the Lord in the Old Testiment was called a wave offering. The priest would wave the offering when presenting it to the Lord in front of the congregation. When moved in the Spirit to wave your hands as you worship is of the same concept. It's an way of adding significance to the worship offered to honor the Lord.

Why do people call Gods son Jesus? The original scriptures say, unto a virgin a child shall be born and his name shall be called Emanuel.
Emanual is being interpreted as "God with us." When talking about Jesus we say He was litterally God in the form of man when He was here amongst us. To simplify saying that we call Him Emanuel as a title and a name.
He is still with us and still our Emanuel.

The Bible takes a long time to read if your making the effort to correctly absorb the teachings. Some people are simply not very good readers. I have known a few people who say they just read Jesus' words in red ink and rely on solid preaching for the rest. I've know others who read the Psalms only. At least they're reading something of God's Word. Others have lives so busy that they find...

Do we need to continually repent or are we safe for all times as Christians
Both actually.
Salvation is a blessed assurance so that those who are in Christ will never be condemned to Hell. Still Christians find themselves doing sinFULL things and constantly need to make improvements with Christ's help. If we say we have no sin then the truth is not in us but God is faithful and just to forgive our sins when we recognize, repent, and confess them. In His Grace He often...

Where was Jesus for the three days between His death and resurrection?
He decended to Hell to complete taking the punishment for humanities sins, but as He Himself was sinless Hell couldn't keep Him there. Catholic tradition says that while there Jesus preached the Gospel message to those who went there prior to His Earthly incarnation. If they accepted who He said He was as God's Son and believed God would accept them through Him while there they would be taken...

Why does God apparently only communicate with humans and never with animals?
God told the animals to trust Noah and go into the Ark without resisting. Animals can often "sense" dangers we can't and that could be God's communication as well. Balem's Donkey could see an Angel of God ready to strike down the rider while not visible to human eyes and moved to protect his rider. Horses are often mentioned as being used by the Heavenly Armies of God. A Prophit once asked for...

Would you want to experience "The Rapture" if it meant that everyone you ever loved would be left behind.
If loved ones are left behind it will not be God's fault. We either failed to witness for Him effectively or the people who got left were too stiffnecked to turn an ear to the Gosple truth. In any case the aspect of the Rapture that makes it desireable is the in person union with Jesus. It's all about Him - not us, so of course I'd still want to be a part of that great expierence. Y is listening to music bad if im a christian?? i dont listen to bad music its all about love..... WHY??????
This stems from a vague scripture refference to Lucifer as having been a leader of music as one of his pre-fall duties. The thinking is that all music that doesn't provide worship to God is inspired by satan himself as he's an expert in musical artforms. Churches tend to go to extremes in thier zeal to avoid unwholsome conduct, especially if there is a chance that there could be a connection...

Great question! I can honestly say that had never occured to me as a possability. Jesus first described Lazarus as sleeping to his deciples. The miricle was that Lazarus was raised from the dead - not from a coma or deep sleep. While Lazarus' BODY was dead -not asleep- I believe his soul, never-the-less, was kept in a sleep like state. His body was raised from the dead but the man's soul was...

Do jewish people receive the baptism of the holy ghost, and do they speak in tongues?
There are several times in the Old Testiment where people are described as being filled with God's Holy Spirit but in each instance the experience was temporary. Upon getting saved I looked through the scriptures for the FIRST instance where God identifed Himself; it was to Moses, at the burning bush meeting, when He said " I AM - The God of your fathers; the God of Abraham, and the God of Issac, and the God of Jacob." I ment to vote no.
There is no such claim reguarding the Holy Spirit specifically although that's a logical benifit. Heres the verse that is in dispute:John 1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
.
The main issue is with the second clause as "God" does NOT have an article but "Word" does. "God" and "Word" are nouns. An article is a word that conveys a personal refferance to the noun. The article is the english word "the" in each instance. The Greek words for "the"...

When I was debateing an athiest and a Jehovah's Witness I had to look up the expression,"In the beginning..." for the discussion. The scriptures rarely mention the females unless they do something noteworthy. Adam and Eve had daughters as well as sons. Incest wasn't outlawed by God until Moses' time. Yes. The locations of Hell and the Lake of Fire are kept ambiguous in scriptures. Some believe that Hell is within the bowels of the Earth - in a deminsion beyond our perception. I don't agree with the thought as a whole. Some Churches have become to secularized but the parishoner has the responsability to look for a church that preaches the uncompromised truth. There are still many true churches that won't let themselves get pushed into teaching a Godless creation.† † †

As a cult survivor I find the book "Churches that Abuse" to be stunningly precise on how cults begin, develop ,grow and survive. Agreed?
The book flap information is vague and does nothing to assure me that the author is capable of truely understanding what makes a true church legitimate. He may have some ideas as to how to spot some warning signs but it sounds like a guy instilling fear in people towards worshiping with the churches. The Bible says not to shy away from the assembling together for that purpose. This is just my...

Genesis 1:12
“I have given you all the seed bearing plants and herbs to use”.
What is your opinion on God and marijuana?
I've always believed that because recreational drugs exist that it's likely God made at least one perfect for use. Marijuana is as safe a drug as there can be so I personally believe this is the one recreational drug God would've ment for man.
Answer to:
Why don't more people take a literalist interpretation of Revelations? Like, what he saw is what people will see, scorpion centaurs and all.
People like to wish away judgements as symbolic. The plauges of Egypt were literal and it's reasonable to expect the Revelation judgements to have literal meanings as well as the symbolic. I believe, for example, there will be literal Beasts rising from the Sea as well as the symbolic Antichrist/False Prophit rising from the sea of humanity.
Excellent question, by the way. †††

Where do dead angels go? Often read of great battles, St Michael slaying the dragon... if an angel is killed in battle, while in Heaven, where does he/she go?
There is a little known Christian concept of renewal that may apply here. Everything in this world moves towards a state of decay. This is known as Entropy. People grow old and die. Cars rust. Order decays into disorder. The universe itself appears to be winding down. In the Heavenly realm, however, God is continuously renewing all His creations. Think of it this way - if you get mad and throw...

If a comet or asteroid were on a collision course with Earth, would you think "The Lord has sent this firey kill rock to show us his love"?
The astoroid/comet named Wormwood is on the way. God doesn't pelt us with gigantic metors pre tribulation precisely because He IS loving. After the rapture though... Wormwood is the size of a mountain and after it hits the streams of water turns to blood. Another event is mentioned of God throwing 100 lb. flaming meteors upon the heads of men. These and other judgements are only on those who...

John Todd claims the existence of a vast Satanic conspiracy led by an order of witches called the Illuminati. Is he wrong?
The Satanic order of the Illuminati is real. I suppose they might utilise witchcraft. Most witches don't realize thier "powers" come from satan and don't believe in him or any other diety. They think they're tapping into a cosmic force. The Illuminati are aware that satan is the true source for witchcraft so I suppose they do use it. As far as who is in the Illuminati nobody is completely...

Christian tracts entitled "The Last Generation" and "The Beast" claim that the Pope is the Anti-Christ. Is this belief Biblical?
The Bible does NOT say that. This belief has to do with some Catholic practices. One of the titles they give to the Pope is Potentate for example. This Title is reserved for Christ alone. There is a numerology that ties into many facits of thier religious hierarchy that when added up repeatedly equal 666. His famous pointed hat is tied to the occult. So on and so on. Why do some christians object to Harry Potter and Frosty the Snowman? These stories demonstrate magical powers in an obvious fictional context. It is the Xtians who put forth their magical stories as fact!
The reason for objecting to Harry Potter is that the wrighter herself admits that she placed real witchcraft spells in the books. The books, therefore, literally teaches kids to perform witchcraft. I studied wicca (while seeking the Christian God) as a teenager and know how allurig it can be and consequently dangerous.
I've never heard of people taking Frosty the snowman seriously....

If you believe the Bible to be literally true, how do you explain the long day of Joshua and the sun supposedly standing still?
It has to do with a time event horizon intersecting with the Earth when God "streached" out the Heavens. As this was mutually benificial to Gods plan He used this occasion, by granting Joshuas request, to do the expansion of the Heavens. The Bible records that this was the...

It was believed until modern science that emotions originated in the bowels. The Bible was speaking in terms that was familiar throughout the majority of mans existance. The harp refferance indicates compassion and love. God was speaking of a time He intended to show kindness for the land of Moab.

Have you ever walked out of a church sermon because it made you angry?
Not walk out - I spoke out - by reflex action - not meaning to - but was unable to stop myself. The Preacher was clearly about to say that poor people don't know God because God wouldn't let His people be in poverty. Before he could say it I spoke out in defence of the poor. TOTALLY a reflex action. I can't stand people kicking people who are already down. Saved people can be...

Will Jesus be tortured again when He comes back?
No. Jesus first returns in the clouds to gather His people off the Earth then immediately returns to Heaven with them without ever physically touching the ground. 7 years later He does physically return to the planet at Armegeddon. When He returns He will not be restraining His powers. He will immediately kill all those opposed to Him with " the brightness of His comeing." This is...

Answer to:
'sit down' , 'stand up', 'sit down' , 'don't stand on this one', 'OK song got a little louder, lets all stand now!'.. Why is it like this in church?
You stand at the opening and closing hymns because that's when the preacher enters and leaves the congregation whith God's Word for the week and when the Crossbearer (Crucifer) carries the churches cross up or down the ailse. In Biblical times the congregation would be expected to stand whenever passages were read directly from the Bible itself. Whenever you walk past the Alter your...

Is anyone in heaven yet? do we not have to wait for judgement day first? or is there a judgement day for each individual?
I personally believe that we're transported to the future event of the Rapture upon death (the Saints of ALL TIME meet with Jesus in the clouds) which explains why there are bodies in the graves even though we are supposed to have our bodies transfigured when going to Heaven. I also believe we'd be allowed to go back in time from that point to watch over our loved ones or witness the...

Do Christians believe that God rewards or punishes me for my actions or because enough believers prayed for something good or bad to happen to me? If so how do I reconcile this with "free will"?
Believers don't pray for bad things to happen to other people - only kind things. We might pray for a bad persons evil plans to backfire on them so that thier intended victims don't get harmed.
God has free will too, you know.
He doesn't have to act on all prayers. We trust Him as the Just Judge of the Universe to make the right decisions reguarding our prayers. Sometimes...

Either Jesus died on cross and stayed dead, or he became alive again and went to daddy's home. In the latter case, where is the sacrifice? How can Christian have their cake of 'sacrifice for the sins of humanity' after having eaten it by 'resurrection'?
If Jesus had stayed dead there would be no resurrection hope. He'd still be in Hell right now having taken our sins upon Himself. All would be hopeless. If any of us could carry the worlds sins to Hell ourselves we would never be permitted to rise from Hades because our own sins would deserve to be there and would keep us dead. Only a perfect person accepting the worlds sins would be able...

The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are co-equal in His persona as God. God has set an order to families. Here on Earth we treat our fathers as the head of the household with the wife. Children are to honor and be obeidiant to thier parents. God of His own accord has put this order in place for Himself as well.(Perhapse to lead by example) As His Son He obays and reverances the Father aspect of...

Does the bible know you?
The Bible is the Word. Jesus is the Word made flesh. The Bible is considered a LIVING Word from God. The paper and ink are not alive but the Word conveyed is. God knows everyone, Jesus knows everyone, so the Bible knows...

Although we will some day sit in judgement of the Angels for now we are all lower than them, while still on Earth, and should be respectful of thier not having followed satan nor inheiriting the curse of Adam and Eve's disobedience. Global warming may be actually happening but it won't (significantly) effect human life on Earth until the point in the Tribulation period where God said He'd scorch people with the heat from the sun. He may use the depletion of the ozone layer to do this. God often uses natural phenominons to perform His works with. Because this scorching from the sun is prophesied, and therefore...

The Christian religions hold no such belief reguarding intellegence levels. I think this misconception comes from the scriptures that speak of an order to authority. Suicide is thought by some as the sin you can't repent of. While that's true it's not the measure of salvation. God reaches out to all of us at times during life. If you show signs of responding God then gives what is called an effectual calling. Yet, anyone can see the Earthly bodies of...

Before Tom Cruise went into Scientology I used to think he'd be a person for kids to look up to as a Christian. He seemed to me to have a compassionate heart and genuinely means well. Then after his conversion to Scientology he started jumping around on couches and acting nutty. If he started acting normal again and could live down his recent wierdness then I'd still like to see him...

If the world was perfect before original sin, how is it that there was an evil talking serpent there? Doesn't that imply that the serpent was perfect, or the world was not perfect?
Lucifer was not created evil. He was once one of the very greatest of Angels and given total access to all God had made. God loved him dearly and adorned him with precious jewels and prestige. When it was revieled that man was to be Gods object of affection, and to be considered His children that was to inherrit all God had made, Lucifers pride went out of control. He went from loving God to...

What is a good solution for stopping someone from using vulgarity and swear words every two minutes of their life?
I've cured MANY people of vulger language by simply saying, " Watch your language." every time they'd use prophanity. It may annoy them but if you do it every time then they will begin to become self aware of thier speach and eventually quit. Everyone I've done that for has thanked me once they were broken of the habbit.

It's been a while since I read that portion of Deuteronomy. First Cousins is definately forbidden. I remember the wordage for all similar dateing issues was that the reason would be because they are " near realatives." The modern laws refer to it as incest up to third cousins. Why risk it. It's not like there aren't enough potential mates on the planet.

Do all Catholics pray to Mary? I recently asked my friend if he prayed to Mary and he laughed and said "No. Everyone thinks we do but we don't." Is it a common myth that Catholics pray to Mary?
They sometimes deny the praying to Mary and say they are only asking her for intervention. Most will acknowledge they ARE praying to Mary then also add that it's for intervention.
Judge for youself...how does that prayer start...
Hail Jesus full of grace...? Who are they addressing in the beginning of that prayer ? It's Mary isn't it ? The Bible clearly says that we have ONLY...

My initial response was from memory, but as the details were questioned I re-read the data afresh.

In Luke 4 when Satan is tempting Jesus, why does Jesus respond with "It is written.......". This is the prince of darkness talking to one part of the being that created the universe itself (including Satan) what relevance is human scripture to these two?
He began each response " It is written..." so as to not directly address satan. He's just saying quotes because satan isn't worth addressing directly - other than to command him to, " Get ye behind me, satan,..." That command required stating whom He was telling to get behind Him. Also He quoted scriptures to counter satan's misuse of scriptures.

According to Paul, all governments are directly created by God. What methods does God use to control democratic elections? Circumventing free will to make people vote for the right candidate? Machine tampering? Angels voting under assumed identities?
Governmental positions are of God. How those positions get used and who fills the posts are usually mans decisions. God will on occasion place His choices in office by putting it into the minds of men to have those officials elected for the porpose of directing history to conform to His will. Nobody can resist God's will. His purpose will stand in the end. Again, in most cases, however,...

I believe one of the mistakes many man makes is to believe in god they expect him to walk with us on earth but they fail to realize if he did this people's faith would not be true and death would be pointless. do you agree or disagree?
Disagree. God does walk with us on Earth through His Holy Spirit - but only after salvation. First is faith then the dayly walk. If you mean, however, physically walking next to us in a bodily form then it gets more complicated. There would still be plenty of ways for God to try our faith even then but visually seeing Him would remove some areas that we currently need faith for.

The Bible does not suggest doing anything without proper preperation. It does say " Faith without works is dead. JW's go in pairs. One experienced " witness " and a newer novice. The experienced one will not risk the newer convert hearing the truth from someone who truely knows what scriptures really teach. If just once you talk to them with clear knowledge of the Bible they will black your house out of thier places to seek converts from. You'll never have one at your door again.

Do you use the term "believer" when you really mean Christian? Believer is a pretty broad term. Isn't any theist a believer, even if he or she doesn't believe what you believe?
Yes Christians go by the term " believers " as well. You have a valid point that there can be believers of pretty much anything. Other groups, however, aren't calling themselves by that expression so it's just understood that it refers to the Christians sience believing faith in Jesus is core to the definition of what a true Christian is.

Why does mainstream Christianity teach that one can lose his or her salvation anyway?
This is not the belief of the majority of Christianity and is not as mainstream as it might seem. The Bible does say there is a sin that is unto death for believers. That would be to knowingly choose to walk away from Christ ( God ) after being born again. This is next to an impossability but it can happen because God never over rules our freedom of choice in all matters.

Is a relationship with God like having a pen pal who never writes back, but someone told you they were gonna visit someday, so you keep waiting and waiting and waiting, and try not to be angry and get your ass kicked when they finally DO show up?
This pen pal HAS written back. There have been times I've prayed then gone to my Bible - open it completely at random - and read the answer in the VERY SAME WORDS I prayed to Him in. This is not an unusual phenominon amongst believers. The Bible is considered a LIVING word from God and can speak to those who listen.

Hypnotism is thought, in some circles, to close down the mind to such a degree that spirits are able to enter the body and plant suggestions or even false memories that the person when returning to thier senses believes are thier own. Others feel that the hypnotist influences your easily suggestive mind while in that state wether intentionally or not. This is why almost all " past life...

Christianity dates back to around 30 CE. It, like other religions, has a creation story about the beginning of everything. I suppose Adam and Eve are supposed to have passed this information down. How long ago are Adam and Eve supposed to have lived?
The first books of the Bible were written down by Moses. He did not get the stories from it being verbally passed down but instead got the first books directly from God Himself. There were stories that were passed down up to that point but they certainly didn't go all the way back to Adam and Eve. God had to supply the information about the beginnings Himself. Would Jesus really have said this - "But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me. " Luke 19:27
Jesus was telling the parable of the man who left on a journey to recieve a Kingdom but after he left some of the servents who had served under him in his houshold sent letters to arrive ahead of him that they didn't want this man to be given a kingdom for they would not have him to RULE over them. Hugh Nibley, once said that "if such a charge [the use of a peep stone] were ever proven to be true, it would cast serious doubt on his [Joseph Smith's] claim [to divine authority and inspiration]." (The Myth Makers, p.142). Thoughts?
He was charged with that very thing on multiple occasions far prior to begining the Mormon religion. This is documented fact. The book titled Kingdom of the Cults details the evelution of all major religions. I think it's a must read for anyone on a quest for truth.

Is "No one should ever claim that their view of spirituality (or religion) is the only true way!" in fact, an exclusive absolutist claim? In other words, is it, in fact, blind denial based hypocrisy?
Your quote is a little off and I don't have a concordance handy to quote it accurately either but what the Bible says is that no one interpretation of scriptures is necessarily the only correct interpretation. This is in the Bible and therefore is what the Holy Spirit says on the subject. The reason is that believers mature in the Lord at individual rates. One person might quickly be ready...

Adolph Hitler killed millions, predominately God's so called "chosen" people. Katy Perry kissed a girl and she liked it. Will God really torture them both equally in the firey pits of Hell?
There is ample evidence in the Bible for the concept of various levels to Hell or perhapse better stated as personal Hells. The Bible says even one sin makes a person eligible for Hell because only perfection can be in Gods presence. This is the reason for the need for a perfect life as a substitue for ours to enter His presence. There we'll have our sin nature removed so we'll never...

The problem Christians have with Yoga is that it was first developed as a way of enticeing spirits into the body in mid-eastern religion. Because it's origin ( foundation ) is such it can't be spiritually good for the believer. We avoid it and tend to stick with palaties. I recently caught the last few minutes of a TV show that mentioned something called the 'prosperity gospel' . What is this exactly?
Prosperity gospel would be more correctly called a prosperity principle based on Biblical teachings on how to structure the uses of money. The basic teaching is that everything we have originates from God and we should be be appreciative to Him for the things He provides on a productive Earth. God doesn't require we show appreciation but He likes it when we do. God has expressed that we...

Will looking at pornography and masturbation prevent a young man from being able to go on a mission?
The question is will this keep from being allowed on a mission trip. God wants everyone to hear His Gospel message so as long as you maintain discretion and keep your private activities to yourself and can still effectively witness His truth then I doubt He'd mind too much. As far as the group your planning to go with they may very well show less understanding of your human nature. How are...

The logic used by Christians (and many of the religious in general) who condemn masturbation seems to be that it's a waste of one's "Seed" on something other than spawning a child, so why do so many also seem to frown on females masturbating?
Not all Christians feel that way. God could have created us without a means of releasing pent up energies but was kind enough to allow us a release for those pressures that can be private.

That's the first I've ever heard that - but I'm not mormon. It seems impossible from a Christian stand point. God never cursed Cain to not be able to die. He'd be as suseptable to death as anyone else. God said nobody could kill him without recieving a curse for doing so then placed a mark on him that those of his time would know who he was and not dare harm him. God...

Hear O Isreal, the Lord your God is one God.
This has been explained over and over and over, yet people keep asking this same question. It's not that hard to grasp - really.

In a discussion I was told that God has to prepare the one's heart to be ready to accept him and that Bible doesn't make much sense without this preparation. Do you agree that God so chooses those to who he will reveal himself?
I understand where this comes from. Many people find the Bible too difficult to really grasp. Many unsaved people can and do comprehend it ( in a secular way ) without the Holy Spirit guiding them through it. You can have a head knowledge of scriptures without having a heart knowledge of the same. Reading the Bible without the Spirit's guidance can never bring the full message into focus....

I've been watching this developing. There is every reason to believe this will become THE mark of the Bible. In Australia this implant is already in use for financial transactions. In Britain its being used in hospitals to track patients. A bar in Florida and a bar in Spain have implemented this as a way for customers to buy their drinks. Several high security businesses have begun using...

If all we spirit children desperately wanted a body, what about the Holy Ghost, who doesn't have (and apparently never had) a body?
(1 Ne 10:17–19; 31:17; D&C 8:2–3; 39:20–24; 68:25–28; 121:46; AoF 1:4)
The Holy Spirit decended opon Jesus bodily as a dove and He has touched others as a holy flame. The Bible does not limit Him to one manifestation and certainly never said He was without a form of His own.

What is one of the most shocking things you have ever READ in the bible? READ only... i don't need vague memories =]. personally i think all the incest in it was pretty disgusting/ funny/ shocking.
The Bible tells of an incident where God was asking the hosts in Heaven how they'd go about convincing a King to go into battle so he'd get killed in the conflict. One spirit said he'd go and be a LYING spirit in the mouthes of all the King's advisors. Now this didn't shock me but how God answered certainly did. He said to that spirit to go and THAT HE'D SURELY BE...

Young earth creationists; other that the bible, do you have any evidence that the earth is only 600 years old?
The methods used to say the Earth is billions of years old actually help the young Earth position. The very guy who came up with carbon dating said he considered the method ( whether the rate of decay was from utilizing carbon OR ANY OTHER SOURCE for that matter ) only reliable up to 3,000 years and that only if there were no major calamities to contaminate the results such as a world wide...

If God is real and He knows all about you before He creates you then why does He even create people that he knows are going to hell?
There are some who hold to a "Calvanist" version of predestination which creates the very problem your discussing here. For Calvanism to be true then God would have to be a monster who purposely never intended to save certain people. It IS scriptural to say God knows us before we're born BUT it's an error to say He has predetermined who will be saved. He knows our basic...

There are a few places in the Bible with similar expressions. While I remember reading that scripture I can't recall which book, and you did't specify, that specific verse comes out of. Fortunately knowing the precise source won't be neccessary to offer a response. In Biblical days it was a great insult for a captured enemy to get released either with all or a significant portion...

If God has a personal relationship with each of us as Christianity advocates, is it possible that people hear "the Word" in different ways, not always understood or appearing "true" to others? If so, how should these differences be accommodated?
It has been my experience that the Holy Spirit does indeed speak to us as individuals. One follower my be more prepared for some teachings than others so He wisely walks us through His Word from the best perspective for each persons ability to understand and accept His truths.

Nobody thinks an eternity of celibacy sounds more like a punishment than a reward?
Some believe that when Jesus said, reguarding marriage in the afterlife,- that people will niether marry nor be given in marrage but we'd rather all be as the angels- that this ment we'd become sexless (niether male nor female) because there are some who think of angels as being genderless. Without genders we'd have no need for sex or sexual urges. This is where the no sex in...

In Galations 2 we read about Paul correcting Peter reguarding giving off an impresion that justification can be earned by keeping the Mosaic laws. My pocket KJV does not use both " in " and " of " in the verse your quoting wich you'll no doubt attribute to mistranlation from the Greek. I have no idea where you got the second version - it sounds a little like an...

Are we really going to argue samantics here !?! "In" versus "of". Isn't this what the atheists keep laughing at us for - quibbling over minor issues. Consider that it's Jesus' faith in the Father to accept His blood sacrifice on our behalf that is the faith "of" Jesus that we need to put our faith "in" for salvation. For by faith we are...

My KJV New Testiment pocket Bible reads, "This rightiousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference." This is saying that those who believe in Jesus are just as unworthy of salvation by our deeds as anyone else. It's only because of faith in Jesus that rightiousness is applied to our lives. This faith removes the burden of trying...

What are the signs of the antichrist? the foretold actions/ ways to recognize it
There is a spirit that people can take upon themselves that is an antichrist spirit. This type of antichrist has always been around. The purpose of Old Testiment laws was so mankind could see how futile trying to measure up to God's perfect standards actually is and that we might recognize the need for someone to permanantly atone for our shortcomings so that we can be reconciled to God.

The bible says not to commit adultry. It also says that once you get a divorce and remarry the person who married you & you for that matter are commiting adultry. How is that fair? What are your thoughts on this?
This issue can be confusing so after researching this matter some years ago I tried to come up with an easy to understand way of explaing it. Here's my take on these scriptures, but if you disagree follow what you believe God would expect of you. It's true that God only acknowledges divorce by infidelity as valid, and even then He'd prefer the couple work it out rather than get...
Answer to:
Who did Cain marry...his sister or someone from Nod? and Who did Seth marry...his sister?
They did marry thier sisters. God didn't forbid that act until the population was sufficient to make it unnecessary. It's specifically outlawed in Duteronomy. Prior to that it was allowable. Interestingly royalty in Europe continued marrying near relatives until only a few hundred years ago believing the leadership trait would be better passed on that way (of course this was untrue).

According to the Bible, (Matt 24, Rev. 6 and 20), would things on earth get IMMEDIATELY better after Christ's return? Or would they get worse for "a little while"?
There are two comeings of Jesus yet to happen. This is were most people get confused. The first of the future comings of the Lord takes place in the clouds. At this time Jesus doesn't actually set foot on the Earth. This visitation is gather His followers off the planet and to return back to Heaven with them, leaving only the unsaved to suffer a seven year period without anyone to restrain...

There are so many versions of the Bible out there. Which one is the best one believe in? Which is the actual, and the original copy of the Bible? Please include sites and any other references.
The entire Bible has been assembled from texts found scattered in different cultures. The Septuagint and Vulgate texts containing most of the oldest versions. Historians are often amazed to discover how precise the versions were copied by the hands of scribes. Scribes had to be exact in every copy right down to the last detail. The fame of the Dead Sea scrolls is that as THE oldest found copies...

In the film the omen the preist tells mr thorn a qoute from revelations & says when the jews return to zion etc etc then you & i must die what bible is quoting from
That movie uses half-truth / half-made up theology to accelerate the plot. The Bible warns that anyone adding to or taking away from what Revelations says will be cursed proportionately to how much they distorted the prophasies therein. Don't take Hollywoods idea of doctrine factually.

Answer to:
Do you follow Jesus, who warned his followers to neither “break one of these LEAST commandments” nor “TEACH MEN SO” or Paul, who taught the opposite, he said to people “we are DELIVERED FROM THE LAW"?
What Jesus and Paul said are not in contradiction - your simply not seeing the entire message. Anyone not born again remains under the law and must live a perfect life to get into Heaven without Jesus. Once Jesus is accepted in your place for judgement His perfection is applied to your life and you become free from the law (of sin that requires eternal death - seperation from God - as...

I am very confused about the book of Revelation in the bible. I am unsure whether to take these descriptions metaphorically or literally. I want to learn about "End Times" and what God's plan for our future is, but I am having trouble understanding!
I'm not going to further confuse you with a long list of numbered / lettered points and obscure references. Some favor looking at Revelations from either a literal or metaphorical approach. I've found it best to do both. In every case where figurative imagery is used the Bible interprets itself. Many people have researched Revelations and there are many very good books available to...

Answer to:
Once you get to heaven, do you stay in heaven?
Absence from the body puts you in the presence of God who is in Heaven. You remain there until the end of the Tribulation when Jesus returns to physically rule on this Earth for 1000 years. All His saints return at the same time Jesus comes back. After the 1000 years of peace this Earth is destined to be destryed with fire and a New Earth is created to be our eternal dwelling place.
Answer to:
Religion is regarded by the ignorant as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful. - Seneca. Do you agree?
In the Bible's words (paraphrased):
Because in mans wisdom Jesus was rejected - so God has chosen the foolish sounding things that you hear preached to be the means by which saving faith comes for salvation.
The Bible states that the wisdom of this world will be worthless when the truth is revealed.

Answer to:
In how many years do you think our world will end, and does your guess have anything to do with Biblical clues?
Biblically all things written about concerning the end of the Era of Grace must be fullfilled before the generation that saw Israel reborn into a nation can pass away as a whole. Then comes 7 years of trouble upon the Earth followed by the 1000 years of peace. After that God said He'd burn up everything with unquenchable heat so great that even the elements would melt!
