Do you need to wear eye glasses to drive?
I wear lenses to drive and could not see well enough without them. My daughter has just started driving and wearing glasses. She is required to wear glasses full time anyway whether she is driving or not.
Answer to:
On a weekend do you wear your glasses or your contact lenses what are your reasons for your choice?
I use my lenses whether it is the weekend or not. My wife uses glasses for reading.
My daughter wears her glasses. She wants to get lenses, but the doctor wants her to be full time in glasses until her symptoms of lazy eye go away. I think she sometimes takes them off on weekend when she hangs out with her friends, but she is not supposed to.

Answer to:
When did you first start wearing glasses, do you have to wear them all the time? How did you feel about it at the time
I was not told to wear them full time, but my 16-year old daughter was. She was very upset about it. She has had them for about six months now and is only just beginning to accept the fact that she has to keep them on all the time. She was really miserable about it at first.
Answer to:
When you started wearing glasses were you told to wear them all the time?
I think very few people are told to wear glasses full time. I think children and teenagers are advised to. My daughter was recently diagnosed with myopia (near sightedness) and the doctor said she should be in glasses all the time. The reason was more to do with a slight lazy eye than the myopia.
| 1 person likes this
Answer to:
What eyesight problems do you have if you are myopic?
You have trouble seeing at a distance, but you see things close up well. Myopic people are called short-sighted in British English and near-sighted in American English.
If you want to see what it is like to be myopic, look through a magnifying glass. Close up things are very clear but things in the distance are blurred.

Answer to:

No, it is not ungrammatical although as others have pointed out, it is neither concise nor elegant.

Bottom line, all stories can be copyrighted but that covers only the words you used to write about it -- not the event itself.

I think it is you. I think part of her position is ironic. It combines humor with a political position. She isn't racist, but she is laughing at a group of people that she disagrees with and believes to be racist. That does not make her racist, though.

What age do you think is suitable(for a child) to get contact lenses, after wearing glasses for a year? Just wondering....
Any age if they are responsible enough to care for them.
My daughter (16) got glasses, but the doctor told her wait at least six months before getting her fist contacts -- but I think that is because he wants to treat a mild case of lazy eye before she gets her contacts.

There is pretty much no evidence that glasses make your eyes better or worse.

When you first got glasses were you perscribed to wear them all the time? Were you too embarissed to do so or were you good and followed the intructions form your optician?
When I got my first glasses, the doctor was pretty vague about when I needed to wear them, but my teachers and parents made me wear them. I was fine with it.
My dauhter recently got glasses. She was told to wear them during every waking moment, and she does not comply!
Answer to:
Did you ever think your eye sight was fine until the optician told you otherwise and told you that you needed to wear glasses?
I think that was what happened to my daughter. She thought her eyes were OK until she failed a vison screening. When we took her to get her eyes checked, she was told she was significantly near sighted and should wear glasses from when she ets up until she goes to bed.
Answer to:

Were your eye glasses weak when you were first perscribed eye glasses? Have your eyes changed a lot in the time you have been wearing glasses?

I wear my contacts all the time.

We did get a second pair so that she can continue to wear them if she breaks them.

My mates daughter has a problem with her left eye it keeps like squinting and like a nervous blink weird she was called to her school about this and advised to take her to the doctor and the opticians. what could this be could she need glasses?

Answer to:
If an optition says that your glasses are for 'general wear', are they being purposefully ambigous, meaning: you can wear them for different tasks; or, is 'general wear' just a nice way of telling you to wear them all the time?
It means that you can wear them for both distance and close up work, but does not necessarily mean that there is a reason for you to wear them all the time.
My daughter recently got glasses and the optician recommended full time wear. She decided that this meant "while she was at school" so we went back for clarification. In this case the doctor said that she had minor problems...

Why does it seem that my vision gets worse without my glasses, the more I wear glasses? What should I do to have my vision corrected on its own?
Glasses are not intended to make your vision better. They simply correct refractive errors.

Vision tends to stabilize in early adulthood until you notice presbyopia, the inability to focus on close objects. Presbyopia usually begins when you are about 40, and almost everybody eventually...

For a job interview what is the best answer to "what is the most difficult situation you have faced?" I have not had a difficult situation at work, so should I say that?
You can draw from your personal life, but you should definitely tell a story. Interviewers are trained to figure out what your behavior might be in a variety of situations. If you do not give an account (with a story) of your behavior, the interviewer may get frustrated and hire someone else. You need to be truthful, but don't say that you have never had a difficult situation.

Answer to:
Does or can anyone with 20/20 vision or better wear reading glasses
20/20 is a measure of distance vision. Basically, it means that you can see at 20 yards (feet or meters) what a "normal" person sees at that distance.
Reading glasses are for close up work. So many people have 20/20 vision for distance, but, after about the age of 40, almost everyone needs reading glasses to cope with close up activities.

Wear what you usually wear to see well whether you use contacts or glasses. (Don't go to the interview without glasses or contacts if that means you need to squint to see something.) Dress professionally and conservatively. And remember that almost all employers will Google you -- so make sure there are no "unprofessional" revelations that can be found on the Internet.

If you wear glasses do you like wearing them or do you think they are so annoying things to wear?
My daughter recently got glasses and was told to wear them all the time. At first, she was really resistant. She finds them really annoying and says she hates having to wear them. So we made a deal with her. If she complies with her instructions to wear them full time, we will take her to get contacts after six months. But we told her to get used to wearing glasses first.

I would follow a doctor's instructions rather than mine or anyone else's.
However, in my opinion, someone with that prescription should probably be in glasses pretty much all the time except for sports, swimming, and so on. He will definitely be able to see the television a lot better if he wears his glasses.
What did the doctor advise when prescribing.
Answer to:
I started wearing glasses a week ago.my prescription was-1.25-0.5*180.i have myopia and i get a headache everytime i wear them.is this normal?
It is normal for the first day or two. If it continues beyond that, you should go back to have your glasses adjusted.
It is also a good idea to wear them constantly for at least the first few weeks to give your eyes a chance to adapt to them.

This year we bought our daughter her first glasses in December, but that was because of need rather than a funding issue.

I use a Netgear product to send the signal across the internal power lines in the house. It works reasonably well. Then you plug in another device into an electrical outlet in another part of the house, and that puts out a Wi-Fi...

Do you think it's ever okay not to tip a waiter/waitress if money is tight?
No. If money is tight, you should not eat out.
There are other legitimate reasons not to leave a tip. For example, in certain countries, waiters get paid a decent wage and do not expect tips unless service is truly exceptional. In the United States, waiters generally cannot live on their wages alone so I would leave some kind of tip unless service was truly outrageous.

Why is it some people with low prescriptions for nearsightedness can go without glasses and others can't bear to be without them ever. I mean in the -2 to -3 range.
Some people worry about old stereotypes about glasses being unattractive. So they resist wearing them because they prioritize looking their best over seeing their best.

Probably most people who need a prescription over -1 are better off...

What will be the cost of airline tickets to san diego to miami?
Asking the price of an airline ticket on AB is not very productive. It all depends -- when you want to go, the interval between booking and departure, the class of service are the most important factors.
If you are looking for the cheapest seat, try one of the sites that compares the fares that are being charged. Sidestep and Kayak are examples.

Why do people wear glasses with NO perscription lenses in them? Are you one of those people, what are your thoughts on this please?
Some people need to wear glasses to protect their eyes from damaging UV rays.

I wear contacts (-3/-2.25). I'm shy to wear glasses so often go without when I can't wear contacts even though I can't see so well. Would you do the same or am I being stupid? Were you ever too shy to wear your glasses?
Your prescription means that you need to wear contacts or glasses all the time. The only way to get over being too shy to wear glasses is to actually do it. Make a resolution to wear them for a few weeks, and, quite soon, you will get used to being seen with them and wonder what you were shy about.
Answer to:
I have astigmatisms and have glasses but don't wear them really anymore. Should i start wearing them if i started getting headaches at the end of the day? I was getting headache before and that is how i found out that i had astigmatisms.
People with astigmatism should wear glasses full time to avoid headaches, but talk to your eye doctor and follow the advice that you are given.
Answer to:
Can new glasses make your eyes sore even after over four weeks of wearing them? I have always had glasses but I can't seem to get used to these. My eyes get dry and tired from wearing them although I can see clearly through them.
If you feel sore are four weeks of constant wear, you should probably go back for an adjustment. Glasses are often uncomfortable for the first couple of weeks, but after four weeks things should settle down.
It is advisable to wear a new pair of (distance)glasses constantly and exclusively for the first few weeks just to make sure the prescription is OK. It sounds like yours is not.

The perception that food in the United Kingdom is awful is simply out of date. It certainly was true a generation or two ago when the country was stll emerging from rationing following World War II.
But in the last forty years, people have traveled and discovered interesting food, and this has had a huge effect on the food at home. Prosperity has also made a difference. You can get...

Answer to:
When do airplanes get rest?
The key to a profitable airline is to minimize the time that planes are not in the air. Southwest is legendary for recognizing that airplanes lose money on the ground. That is why they reduce turn-around time to almost nothing -- and they have been profitable in almost every quarter.

Obama is not a socialist. People who believe that he is a socialist either do not know what Obama thinks or do not know what socialism is.
Other people -- who are not socialists -- will throw the label around because they do not have rational arguments to oppose Obama, and they believe that this is an effective way to discredit him.
People who truly believe in putting the country first...

What is the main difference from 1st class and buisness class? (airplanes)
First class gives you better food, and often includes caviar. You also get ultra premium Champagne (Dom Perignon and Krug on Singapore Airlines). The lounge is also different with better food and drinks. Most airlines will give you a sleeper suit in First, and they turn down your bed for you.
Finally, the seats are larger and better with larger screens for your in flight entertainment.

No. I was going to vote for Obama anyway. So his choice was largely irrelevant to me. (I was pleased when he made the pick, though, because I thought it would decrease his chances of winning.)

What on earth are you talking abut?
Of course, you cannot do anything like that. Whether you are pro-choice or pro-life, the ethics of what you suggest are unspeakable!
The woman, and the woman alone, should have the right to determine the course of her own pregnancy. How dare you suggest that you can invade and over-ride that right?

The fact that Palin drew attention to that association (which was actually sponsored by a Republican)delights me. It definitively proves that Republicans are on the run, and they have nothing but scaremongering tactics left. They have no real policies, no ways of fixing the problems, and an attachment to the policies of the Bush regime.
Thankfully, it is too late. The American public have...
