In order to survive you must eat insects. Would you?
That's kind of funny. Most Americans eat several pounds of bugs per year but don't realize it. Every salad you've ever eaten, and every piece of bread has bugs in it. Most natural products contain some bugs. Sometimes it's only bug eggs, other times it's whole ground bugs. The FDA produces guidelines about allowable "natural contaminants." The allowable guideline for apple butter for instance...

If someone hears voices and sees things that aren't there, does it make them insane?
Everyone sees and hears things that aren't there, but usually only in a sleeping dream state. When people are extremely sleep deprived, dream state may start before the person is asleep and they will see and hear things that aren't there. Psychotic breaks are thought to be similar, where normal barriers between wakeful and sleeping states break down.

Many dieticians say that cutting out too much fat from your diet causes cravings, resulting in people abandoning their diets. Better to have a smaller meal with a small serving of something rich than to just eat salad, but then crave nachos all night.

Is Necrophila considered raped? If not, then why is it a crime?
One good reason for it to be illegal is for the prevention of disease. Dead bodies are often dead because of a contagious disease which they can transmit after death. Among the most deadly and easily transmissible of these is Ebola, and rituals involving contact with dead bodies (presumably non-sexual) is one of the primary vectors of the disease, according to the World Health Organization....

Should rape and child sexual abuse offenders get life in prison?
It's important to remember that the "justice system" is far from perfect. One of the young men convicted of "child sexual abuse"/statutory rape was Genarlow Wilson. When he was 17 year old, a 15 year old girl performed a sexual act on him, consensually. Although they were BOTH minors, most states will arrest a young man in that situation, calling it statutory rape, but not the young woman....

How many miles can you drive on a spare tire?
On the majority of cars, including all old cars, trucks, and many new cars, the spare tire is identical to the other tires and is rotated among them, so 60,000 miles was a reasonable estimate. Many new cars do not come with a spare at all, and instead are equipped with run-flat tires and pressure sensors. Have a good look at the Jeep spare. That's no wimpy compact spare.

Does anybody know what the long term side effects of regular use of coritsone in children might be?
ACK! All kinds of problems, since cortisone is an artificial hormone/steriod. It can cause sexual side effects including facial hair on girls and breast growth in boys. Weight gain, bone thinning, diabetes, acne, cataracts, and immune system damage are among the many possible side effects. I would advise avoiding it completely in children unless there's a life-endangering condition...

I'm 18 and have baby canine teeth, when I bite my teeth look out of position but it feels comfortable, but sometimes when I bite it feels uncomfortable and my front teeth seem too far down, what should I do about it?
As others have mentioned, your dentist or orthodontist should be consulted, but I can tell you the experience of the two people I know who have had similar issues. One never got any adult teeth in the front; that happens sometimes. This is part of the reason why it's very important to take good care of baby teeth, because they might be all you get. Sometimes when baby canines remain at...

What is more harmful for health coke or beer?
Drinking beer to excess would of course be a big problem and an immediate danger, but if you are only talking about one can per day, with the Coke you will have the equivalent of 10 extra teaspoons of sugar per day in your diet. The carbonic acid in Coke will cause loss of calcium in your teeth and bones.
The beer on the other hand has more complex carbos, and the small amount of alcohol is...

They don't care about the questions. They care about how you respond, whether you're nervous, whether or not your eyes dart around while you answer, and whether or not you have an accent. They'd probably ask questions about your mother's underwear if they thought they could get away with it.

If it's possible for you, many people benefit by biking places that they had been driving or taking a bus. Since you don't have much time, it can be a good solution since in many cases you're substituting a 15 minute bus ride with a 20 minute bike ride, and get a good workout with only 5 minutes out of your schedule.

You can potentially fix it, but it would be expensive and risky since it would involve an engine tear-down and polishing the cylinders, etc. But try this simple thing next time to avoid the diesling: Keep the car in drive when you stop, and turn off the key WITHOUT shifting into park. That should stop the engine and there should be no dieseling. NOW shift to park and take your key.

I think everyone should be tasered. Tasers built into the seats in waiting rooms, Tasers for school discipline, Tasering could replace hand-shaking as a corporate greeting. Ok, I'm not completely serious, but the point is, if you have a new toy on your belt, you're going to want to try it out now and then. There needs to be a disincentive to the use of a taser for anyone who uses...

Yes, caffeine is a drug. So is aspirin. Why should you assume all drugs should be illegal? Drugs have never been the larger problem; the larger problems have been politics, taxation, crime, trade with other countries, religion, and fear, by politicians, of not getting re-elected. Prior to anti-drug laws, you'll find very few drug-related deaths or injuries, and the USA did not turn...

First off, viruses aren't technically alive. They can replicate only by "hijacking" the reproductive ability of cells that they invade. We don't speak of "killing" viruses either, we call it "deactivating" them.
Second, Viruses and bacteria are not in need of male-female mating to introduce new characteristics partly because their reproductive systems...

Herpes is pretty tricky. Herpes simplex can lay dormant in one's body for weeks, months, or many years. But basically once you have it, you have it. You can get herpes from kissing someone who has it; once you have it, you can transmit it, to mouths, genitals, etc, that you come in contact with. Some people might have one cold sore when they're 15, and never have a symptom again,...

Ta, Matthew
If they're actual honeybees (not merely wasps), then it's good to look for ways to move them. A good bee/wasp removal service can do this for you; if you want to do it yourself, read up on it. With the right clothing and preferably with smoke, they're relatively easy to handle. Moving a hive usually involves opening the hive and finding the queen; the others will follow on...

Pain like being love-sick? or pain like maybe a heart attack? Young people aren't immune from heart problems so if you think it might actually be that, see a doctor. Indigestion can also produce pains like that. If it's just love-sickness, trust that it's mostly hormones, and this too will pass, it sounds weird, but try to enjoy it, some day you'll miss these days.

Technically viruses don't live. Without a host they're more like minerals than animals, and they can even be crystallized! The shelf life depends on whether or not they are exposed to things that would break down their structure, like sun, chemicals, radioactivity. Protected from these, they can potentially remain active for thousands or even millions of years.

It was later re-cut for re-release and was changed to an R-rating in 1971, and an a heavily edited version was even shown on television....

Everything, and nothing. (undefined)
The answer could be described as the set of every real number. Take any number: 1,323,231,544 Multiply by the bottom number (0) and you get the top number (0), so every possible real number is a possible answer, that's why it's undefined.

What does “living off of the grid” require?
It depends on what you're willing to live without. If you're ok without electric power, you don't need much. You probably want a source of heat and light, but that's pretty simple with a wood stove and a tallow or wax candle. Many millions live without refrigeration. In the summer, you eat vegetables fresh out of the ground, and you slaughter only small animals that you...

You use it in business all the time, and construction... Try figuring out how long it will take for a 30' square slab of concrete 8" thick will take to harden in 45 degree temperatures with a 30% relative humidity without algebra. Why is incest illegal?
It is illegal because a parent/guardian has a privileged/powerful relationship with their own children. If it were legal, a parent could say "he/she consented, so it's cool" but in fact the child may have been denied food/clothing/affection to force them into cooperation. For the same reason, relations are prohibited between prison guards and inmates.

In some circumstances, pretty much in every country. Your window is almost certainly single-pane with no storm window. Moisture condenses on it because it's cold relative to your room. How long after expiration date is ham good if frozen
Ham, if well sealed, is good in the freezer for years. The primary problem is air, which will cause freezer burn, which dried out areas on the ham. Vacuum packaging is the most effective at preventing this, followed by multiple layers of foil and plastic zip-locks with air evacuated.

How long past expiration date is sun screen good for , what chemicals break down , why and what is the harm of using old products if any?
The primary problem with old sunscreen is not a loss of effectiveness nor any kind of danger, but rather just a separation of the base. Instead of coming out as a nice creamy lotion, you may get a clear liquid followed by a thick white paste.

Does God suffer (from a traditional Christian point of view)? (This is for school).
Yes, according to the book of Genesis,
"The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the LORD was sorry that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart." Grieving to the heart is certainly suffering. But whether that justifies God's killing almost every...

Should the United Kingdom celebrate Thanksgiving?
Why should anyone celebrate Thanksgiving? I never bought the lie about how the Pilgrims brought benevolent white people to the USA to be buddies with the Native Americans... Instead, they killed them and pushed them onto reservations. Nonetheless, I enjoy celebrating a good harvest, and having a harvest dinner, and that type of celebration I would gladly share with my British Brethren.

How do you know if mineral water actually has minerals in it and not tap water?
You can't tell if it's based on tap water unless you investigate the factory that bottled it. If it tastes salty, it has at least the mineral sodium chloride (table salt) in it. If you boil the water until dry and find no residue, it is not mineral water, which should contain 250 parts per million minerals, according to the FDA, and these are supposed to be naturally occurring.

My microwave started making a loud noise, and it looked liked there was something flashing inside. When it stopped there was a strong smell coming from it. Should I continue to use it?
The most likely cause is that you had something metallic in there. If you are pretty sure you did not, you should test your microwave before deciding to keep it or get rid of it. Place a glass of water in it and turn it on for one minute. If it arcs again, it's time to get rid of it. If it heats up normally, you're fine.

You probably don't need the heat lamp! If the coop is reasonably free of drafts the chickens should be fine in there without it. Of course you won't have any chickens hatching unless you have a rooster. If you do, your brood hen is already doing her part, so yes you should have some chicks soon whenever they're ready.

For Black Friday shopping, you might want to stop at the "Prime Outlets" mall in Grove City, which you'll be passing by. It's about an hour north of the city. Some of the great things to see in and around Pittsburgh:
-Frank Lloyd Wright's "Fallingwater" house
-Ride the incline up...

If there was a free sterization clinic, would it be a fair deal to offer each person who agrees to be sterilized two hundred lottery scratch-off tickets?
I'm not sure it's a good idea to entice them to gamble away their fertility... but I think a modest gift when people get sterilized would be a nice gesture.

What is the best kind of birth control. i dont want any shots or rings or anything put inside of me. I want pills. what is the best brand. and if the guy accidently cums in me while im on birth control how great is the risk of pregnancy?
You need to see a doctor to get a prescription for pills, and he/she will choose one based on your age, health, weight, etc. The doctor will likely recommend a low dose pill if you're young, and if not, the doctor should explain why. Pills will NOT protect you from diseases though, so you should consider using condoms as well. Chance of pregnancy while on the pill is almost zero, and...

We just got high speed, (i know, caveman...), and my parents are really worried about how much a tole streaming music will take on our 4 gig download limit. If i were to start streaming music, how long would it take before we reached 4 gig?
(expanded answer) MP3s are mostly in the 3 to 5MB range, so if you figure 4MB average, that would be about 1000 songs. Streaming can use more or less than that. If you're watching music videos streamed from Youtube, it might only be 150 or so, whereas at the other extreme, a poor-fidelity internet radio station might be 1500 songs within that 4GB. With luck your parents will opt for a...

Anyone been on a Carnival Cruise? Is it one big drunk-fest like I've heard?
Not for most people it isn't. Both on Carnival Cruises and all-inclusive resorts in places like Cancun, there are always a few guys (usually about ten at any time) who spend all their time at the bar. How sad for them! Everyone else was out scuba diving, sailing, paragliding and all sorts of other fun things, while these guys spent each day making asses of themselves. They could have...

It depends on whether you're more concerned with "biological taxonomy" or "gastronomic taxonomy." Gastronomic taxonomy is grouping and classifying according to cooking and eating purposes, and by this measure it is a nut, and you...

Yes, but it's not easy or automatic. One of the most basic requirements of any landlord is providing safety to his/her tenants. You need some help, you sound depressed. That's pretty normal after an abortion. People really should feel something after killing their fetal child. But now it's time to pick up the pieces. Your university should have student counselors. Make an appointment and talk to them; tell them what you're going through. Getting psychological help might allow you to complete this...

Not unless you were also the lifeguard of the pool and you were on duty. Olympic swimmers know how to swim, but unless they have taken a lifesaving or water safety instructor's course, they wouldn't know what to do anyway. An incompetent person attempting a rescue endangers him/herself AND the person he/she is trying to rescue.
