When I start up my computer, nothing happens. The hard drive doesn’t spin, the fans don’t work, nor do I get any display. I’ve checked the power strip and know that power is getting to the computer, but nothing happens from there. Is the little fan in the power supply lighting? The power supply could be bad or the main pwa or the cpu may be shorted. You have to open it and check the caps if they are swolen on top on the main pwa the pwa will have to be changed. These are some of the causes i have seen. Good Luck

How to replace alternator on a 1996 volkswagon passat Detach the cable fron the negative terminal of the battery. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the Alternater. Loosen the alternater adjustment and pivet bolts and remove the drive belt. Remove the two bolts and separate the alternater from the engine. Take the old one to the store and make sure you get the same style one as they use differant styles.

I bought a new one that said "2A 250V" across the top, but the wire broke as soon as I plugged it in. What do I need? Desperately seeking help on removing candle wax from carpet - steam iron on paper bag not working - too much wax, so its just spreads it out more and paper sticks to carpet. Any help out there? Put ice or a bag of frozen food inside a ziplog bag. Place the ice over the wax to freeze it. Get a butter nife and a firm brush. Remove the ice and scrape off as much as you can. Then lay paper towels over the stain. Over the towels put a dry washcloth and heat it with an iron on the low seting. Do this many times until the paper is clean. If not okay now use a carpet cleaner to finish.

I have just bought a used Craftsman lawnmower and I am having trouble finding the plug to drain the oil. It is 6.75 tech. engine , if someone can help I will very gratefull. Thank-you Some engines have a top drain, if so there should be a drain plug on the left front of the air cleaner. If yours is like mine, the drain is on the bottom. Look for the drin plug near the middle of the cutting blade. Remove it with a socket wrench. Do not overfill the oil as it is bad for the engine. Don't forget a pan to catch the old oil. Good Luck

Timing chain, tensioner broke, with a piece of metal in the chain stopping it, there seems to be a missing tooth in the center sprocket (the one going to the engine center). Is this fixable? Yes its fixable,replace the sprocket and the tensioner. Check the timing on the engine. Good Luck

94 chevy astro van does not stay running, unless you keep giving it gas. changed fuel filter, plugs, wires, distributor cap, o2 sensor, rotor, it is not the map sensor. they tested the egr valve and claims it is o.k. what could the problem be? One thing is the vacum hose. Check them for cracks or leaks. Good luck

How do you replace the radiator in a '97 Grand Am? Drain out the cooling fluid. Beware that cats and dogs and children will drink it. remove the clamps on the hoses top and botton. Remove both hoses, they may be stuck, best to cut them off and replace with new ones. Remove the bolts on both sides and remove the radiator. Use sealing compont on the ends off the hoses when you replace them. Good Luck

94, F150 v-8 135,000 miles. Engine is hard to start in the morning. It's like not all of the cylinders want to fire. Took 10 minutes yesterday. Once it starts, I can turn it off then turn it back on with no problems. Try some injector cleaner that may help.

I have a 2001 Chevy Sliverado, 4.3 V6 that smells like hot antifreeze, the smell coming from under the hood, after being driven. I can't find any obvious leaks, nothing drips on the ground, no smell in cab, no water in floorboard. Have to add A/F periodic Bet you have a pinhole in one of your hoses. Let it come up to heat and lift the hood and check those hoses. it may be hitting a hot exaust pipe. Thats why you find none when you stop. Good Luck
