Answer to:
If I have a 10 gallon tank, and I want to get tropical fish, do I still need a 10 gallon heater if the lights above it are heating the water too almost the appropriate temperature? Would a 5 gallon heater do?
For a ten gallon tank you should get a 50 watt heater with a thermostat attached, unless the room is really cold in which case you will need a bigger one. You can't rely on the lights to heat the tank since you should be switching them off at night, plus they won't switch off when the tank gets to the correct temperature like a heater with a thermostat will.

I have always found women hot, but recently I have found myself sexuallty attracted to gay porn. Is this normal?
Yeah, it is pretty normal for teenagers to sometimes have homosexual fantasies but it doesn't mean you are gay. If you are curious and you want to watch gay porn, go ahead, satisfy your curiosity. I hate to sound patronising but you will probably grow out of it because all the raging hormones you have when you are a teenager make you do funny things sometimes! So it's really nothing...

Is it common for two "straight" guys to have sexual encounters with each other?
Sure, it's called experimentation! Lots of people have done it before, usually in their late teens/early twenties but it can happen any time. I think guys tend to talk about it less, but I know at least one of my male friends has 'tried it' with another guy.

My goldfish lies upside down on its head at the bottom of the tank. If I feed it (or knock on the wall), it becomes active again and swims normally. Is it sleeping?
It sounds like a swimbladder problem to me too, you can get over-the-counter medication for this at most pet stores. It can be caused by a number of things, the main cause is an internal bacterial infection which can be cleared up by meds, but if your goldfish is a fancy goldfish (ie has double fins and a slightly compressed body) it could be genetic.
Try the meds, also try expanding the...

I found out my good friend has been avoiding to tell me things he knows would hurt my feelings. I told him he lied to me, he said he did not lie & that omissions are not lies. I believe omissions are betrayals. Am I wrong? Did he betray our friendship
It depends what things they are. If it is superficial stuff like appearance etc, then it is no big deal. Not telling people stuff isn't lying, sometimes it is more polite to just not say anything.
If it is important stuff he is keeping from you, I would be more upset then, but cut him some slack as he was trying to keep you from getting upset so he had good intentions.

No, you don't have to be top of the class to be a goth. All you have to do is wear goth clothing, listen to goth music and hang around with other goths. Goth is not a private members club or a secret society, it does not have an entrance exam or an initiation ceremony, it's just a style of clothing and music.

There is a slight risk of losing a lens so make sure you take a spare or your glasses if you need to drive.

Is it wrong to want to kill my last pet fish or flush it down the toilet because I'm tired of it being around and I want to get rid of the tank?
Yes it is. Fish are easy to rehome, just take it back to the pet shop. There's no excuse for killing an animal just because you're bored of it. Maybe put a little more thought into getting a pet next time.
You should never flush fish down the toilet anyway (dead or alive) because there is a risk of spreading diseases to native fish.

Because they just think it's a tuba, like John said. When you are not used to seeing them, you don't realise the size difference. No, it's not big enough. He may be a small fish that is able to breath air, but keeping the water quality stable in a tank that size will be nearly impossible. For a betta, I would recommend the following:

He will not grow to the size of the tank, nor will any fish....

IF SOME ONE BELIEVES THAY FOUND OR KNOW WHERE NOHA'S ARK IS WHY CANT WE EXPLORE IT
Well, the latest theory is that the remains of the ark are up Mount Salaban in Iran and as you can see from this article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noah%27s_Ark#The_search_for_Noah.27s_Ark it is 13,000 feet up, which probably explains the lack of visitor's centre and gift shop.

Answer to:
If I have goldfish in a ten gallon tank, and they're very healthy, would it not be a good idea to put them into a pond? Just a plain, natural pond with no chemicals?
Well 10 gallons is not enough for 2 full grown goldfish. They need at least 10 gallons per fish to be healthy long term. Personally I think single tail goldfish (common, shubunkins and comets) are better off in a pond anyway as they can grow to a foot long so often ended up stunted in aquaria.
If you have a natural pond that is BIG, then I would say yes. Crucian carp (goldfish's wild...

Bettas have a tendency to be a bit grumpy, they are naturally aggressive fish (hence why they are called siamese fighting fish!). If he's building a bubble nest then that's a sign you are taking good care of him, so well done for that. So yeah, I would say that's just his personality.

I don't think they should be. Everyone knows that rock concerts are loud, there are disclaimers on the back of most concert tickets (in the UK) and you can easily pick up some earplugs from most pharmacies so there is no reason to not protect yourself.
Also, you would have to go to a LOT of concerts to damage your hearing. I doubt you could prove that the concerts alone damaged your...

Sure, once you're 18 you can do whatever you want. But I think you should discuss it with your mum because it would be upsetting for both of you if you just plan it all without talking to her about it. Plus, moving out of home and going to college is a big deal so you could really use your mum's support (financial or otherwise)

Are maggots good for fish?
I feed my goldfish rat tailed maggots as a treat every so often (maybe once a month) but as they are quite high in protein, it is inadvisable to feed them to fish a lot as they can pollute the water quickly. Best to do as Oregon suggested and stick to insects like mosquito larva or bloodworms as these are a more natural diet for most fish.

Is it legal to carry around a small pocket knife or switchblade in your pocket?
In which country? In the UK, you are allowed to carry a knife of 3" or under, providing it is foldable (ie not fixed). This page tells you more about our knife laws- http://www.bkcg.co.uk/guide/law.html
Switchblades are not legal here and while it may be legal to carry a small pocketknife it is not something I would recommend.

Answer to:
Should bands be considered as plural or singular? i.e. is it "Queen is great" or "Queen are great"?
The gramatically correct answer is that 'Queen IS great' (and it's true!) since there is only one band called Queen. However since most people, especially in the UK, would say 'Queen ARE great', this has become acceptable as well. I tend to say 'Queen ARE great' because most people do in this country and I find it awkward saying 'Queen IS great' for some reason...

My black moor goldfish sits at the top of the tank with his tail bent and head down. He doesn't swim around much. When food is put in, then he moves for that. I noticed where the tail is bent, it looks white. He is all black. Any suggestions?
Well black goldfish do have a tendency to lose their black but they usually go red/orange first before white. This could be finrot but without knowing more about the symptoms I can't say for sure. Finrot looks like a white fuzzy bit on the edge of the fins, and as you can tell by the name, it causes the fin to rot. This can easily be cured by treatments available at most pet stores, but you...

I have a friend who carries a knife for protection. Anyone know the statistics on them being used against the owner in a defense situation? I want her to know how much more dangerous it is.
This site is from the UK but it states that 65% of people who carry knives have them used against them- http://www.insight-security.com/facts-knife-crime-stats.htm#Statistics%20-%20the%20numbers
Maybe you could take your friend to a self-defence class, it would be a fun thing to do together and it would make her feel safe enough to not carry a knife.

Can I use baking soda to raise the alkalinity in my swimming pool?
Well I don't know much about swimming pools but I know a bit about water chemistry so here goes-
Changing the pH of water using baking soda depends on how water is buffered. Buffering is the ability of water to withstand pH changes.
For example, if water has a high buffering capacity, you will have to add more baking soda to alter the pH than you would if the water had a low buffering...

Why do people cut the tails off of some breeds of dogs?
Mostly for aesthetic reasons nowadays. Tail docking originally started in hunting and fighting dogs. People would dock the tails so they did not get caught in shrubs or the undergrowth, to make them faster (!), to prevent injury in dogfights, to prevent rabies...
Tail docking will soon become illegal in the UK, unless the dog is a working dog or needs it for medical reasons.

It's probably a combination of national monuments (Statue of Liberty, Empire State etc), great shops, culture (museums, opera, Broadway), restaurants and nightlife. Plus there have been so so many songs and movies about it over the years, it's become almost this fairytale legend place.

You could join a club or take a class, that's a great way to meet people. It doesn't have to be every week if you don't have time, you could just go once a month or so.

What would be the best fish to buy for a beginner?
It would depend on how much space you have. If you only have space for a small aquarium, I would recommend either a betta (on its own!!) or some guppies or neon tetras. These are all fairly easy fish to keep and you will probably be able to breed the guppies. Contrary to popular opinion, tropical fish are no harder to keep than coldwater fish.
If you have enough room for a 3 foot+ aquarium I...

How advanced do I need to be to buy some bubble eye fish? I am a beginner.
By bubble eye I assume you mean goldfish. Bubble eyes are a little more delicate than regular goldfish because of their eye sacs. You should no have anything sharp in the aquarium or have too-strong filtration suction that could damage their eyes.
They will need between 10-12 gallons each (yes really) and should not be kept with any other kinds of goldfish except maybe celestials since their...
Answer to:
What type of water should be used for Betta fish, if tap water is inappropriate, and distilled bottled water is said to be a waste of your money?
Sometimes tap water can have high nitrates or chloramine which is unsuitable for fish.
You should be able to get RO (reverse osmosis) water from your local aquatic store, it should only cost a few dollars for about 20 gallons. This is water that has had almost all trace elements removed, thus removing things harmful to the fish. This means that you will have to add certain things to the...

Which boils faster hot or cold
I assume you are talking about soup since this is in the soup section? Anyway, hot soup boils faster because the temperature doesn't have as far to rise before it reaches boiling point. I don't know where this 'cold things boil faster' stuff comes from, but if you think about it logically:

Answer to:
I understand that goldfish are cold water fish, so what is the warmest temperature they can stand before having health issues? Do I need to crank up the AC in my house to drop the aquarium temperature?
As D4RK M4S73R said, the ideal temperature for goldfish is between 20-24C (fancy goldfish prefer the temperature closer to 24, single tail goldfish prefer it a little cooler).
If you are having trouble with your tank over-heating, leave the lid and glass cover open during the day and aim a fan at the surface of the water.
Add extra aeration during hot weather because warmer water carries...

My Betta is not eating, and at the slightest movements and sounds, he goes crazy swimming around his tank, running into the tank walls and rocks at the bottom. I have had him for 6 months, and this behavior has just started. What's wrong?
90% of fish illnesses are caused by poor water quality so that should be the first thing you check.
As a guide, the ideal condtions for a betta are as follows:
Ammonia- 0
Nitrite- 0
Nitrate- up to 50ppm, but absolutely no higher
pH- 6-7
Temp- around 24-28C
You may have heard that bettas live in puddles in the wild so can be kept in small bowls with no filtration- this is a total...

Why is it that women's bra-cup sizes often seem to bear little or no relation to how big their breasts actually look?
It does also depend a bit on back (chest) size. I am an F cup but because I have a *tiny* chest size (28 inches) I don't look much bigger than most other women.
Posture can make a difference too, a lot of big boobed women tend to stoop a little to hide their size.

My goldfish often seems like he is dead, at night and even during the day sometimes, he will float to the top of the tank and lay there for hours at a time. After a really long time, he will become active again. Is this normal?
Nope, it can indicate a swim-bladder problem which is more than likely caused by poor water quality (chances are the tank is too small). It could be down to constipation so it's worth treating for that first- feed him a shelled de-frosted pea. Have a look at this page for some basic goldfish advice- http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/pfk/pages/show_article.php?article_id=418

Most goldfish tend to lose pigmentation with age. My 'black' moor gradually lost all her black and is now orange with white tips on her fins. Black is the most unstable colour in goldfish. This has happened gradually over the last 4 years and has nothing to do with sunlight.
Most pigmentation loss is due to pedigree. If you buy a really expensive goldfish from a breeder, it is more likely to...

They will survive, the same as a cat or dog would, but they will be very very very annoyed at you for not feeding them. If a sign on the rear of a dump truck states, "not responsible for rock damage to your windshield," who is responsible?
You are! You should keep a safe distance if there is a sign like that on the truck. If you drive too close and you get a chipped windscreen, it's unlucky but it's not the truck's fault.

Should auto drivers be re-exmained, at age 65, in order to keep their drivers license?
I think there should be an age at which drivers should be re-tested. In the UK, all you have to do is fill in a form saying that you feel you are still able to drive safely. My great-aunt (80 odd) always says yes, despite the fact that she is a danger to other road users.
Answer to:
What country has the lowest age restrictions regarding alcohol?
It depends what you mean- in the UK you have to be 18 to buy alcohol, but you can have 1 glass aged 16 if you are with your parents in a restaurant, and it is legal to give your child, provided they are over the age of 5, a small amount of alcohol at a private residence.
Do you mean the age limit to buy alcohol or to drink it?

What is the cheapest way to do wedding invitations? Can I do them at home on my PC? Is there free software I can download from the Internet?
Yep, I designed mine myself on my PC and had the print room at my local college print them for me. The whole thing was cheap because my dad worked at the college. If you know someone who has a print room at work or at school/college then you could ask them to use their staff/student discount.

I might be having 3 bridesmaids, 2 are very small women and the third is plus size. Will I still be able to get them matching dresses?
You can if you pick a style that will suit everyone. One popular way around this problem is to pick a colour and then let them choose their own style of dress.
Or, you could give the third bridesmaid a wrap or shrug in the same colour as the dress if she feels self-concious in short sleeves or straps.

Contraceptive pills start working straight away, providing you start taking it on the first day of your cycle (one week after your period starts) and don't miss any. If you vomit or have diarrhea, or are taking anti biotics, this can stop it from working. Otherwise, you shouldn't get pregnant.

At what age do male fish get tubercles?
Hi Hannah
The age of sexual maturity depends on what sort of fish they are. Goldfish will reach sexual maturity in about 1-3 years, depending on how well you take care of them, so you should see the breeding tubercles after that (the fish you get in the store will be about 6 months- 1 year old already)
You little fish could be having a go at your other fish for a number of reasons...

Since most pot smokers get the 'munchies' and end up eating large amounts of pizza/nachos/whatever, I would have to say no. If you want to lose weight, diet and exercise are a much better option.

One of my painted tetras has lost all of its color. Why did it do that and how do I get the color back?
Most of these so called 'painted' tetras are actually black widow tetras (Gymnocorymbus ternetziare) and are not naturally brightly coloured fish. They are injected with dye to make them more appealing. Unfortunately, this is massively painful to the fish and can cause disease and early death. This practice is thankfully going to become illegal in the UK fairly soon, not sure about the US...

How long is a fish's memory?
Different fish have different memory spans but the 'fact' that fish have a 2/3 second memory is a myth. This link explains just one study that has shown fish to be smarter than first thought- http://calvin.st-andrews.ac.uk/external_relations/news_article.cfm?reference=534

Which antidepressants work the best and give energy? Prozac is not an option for my friend.
Different people get along with different drugs. I found that citalopram worked for me but my friend got terrible side effects from it. The best thing to do is tell your friend to be honest with their doc and tell him/her if the drug is not working for them. They may have to try a few to find the right one, or they may find it right away. Good luck!

My 45 yr. old successful spouse thinks there is nothing wrong with him checking out young girls, in the car, restaurant& sometimes flirts & denies he does it. I feel selfconfident but his behavior feels disrespectful, am I wrong, what should I do?
You're not wrong, you can't help the way you feel. Some people aren't bothered by flirting, others are. If you have told him how you feel about his behaviour and he still does it, that would concern me more than the flirting.
I think you need to discuss this with him in some detail and make sure he really knows how his behaviour make you feel. If it helps, you could write down what you want...

What kinds of fish eat tadpoles?
In a fish pond? All of them! Pond fish- goldfish, koi, orfe, etc- are omnivores and opportunist feeders. They will try to eat anything they can fit in their mouths. However, if the fish are very young, they may be too small to eat the tadpoles.

How effective are those "lose 10 lbs in 3 days if you eat exactly what we say" diets?
I don't know about effective, but they are not that healthy. If you want to lose weight it is better to consult your GP or a nutritionist, or go on an approved program like Weightwatchers. Losing weight quickly is not healthy, unless you are at a weight that may threaten your health, but you should check this with your doctor.
These 'lose weight quickly' plans often don't include enough food...

It could be a number of things. You may have a stomach ulcer or some other kind of dietary problem (excess acid production etc), this would cause your body to reject alcohol.
Or it could just be your age, we are more able to deal with large amounts of alcohol at a younger age in my experience!

My boyfriend is 30 and I am 21 and he moves really fast. He is already talking about marriage, and our lives together and I don't know what to say. I tell him I need to go slow and sometimes I feel he wants the image of wife and kids, not me. Advice?
If he's going too fast, you should tell him that you want to take it easy. Age gap relationships can work well (there are 12 years between me and my husband) as long as you both want the same things at the same time.
As long as you tell him kindly and don't yell, it should be OK.

I am able to gain and lose 5 lbs. a day. Is this dangerous?
If you are losing 5lbs in a day, it is probably through loss of liquid. If you do a long work-out session, for example, you will lose weight in sweat. Make sure you are drinking 2 litres of water a day, more if you are working out a lot.
If you are dieting, you should always try to weigh yourself at the same time every day to ensure an accurate idea of how much weight you are losing.

How come most singers always sound good on CD but sound different when performing live?
Because on CD they get almost an unlimited amount of chances to get it right, live they only get one chance. Also there are many effects that can be used in a studio to make someone's voice sound better. Auto-tuners are used a lot to make people in tune, vocals are double-tracked to make them sound richer, etc. Most of these effects are not possible to use live.

I have a friend who has been doing cocaine for about 10 years and now her nasal septum is damaged. Can she fix it?
I think it's possible to get reconstructive surgery but most surgeons will probably insist that your friend stops doing coke first. This happened to an actress called Daniella Westbrook in the UK and she had surgery to repair it.

My 19 year old son has a job, but only works max of 4-5 hours a day. I want him to strive for more, but all he wants to do is party, he drinks all night and sleeps all day. What to do? Please don't say just kick him out.
That's teenagers for you! You could ask him to contribute towards household costs like food, bills etc. That would give him a reason to work more hours. I think you'll have to be pretty strict with him on this one.

I have a lot of pregnancy symptoms like larger breasts, dizziness and nausea, but I just got my period. Could it be implantation (or whatever its called) bleeding?
If your period seems like it normally does then it is probably just a period. Implantation bleeding is usually a lot lighter and only last a couple of days.
The symptoms you describe could just be PMS. You could always do a test if you are worried.

Well I haven't read enough on this subject yet to make my mind up, but you are not alone in this thought. There have been a few theories along this line recently. Here is just one page I found http://www.rense.com/general58/biot.htm, if you do a search you will find a LOT more.

I am depressed and it is affecting every relationship I have. I am a single mom and don't have the money for a doctor or medications. Any "natural" recommendations?
Exersise can really help, when you exercise your brain releases serotonin. Here's a link for you that explains it better than I can! http://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/bhcv2/bhcArticles.nsf/pages/Depression_and_exercise?OpenDocument
Also you could join an internet forum so you can talk to people that also have depression, it really helps when you realise that you're not alone.

I always tip at least 15% because I've been a waitress and I know how much it sucks!! The only time I don't leave a tip is if the service was REALLY bad like if the server was rude or something.

My scalp gets very greasy 2 days after washing, but the rest of the hair turns very dry. How can I get rid of the greasy scalp?
Firstly you should stop using head & shoulders because it is actually very bad for your skin! My hairdresser told me never ever to use it. If you have a dandruff problem you can get proper medicated shampoo from a chemist/drug store, that should help with your skin problem.

What is the origin of the word "politics"?
'Poly' meaning many and 'ticks' meaning blood-sucking parasites.
Nah, just kidding. 'Polis' is from the Greek meaning city or state, 'politikos' describes things concerning state or city affairs. In Latin, this was 'politicus' and in French 'politique'. Thus it became 'politics' in the English language.

what is the best way to pick up a chic
I guess the best way to 'pick up a chick' is firstly to not refer to women as chicks. Secondly, try to find some common ground so you've got something to talk about, ie movies, music, trivial stuff like that. If you get along well you could ask her to dinner or drinks or whatever. Remember to be polite and respectful but be yourself as well. Good luck!

No, it's not legal but it has been decriminalised. It is now a class C drug, along with certain prescription drugs (if you don't have a prescription)

My neighbor said her dad got these bugs that he put in his yard and he has no flies at all. Does anyone know what it was that her dad got? She said he ordered them online.
Some bugs are predatory towards other insects. I think what your neighbour may have been talking about is ladybugs (lady birds in the UK). They eat greenfly and other aphids that attack plants (commonly roses) and it is pretty common in the UK to order a box to bump up the naturally occuring numbers.

Wait til the oil heats up a little, then put it on your hair and wrap up your head in clingfilm/ceran wrap (NOT your face!!! lol) and wait 5 mins. Then rinse and shampoo again and condition.

Other coldwater aquarium fish are:
White cloud mountain minnows- don't keep these with goldfish though, they'll end up as lunch!

Answer to:
Why do goldfish so often swim up and down against the front glass of an aquarium? Do they see their own reflections or are they trying to get out?
You may notice they do it more when you are in the room- it's because they can see you and they know that they might get fed! Fish have pretty good eyesight and they soon learn to associate humans and food (my baby goldfish learnt that at 12 days old!) so they are saying 'feed me!!'
Answer to:
Is there anything wrong with using plastic or silk plants if they're made for an aquarium (and don't have sharp edges)?
No, silk plants are sometimes better than real ones if you have plant-eaters or diggers (like goldfish or some cichlids) because the real ones would just get shredded and pollute the aquarium.
Silk ones need replacing more often but I think they look better than the plastic ones.
If you've got fish with long fins (fancy goldfish, bettas etc) watch their tails on the plastic plants.

Yes she's being unrealistic! I would be worried if my husband didn't find other women attractive at some point. It is not normal to only look at one person ever. Try not to mention it a lot though, it will just upset her more. She is obviously very insecure, maybe something has happened in her past to make her feel like this.

What is the best thing to use for cleaning your fish aquarium?
If there are fish in there you shouldn't use any cleaning products because they may be toxic to the fish.
If you are cleaning out an empty aquarium you can use a weak bleach solution (1 part bleach, 10 parts water) or the stuff you use to sterilise baby bottles. Make sure you rinse it very thoroughly though.

Why is one of my goldfish always trying to jump out of the water and swim around the bowl really fast? I have only had them for 3 days.
You should test the water for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. Chances are the water contains something that is irritating your fish.
Bowls are not suitable homes at all for goldfish so that is not helping the situation. Have a read of this, it will help you out. http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/pfk/pages/show_article.php?article_id=418

Answer to:
why are my goldfish staying at the top of the bowl like they need air? and how often should i change the water on my 1 gallon bowl with four gold fish inside?
It might be the hot weather, warmer water can't hold as much oxygen as cooler water. It doesn't help that you have 4 fish in 1 gallon when goldfish require 10 gallons per fish (yes, 10 gallons)
Try to keep it cool, and get an airstone to help with oxygenating but unless you get a much bigger tank your fish will not live too long.

The best thing to do is if he/she starts biting you, stop all physical contact and ignore them for a while. They will soon learn that biting is not acceptable. Also praise him/her when they play without biting and give them a treat.

My sister's fishbowl was knocked over and her goldfish was lying in some dust for an unknown time. I found him and put him back in his bowl, but he is covered in dust and not moving very much. What should I do?
The dust is probably stuck on his mucus. If there is a way to create a flow of water (with a filter or powerhead) this will help him clear the dust off. Otherwise you could hold him gently in a wet towel inside the bowl and GENTLY rub him with a wet Q tip, but if you've never handled fish before I wouldn't recommend this (never handle fish with dry hands or jewelery on)

No, never use tap water in an aquarium! It contains chlorine which will kill all the good bacteria that live in your filter and make your fish really sick.

I agree, losing weight is possibly the only thing you can do without resorting to surgery. If you are concerned about the appearance of your breasts, you can get minimiser bras and dress in a certain way to make them look more in proportion.
If you live in the UK, you may be able to get a breast reduction on the NHS if you do want to have surgery.
If you don't want to have surgery, just make...

I have a 30 gal freshwater tank with two goldfish. I use an undergravel filter and have low kH, gH, and pH in both tank and from well tap, and my eldest goldie has swim bladder diseease. What can I do?
Fancy goldfish often suffer from swimbladder problems, this is caused by the shape of their bodies which causes their organs to be more compressed. I feed my fancy goldfish a diet that is very high in vegetables and that seems to help. Most goldfish foods don't have enough veg in them for fancy goldfish.

How often do guitars need to be re-strung?
If you're touring you should put a new set of strings on every night before you play. It depends how often you play really. Once the strings start to lose their 'bright' tone, it's time to change.

How can people with schizophrenia hear voices in their heads, and is being around a person suffering from this dangerous?
I don't know the science behind it, but I can tell you that I have had 3 friends that are/were schizophrenic. 1 of them sadly killed himself a few years ago but the other 2 are leading normal lives and are no danger to anyone. I wouldn't even know they were schizophrenic if they hadn't told me.
It can be dangerous if it is not treated properly but the drugs available to treat it are really...

Why do the British drive on the right side and many other nationalities including Americans drive on the left side of the road? How did these two different systems develop?
I'm not sure if this is totally historically accurate but I will tell you what I read in a newspaper once. The reason for countries driving on different sides of the road is Napolean. In Roman times, people would drive their chariots on the left hand side of the road so that if they met an enemy coming the other way, they would have their sword hand (right hand) ready. All European countries...

They are probably just blocked sebaceous glands (happens to practically every guy, especially around teens/early 20s) but you should get them checked out just in case, you wouldn't want to pass anything on to your girlfriend.

I had sex and the condom broke. We didn't know that it broke till we were done. What are the chances that I'm pregnant?
The chances of getting pregnant are around 1 in 4-5 if you have unprotected sex while you are ovulating and you are both fertile. Calculating the chances that an individual is pregnant is impossible without knowing your and your boyfriend's fertility history, having a medical degree and being psychic.
I would wait, see if your period is late and then get a pregnancy test if necessary.

Is the urban legend about Richard Gere and his fondness for gerbils really true?
I heard that the gerbil myth came about because Richard Gere had a mole (the kind you get on your skin, not the little furry animal) removed from his butt, this story then became kind of a chinese whispers and eventually the 'mole' became a gerbil.

The Bible says Gabriel (Angel) was sent to Mary in June, nevertheless we still celebrate the birth of Jesus in December. Can one bear a baby after 6 months of pregnancy?
Christmas was originally scheduled in December to coincide with the Pagan festival of Yule or Saturnalia. This was so the Pagans could keep on partying, but worship the 'right' god.

What would be some reasons for wanting to legalize marijuana?
Cannabis was decriminalised in the UK because too much police time was spent busting 16 year olds for smoking a joint when they could have been catching proper criminals.
I'm surprised it hasn't been totally legalised here, the government loves to come up with new ways to tax people.

Well if you are not happy, you should talk to him and tell him that his possessiveness is causing problems. Try to work things through first, but if nothing changes and you are still unhappy you should end the relationship.
Answer to:
Is it possible to kill an abortionist and be a real Christian?
No, definitely not. It clearly states in the Bible 'Thou shalt not kill'. Although the Bible also tells us to stone people to death for a multitude of sins including adultery and theft, the 10 commandments pretty much outweigh that in my opinion.
If it said 'Thou shalt not kill unless they are an abortion doctor' you'd be in the clear, but it doesn't.

A dance studio contracted with a vendor to video my child's recital and sell copies for a profit. They say I can't videotape my child, but I never signed a release allowing them to use images of my daughter. What's the law here?
I work with children in the UK and we are not allowed to take pictures of the children without their parents written consent. At school plays and that sort of thing, anyone wishing to film the performance needs permission from the school even if they are parents and the film is for their private use.
I would speak to the owner of the dance school about this as really they shouldn't be filming...

The water in my tank is cleaned once a week, but the water turns from crystal clear to a brownish colour. I do not have any real plants in the tank and have the filtration on all the time. What could be wrong?
It sounds like it could be an algae bloom. Check the nitrate level of the water. Low light levels can contribute to brown algae, around 8-10 hours of light per day is about right. You can also get 'moss balls' which are really balls of algae to put in your tank. This should help prevent algae in the water and on the glass but your cichlids might shred them, depending on what sort they are.

That's a very old-fashioned attitude- how do you know the man didn't feel vunerable afterwards? You could have phoned him.

I may have ripped my goldfish's tail off while I was removing gravel from his tank! Can he go on to live a full life without his tail?
It'll grow back, although it will take a while. You might want to add some anti-bacterial medication to the water to make sure it doesn't get infected and test the water to make sure it stays in good condition.

My goldfish's tail is bent towards the surface. It looks like a V between his top fin and his tail fin. Also his bottom fin is getting smaller and smaller. His bottom fin started as a nick and then each day has been getting worse. What's wrong?
If he shows any signs of disease ie fungus, visible parasites, lethargy, gasping for breath or scratching (flashing) I would do some research and find out what is wrong and then treat it ASAP.
If he is a young fish, my first thought would be it is just a deformity. If he can swim and feed OK then leave him but if he is struggling it might be better to put him down (NOT in the freezer!!!)

Not all Christians believe that, in fact quite a small number do in my experience. My mum is a fairly strict Christian that believes you go to Heaven if you're a good person. I consider myself to be Christian but I don't believe in Hell at all, neither does my dad who is also Christian.
I had this argument with someone recently who passionately believed that anyone who did not believe in Jesus...

i have very small boobs, is there anyway of increasing them without plastic surgery and breast enlargement pills that you find on the internet?
Some medications will make them grow. Mine grew when I went on the contraceptive pill and some stomach medication (it was for excess acid but I don't remember what it was called) but you should talk to your doctor about that really.
There are various tricks you can use to make them appear bigger, like padded bras and halter tops.

How are crop circles created?
Most of the crop circles in Englad are created by a 'secret group' who can apparently be seen in the local pubs with a laptop, discussing their latest designs. However, there are a couple of circles every year that they deny making so who knows about those?
If you want to see some circles, head to Wiltshire in England. 'Crop circle season' runs from late May to July. Happy hunting!

Or you could send the same pack to some management companies. Once you get a manager, they will do all the networking for you and...
