Do you like reading physical books or reading books online better? Why?
I would very happily switch to an ereader if it weren't so screwed up. A book I can buy anywhere and read anywhere, I can't do that with an ereader. I have to choose one and then I'm limited to books for that device only. Even then I'm screwed. If I buy a Kindle, there are books available on Amazon UK (and not available on Amazon US) that I can't buy for my US Kindle. It's absurd.

No, since comparing our success to others is one of the main ways we figure out how well we're doing. Overall, do you think public schools in America have really gotten worse over the years? What is your local district like?
One of the problems with American schools is the bloat in administration personnel. Many years ago I attended a small, rural high school in Illinois. We had two people in administration, the principal and the secretary. The principal taught two classes himself. I just checked back on that high school. The number of students has decreased. The number of administrative personnel has now climbed...

These people aren't 'missed'. "He/she will be missed," is just something to say, a convention. It's just twaddle. Even fans don't give the man a thought until he's mentioned somewhere, like your question, then it's, "Oh, I miss him so." Until you've lost someone close to you that you loved, you don't even know what 'missing' means. And if you have, then you know you don't miss some celebrity.

As soon as you can do three sets of ten reps, increase the weight. One rep per breath. Breathe properly: inhale before the exertion, exhale during. I.e., on a bench press, inhale coming down, exhale pushing up.

Answer to:
I am seperated from my wife. I have one of our vehicles but it is registered in her name. Can this vehicle be considered stolen?
No. If she tried to report it as stolen and told the truth when the police asked her about the circumstances, they wouldn't write it up as stolen. It's the same if I borrow someone's car and take off for parts unknown, they can't report it as stolen because they loaned it to me. Of course, if I stay gone long enough, they could get me for misappropriation of property or something.

How's the next stage of Evolution decided in Nature, without human meddling of course? What do you think...?"
Evolution is essentially a crap shoot. The variables involved can't even be enumerated, so prediction is out of the question. You could guess, but one guess is as likely or unlikely as the next. And you can't exclude human meddling, since it's part and parcel of the whole game. Species have been affecting their own and others evolution since the game began.

Why don't Americans care about soccer (football)?
Maybe it's simple contrariness, or, only liking what we've invented. Although American Football evolved out of rugby, which evolved out of soccer, and baseball supposedly is a descendant of some English game called rounders, we still think of them as our own. And basketball is, of course, our own; though invented by a Canadian, he did it in New England.

However, as you neared the center of the earth, the force of gravity would decrease, until it reached zero at the center. At that point you would be traveling at your maximum speed and you would continue falling. However, now the force of...

Originally the term was applied to computer hobbyists and, like you say, people who broke the rules (of 'proper programming') in order to discover new ways of doing things. When the criminal types came along, the media misapplied the term to them and it stuck.

Domestically, it's handled like everyone else's. Mail for troops overseas or at sea is handled by the Army Post Office and the Fleet Post office. Those are the APO and FPO addresses. In my day it was fairly simple, but it's a bit more complicated now. You can read how it works here:

How large is a lighting strike?
The return stroke of a lightning bolt follows a charge channel about a centimetre (0.4-in) wide.
The current flowing in this channel heats the surrounding air to 20,000 degrees C., about three times the surface of the Sun, which produces the light you see. This compresses the surrounding clear air and creates a supersonic shock wave which decays to an acoustic wave that is heard as thunder.

The alcohol you drink is actually ethanol. I'm no chemist, but I'm not even sure it would be possible to put it into a pill form. But it's a truly bad idea. With no feedback, overdosing would be extremely easy and people would be killing themselves right and left. Besides, with drinkers, drinking is part and parcel of the whole deal.

I have been sober for almost 3 weeks, going to a lot of AA meetings. Trying to do everything right. Had to stop before I lost everything I hold dear (Kids, Home, Wife job etc.) Now that I'm sober I find that I am angry very often. Is this normal?
HasntBeen makes a good point, but it may also just be a symptom of withdrawal. I'm normally an easy going guy, drinking or not, and when I quit I became short-tempered for a few weeks. I would get angry at little annoyances that wouldn't have bothered me before, and that do not now bother me. And when there was something that was worthy of making me angry, I got much angrier than...

I have a DVD movie with a bonus DVD of "deleted scenes." I'd love to copy the movie to my PC and then splice those deleted scenes back into the movie in the right places, and then burn a new DVD. Is this possible? What software do I need?
First you need to rip the dvd's.
http://www.wikihow.com/Rip-a-DVD-with-DVD-Decrypter
Then you need a good video editing program. I use Sony Vegas Studio, Nero is probably among the cheapest. Free, JahShaka was probably the best as far as versatility goes, but the old incarnation was confusing, but there's been a shake-up and it has been taken over by other people

Just as an experiment, in response to your question, I dug out an old laptop, the one before the one before this one, which I hadn't used in, oh, say three years, and it fired right up. Not that that proves anything. I didn't actually try to do anything with it, like the cd/dvd, etc. And it was buried under a bunch of stuff, which would have protected it from that nemesis, dust.

No. Even ignoring all the evils that came after, Hitler's original aim was to gain lebensraum, or living-space or territory for Germany. Nature abhors a vacuum. If a woman rejects her current lover, she'll likely find another. If she quits smoking, she may take up chewing gum. When you give up something that takes time and attention, you don't just leave it blank. And like Dr. Dredd, why pick on women, men are the same.

Only my actions are subject to my free will. That I will die is fate, so it's really not an either/or. But the kind of fate that says no matter what I do I will meet such and such and woman and have three kids is baloney. IMHO.

I have a computer that only has 512 mb of RAM, would I be able to play a game that required 1GB of RAM(Sims 3)? Would it simply run at half speed?
Not necessarily at half speed, but the computer would have to use the disk as virtual memory, which would slow it down considerably as it would be constantly swapping memory with the disk. I used to run Flight Simulator with 256M. Some flights ran okay, others it was like watching a video over the internet with a slower connection, with the constant freezes.

In the US poverty is defined as "to be lacking the resources to meet the basic needs for healthy living; having insufficient income to provide the food, shelter and clothing needed to preserve health." Thus it would be more affected by the Consumer Price Index than by the incomes of other people. But of course prices may go down during a recession which would lower the poverty level,...

Volt is the unit of measure for voltage. Amp is the unit of measure for current. Current varies in direct proportion to voltage.

Why do some doctors get hissy when you use proper medical terms when speaking to them? Instead of just saying "My knee hurts." you say "I'm having a problem with my quadraceps tendon." This seems to throw them off balance.
Because your doctor is the dispenser of all wisdom. You are an idiot. (His/her opinion, not mine.)

How a webpage display on our screen after we enter the address?
First the address is sent to a Domain Name Server to find out where it is on the internet. Then it's sent to that server which retrieves the file from disk and sends it back to your computer. Your browser interprets the file and displays the page.

No. Nor are most of the people in this town. All the doctor's offices and other medical facilities are clustered around the Yuma Regional Medical Center. Only the people in that neighborhood are within walking distance. There's an urgent care clinic at one of the shopping centers and a couple of other clinics, but for the most part if you need medical care you need transportation first.

They advance you the money, you sign over the money you would get from the court case. Believe me, they are not going to do it unless they're pretty sure you're going to win, and the amount they advance will be less than the eventual settlement. It's like the people who will advance your tax refund, they give you $50 right now, and collect your $100 refund.
