I have no idea how to clean it, but i just wanted to say that i am soooo relieved that you have identified is as solder flux - the thought of other bits of brown residue in the whirlpool are too gross to think about!

if you look at the etymology of the word, you will find that it means discernment - an ability to decide from a range of opinions. Are these people who use secondary, tertiary etc sources, merely demonstrating a degree of discernment? or are they just plagiarists? or lazy? But what concerns me...
