Actually the sentence is correct, "is" shows that it continues to rain and "since yesterday" shows how long it has been raining. HOWEVER, this sort of sentence structure is not in common usage so would sound odd to the modern ear.

both. i love the traditional seasons of the Christian church, lent, advent, etc, and the symbolism, candles, kneeling in prayer and it's rituals, baptism, weddings, and communion. but it is my spirit that craves these tenets of my religion, and it is my spirit that is soothed by them.
