I wear contacts (-3/-2.25). I'm shy to wear glasses so often go without when I can't wear contacts even though I can't see so well. Would you do the same or am I being stupid? Were you ever too shy to wear your glasses? Your prescription means that you need to wear contacts or glasses all the time. The only way to get over being too shy to wear glasses is to actually do it. Make a resolution to wear them for a few weeks, and, quite soon, you will get used to being seen with them and wonder what you were shy about.

Can new glasses make your eyes sore even after over four weeks of wearing them? I have always had glasses but I can't seem to get used to these. My eyes get dry and tired from wearing them although I can see clearly through them. If you feel sore are four weeks of constant wear, you should probably go back for an adjustment. Glasses are often uncomfortable for the first couple of weeks, but after four weeks things should settle down. It is advisable to wear a new pair of (distance)glasses constantly and exclusively for the first few weeks just to make sure the prescription is OK. It sounds like yours is not.
