About me: There are many labels which accurately apply to me. Far too many to list, actually, but the labels which most reflect my personality and interests are: culinarian, atheist, bibliophile, gamer, student, humanitarian, and skeptic.

Culinarian: I absolutely adore food. The kitchen is my happy place.

Atheist: While I have never read any other religious texts, I have read the Bible in it's entirety, and I find it far too self-contradictory to be taken seriously. Also, while it may be taken metaphorically, the Bible contains a great many statements which can be shown to be absolutely false and, as such, cannot be accepted as a valid reflection of reality. To be sure, this does not mean that all religion is invalid, and it certainly does nothing to disprove the possible existence of deities, but it does, in my opinion, show that the Abrahamic religions are, at the very least, on the wrong track. That being said, it is more accurate to say that I am an atheist because I have never seen any evidence for supernatural beings. If anyone can show me any empirical evidence for an event which defies the natural laws of the universe, I will certainly be willing to re-evaluate my position. I am, after all, neither unreasonable nor so set in my opinions that they are not able to be changed in the light of new evidence.

Bibliophile: I love to read. When I was a boy, the internet was called a library, and I still love going to the library. I especially like old libraries. The sort which are constructed with well-worn wooden shelves, card catalogs, and have the smell of old paper.

Gamer: I enjoy video games. I don't usually play games with a lot of violence and much prefer adventure and puzzle games. In my opinion, solving difficult puzzles is a great way to pass free time while simultaneously exercising and honing problem solving skills.

Student: I am a culinary student undergoing classical training with an emphasis on the techniques of CarĂªme and Escoffier. I am, if I may be so bold, a good cook, but that is not enough for me. I'm not satisfied with being a good cook and will not stop expanding my skills until I am, at the very least, a great chef. Even then, I will still strive for constant improvement.

Humanitarian: In my opinion, nothing is as important to humanity than the improvement of the human condition. I am sorely distressed by the fact that so many people are bogged down in ideological disputes while millions of others are starving in the streets, dying of easily prevented disease, and huddling for warmth for lack of simple shelter. Certainly, homes are more important than mega-churches, schools are more important than aircraft carriers, hospitals are more important than weapons factories, and embassies are more important than military bases.

Skeptic: I am not willing to accept anything on faith. I need evidence. In the absence of evidence, I will try to examine a given aspect of reality from all possible viewpoints and determine for myself which explanation is most probable in accordance with Occam's Razor.
