Good question....they are not very expensive and come in very handy...especially in the fall/winter. You simply start something out in the morning and by 4 or 5 P.M. it's ready and delicious. Slow cooking really makes things taste great and you can go out for the day and come back and it's all ready. I love mine and use it a lot. Also, easy to operate.

I'm 15 and very much contemplating suicide. I know asking for quick methods gets no answers, so instead what are good reasons to live? The bad things in my life outweigh the good things and I don't want to fight through them to see how worse life will get
There must be someone you can talk to. Don't keep all of this bottled up inside of you. It's okay if RIGHT NOW the bad outweighs the good. Things change very quickly, especially at the age you are at. It's hard to fight through, but it will make you stronger in the long run. "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger". Reach out, people are there for you.

Why do men say they like natural beauty and a girl with no makeup yet what is portreyd as beautiful in mens magazines are girls with tons of make up and skinmpy clothes? They dont look at natural looking girls it seems to me
I have seen many celebrities in person. They are so overloaded with make-up (especially tv personalites). They are also much skinnier in person. So basically, according to our society, you have to be underweight to look good on television and movies. There is also air-brushing for magazine covers....there is nothing "natural" about it.

I remember after September 11, 2001 when people from all over arrived in New York in droves to see where the World Trade Centers were and the remains and all of that. If you have a Costco near you they make a delicious rotisserie chicken soup. When it gets warmer out, they stop making it. You could buy your own cooked rotisserie chicken there and cut up carrots, add some chicken broth, spices and egg noodles..also so white wine, sugar, salt & whatever else you like to it. Very easy. Very delicious

I'm having a birthday party for my little one . I'm going to provide lunch for everyone. I don't know if i want to do hamburgers and hotdogs or corndogs, or pizza. Have any ideas that wont cost so much?
Pizza would be the easiest....I don't know the age group, but so many people don't eat meat these days. Which again would make pizza a good choice. Kids can also choke on hot dogs. You can also have good appetizers or snacks that will fill in the hunger pangs for the kids. A veggie tray and potato chips possibly. Sometimes pizza places will give you a discount if you are ordering...

If you were going to an outside wedding and were informed that each guest was bringing a plate of food and would be pinning money on the bride's dress, what would you do for a gift? I'm stumped! This should be a new experience!
Well, I would imagine it would be a semi-informal wedding. I would make a nice appetizer and pin $100 on her dress...very different from what I've experienced too. Weddings all around our country as just so different. Some are so formal and some are so informal. I did attend a wedding on a beach last month, which was my first wedding on a beach. The reception afterward was held inside....

Being that you just started I'd forget about him. How can any of that be good for you? You may want to also tell him to get help. I disagree...you may not have liked someone in the past but everyone grows older, a little wiser and you mellow and realize that life is not worth all the energy put into that negative feeling of having an enemy. I know that there are certain people I really don't like, but to call them an enemy...the best thing to do is know that it is in your control to have nothing to do with that person

Witnesses from the past always help with things like this. Pictures help. Alert the police ahead of time. Ask their advice. Be aware that he may get to her and talk her into coming home and there may be nothing you can do about it. That sucks, but sometimes that is what happens in situations like this. Don' forget, she has kids with him. However, what you are doing is a good thing and...

If you buy a pork tenderloin, marinate it for two days in lemon, garlic and soy sauce. For first 45 mins of baking put foil over it and then bake it slowly at about 325F for 1 1/2 hrs. You can add a sauce if you like. Buy a little pork gravy and add some white wine to it delicious!

Starbucks is closing 300 of its stores due to lack of business, What is the most you would pay for a great cup of coffee?
I think the lack of business has a lot to do with how the economy is doing now. Did you know that Starbucks is owned by the Altria Corporation. This company was formed by a cigarette company. They took some of their money out of the cigarette company because they were getting slaughtered by lawsuits and they saw what was likely to happen to them in the future. I don't feel bad for the...

So sorry I'm late with the answer. You clean the asparagus, cut about 1/4 inch of bottom, spread the cheese on the asparagus and wrap it in proscuiutto. It's very tasty and easy.

Talent is one thing, but not the only most important thing. The company or agent that promotes you is important. I don't know how much artists pay these people, but it must be a lot. Many times if a famous person buys your painting, that gets you noticed and on your way to success. I wonder though, do the artists then give the famous people some paintings. A lot if about P.R.

Do you feel sympathy for George W. Bush?
Yes I do. Especially after I saw the movie, "W." It was based on a good part of the truth. I thought the movie would have been funny; but it was sad. It seems like he did everything in his adult life to please his parents, especially his father. They wanted Jeb to run for governor of Florida. They seemed to discourage him running for governor of Texas. Also, when he was younger...

Yes that has happened to me. There are people who don't notice these tricks that the manufacturers try. The cost of things are going up so I try to buy things in bulk at Costco. Pasta is cheaper there and it lasts a long time.

I feel sorry for them. I also believe whether we want to admit it or not, we all complain at times, just not ALL the time. It is not fun to be around 24/7 complainers, I'll admit. The complaining could be for a number of reasons. It shows an underlying dissatisfaction with thier lives, spouse, or maybe their parent complained a lot and it was a learned behavior. Why do people put ketchup on a hamburger? all you taste is the ketchup.
Many times when you get a burger it's dry. So I think people need some type of sauce on it. It's also tradition, everyone else does it. Teresa Heinz Kerry would want to you use ketchup, lol. However, I personally add a little ketchup, but love onions, mushrooms, cheese and a nice juicy hamburger. I don't have them a lot but when I do I want it to taste good.

They say that "if at first you don't succeed, try again." But they also say "insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result." So does that mean every time we have to try something twice, we are insane? Hmmm...
Go Mets! I would say something in between. If you try over and don't quit without trying it again 100 times, then you are not insane. You have to come to some point at which it's not going to work. However, I think the key word is not doing the SAME thing. Change it up while trying it over again.

Yes, they are good and usually the quality of the fruit is good too. They aren't cheap. Some of them even have chocolate covered strawberries. It might be a fad that doesn't last long though. There are some movies that just have to be seen on the big screen. There are some action movies and thrillers that lose something if you watch them at home. I also like the popcorn better in the movies. I don't have a home theatre so I guess some people could happily buy all of their movies and just watch them at home.

Well, sometimes friends pick one thing that you have done wrong, although there are 100 things you've done right. So, allow this friend to get over it. If you must, remind the friend how you've been there for other things. You are not perfect and hopefully your friend will know that they are not perfect either.

What you are saying is true. It takes about an hour or longer no matter what any recipe says. Also, I cook it at 325 - 350 degrees so that you can cook it a little longer without burning the outside. I don't mind if the outside is a little browned though. Better this than too mushy on the inside. Hope this helps.

What is your favorite wine, please disclose region, grape and year if you have this much knowledge, and a good place you can from - preferably UK? under a 5er? (£5)
California chardonnays are the best. I don't know if you can get it in the UK but there is a reasonably price chardonnnay called J. Lohr that has a very nice oaky, vanilla and buttery taste.

Would you eat food products made in China?
I'd each Chinese food made her; but I do not believe I will eat food made in China anymore. The standards for cleanliness in China are not as strict as ours. Especially farm-raised fish. I will not eat that anymore. Their water is so polluted and dirty. It might be cheap, but it is not good for you.

I just finished watching a program on PBS regarding people in the US who have no health insurance. I spent the hour long program in tears. Do you think that afforable heath care for "all" Americans is the most important issue in this election?
Healthcare is ONE of the most important issues of this election and Obama is in favor of health care for all Americans. A woman's right to choose is another important issue. Under McCain's administration women will be losing rights not gaining them. The religious right is active again and McCain is hoping to gain votes because of it. It would surprise me why any women in America today...

I want to take up gardening next spring. From what I've experienced with household plants though, I have far from a green thumb. What are some outdoor plants/flowers or vegetables that are fairly easy to take care of?
Geraniums(full sun), begonias(full sun). A great border flower (part shade) are impatients and very colorful. Tomatoes are easy to grow..just give them sun, good soil and water them a lot. You may need to add a stake or tomato vine to support them as well. Hope this helps.

Why I am the victim of all the joke teasing in my social group? I don’t mind it but I am made fun of a lot I go along with most of it I was just interested to know what you think this means.
The fact that you are asking this question means you do mind and maybe you should mind. High school can be hard on people. Speaking from experience most people like college better. High school is full of a bunch of mostly insecure followers that follow leaders who are clueless and really mean. Don't worry and you probably should try not to let whoever teases you to know it bothers you. I...

How can i get people to like me at my highschool? most of them have never even talked to me - they just ignore me all the time and look at me funny and walk away if try to talk to them.
Hang in there...it will take time. You may go home and feel terrible after school, but it is still early in the school year. Look to meet people in extracurricular activities and it doesn't have to be sports. Try a band or a club. Everyone is insecure in high school and you are not alone. The other people are just not trying to show how insecure they are. Just remember you are not...

Im losing my best friend.I haven't confronted her ,but i know i should .Im just scared that i will lose her even more !I don't know what to do she probably thinks im being really clingy and tell the situation the way she sees it,to her friends ,it hurts.
Sorry about how you are feeling. Why do you feel that you are losing her? I don't know enough about your problem, however, if she is truly your best friend you should be able to talk to her. A confrontation doesn't have to be a negative...you might resolve this and you will feel better about it in the long run.

Which of your family members would you also consider to be one of your closest friends?
My sister. We have had our ups and downs and she is and always has been very needy. It's most of me giving and her taking..but I have 3 sister in laws and they have not proven to be very reliable as friends...if you will. If you have a family member whom you consider to be a friend throughout the years...hang on to them...they are a treasure!

For how long should past abuse remain an explanation for current behavior? If you were abused at ten and you are now forty, should you have overcome the negative consequences of that experience by then? If not by then, then by when?
I do not believe you can recover from something like that at any age until you have some type of therapy. Even if you seem to have recovered and have had extensive therapy these memories and negative experiences will still be there. It is so unfortunate that a child at any age has to experience abuse like this. The adult (who really is not a functioniong adult in society) does not realize...

Did you think Obama was calm and presidential or McCain after watching the debate?
Obama was calm and did look presidential. He is better at debating than McCain. However, I hope people look at the REAL issues when picking their choice for president. How well they debate is not even half of what we should look for in a new president. That being said, I believe Obama would make a better choice for president. The thought of McCain being president scares me. He is too old...

Thanks
There is a saying, "This too shall pass" Hopefully you will only have a bad day and tommorow will be better. It could have to do with the weather or PMS or you feel lonely, whatever it is, I wish for you that tommorow will be better. Even though it doens't feel good to be down, that teaches you to appreciate when things are really good. If you are a good person and you can sleep...

You are living in America right? This is an unhealthy relationship and many insecurities from this boyfriend in addition to control issues are why he does this to you. Don't put up with it. You don't deserve it.

Sometimes opposites attract. For some reason you became close friends 2 yrs. ago. Try to remember why. It is not bad to differ on things. It's good to understand someone else's opionion on things and at the same time they should do the same for you. Everybody is different in some way or other. I'm sure you must have some things in common or you may not have been best...

Is Palin a good choice for Mccains running mate?
Absolutely not! I wanted a woman to be president. However, she was experienced and able. They could have picked so many other capable women to be McCain's running mate. They did this because she is a woman. The truth is McCain doesn't know her very well. She is one of those people with personal vendettas against ex-brother-in-law's and ex-mother-in-laws. She abused her power as...

My sister has a fiery temper. She gets mad over the littlest things and does things she regrets later. She always apologizes, but it's when the damage is done. What can we do to help her stop this?
I do not know the ages of you and your sister, however, maturity and years can help a lot if the anger problem is dealt with early and by someone who really cares. Maybe one of your parents should intervene. Luckily she is taking her anger out on someone who will most likely forgive her. She maybe angry about something else that she is not dealing with. She may be very frustrated about it. It...

First of all good luck! Make a lot of friends. Be yourself and don't be nervous, just realize that a lot of other people just like you are nervous and want to fit it just like you do. Overall just be a good person while being yourself. You will attract friends just by doing that!
