When I was about 5 or 6, I was bouncing a ball in my room, and I got brave and bounced it really high, shattered the light fixture and cut open the side of my wrist. It's not very noticable now, but I like having it as a reminder to always be aware of your surroundings.

I personally like memories. And taking pictures is one of the best ways to capture them. So I would say no. Though you should probably do like Travis said and save them to separate discs and store them.
