Answer to:
why do people pick on canada?
I believe most people pick on Canada in response to the lies of the few people who go around saying how terrific Canada is compared to the USA (when clearly it isn't.) For instance, Michael Moore talks about how superior their health-care system is to the USA. Since of course it isn't true people respond with lots of jokes about the Canadian waiting list for medical care, etc.

When I was younger I took money from a drug dealer before who I caught dealing in front of a property I owned. I didn't do it for the money (inconsequential) but instead because I had no proof and cannot tolerate people dealing on my land. There was another person I knew was dealing and I opened up his car and got in. I told him we were driving to the police station and he ran away leaving...

Should the US eliminate Islam by whatever means necessary?
Yes. Muslims have a moral obligation to fight for enslavement to Sharia and kill those who will not convert. Americans have an obligation to fight for freedom and democracy. We should live up to our responsibilities and deal with the Muslim problem instead of hoping they will simply go away. They won't.

Answer to:
People vote to institute a law that makes beating children to death with a metal spoon legal, would it be morally incorrect to disagree?
People should own their children -- currently they are treated as government property. As soon as the government decides children are its property we go down the slippery slope we have today where illegals are allowed to stay within the USA because it is in the best interests of their anchor baby.

I think it is important to point out that rights don't come from the Supreme Court. You do have a right to bear arms. Period. The Supreme Court is determining to what extent the government will infringe upon that right. For instance, you have a right for me to not infringe on your property. No. They cost America BIG TIME because they provide the false illusion that we don't need to address the real problem -- shortage of low-cost generation capacity. Of course. The sum of your utility bills and taxes = its energy use. Your house uses the energy of the government officials driving around to determine if they can fine you.

If you are even more stupid than I suspect you can go after him for it but if you go after him he can and just might sue you in which case you would lose (as you should). This would obviously cost you more and as a man I would never consider you for a mate just based on your question.

Certainly this alone is not enough to pay back a mouse's debt to society. This is why the step you describe is only the last in a long series of such steps I have outlined in my mouse-atonement 101 blog posting. It is a constantly evolving process with new steps added or refined almost daily so check back often.

Answer to:
Should Marijuana be legalized and taxed in America?
No. It should be legalized and not taxed. Otherwise a loop would be created where the Marijuana taxes come off welfare mother's EBT cards only to be added right back on as handouts. Such a feedback loop might be more than the EBT card holder's little brains can handle.

Is Google biting off more than it can chew with Chrome OS?
Microsoft bit off more than it could chew with Windows -- they have never gotten it right. It is still buggy with lots of security holes. In fact, Microsoft bit off more than it could chew with Microsoft Dinosaur. So if Google only has to do better than Microsoft I would say that there is no way they have bitten off more than they could chew because the standards bar is so incredibly low.

A woman is suing a college $70 thousand dollars to get back her tuition, for the school promised her a job once completed and she could not find one.Should colleges be made to guarantee a job when completed, considering high tuition?
No. A college degree is the new high school degree now that high schools "socially promote" center-city wannabe gangsters that can't read. The "new high school degree" doesn't mean any more than the old one. If you want a job based on merit a college degree doesn't prove anything. If you want a job based on degree alone a college degree doesn't mean anything.

How much MORE do people in countries with socialized medicine pay in taxes compared to U.S.? I figured it out, and if my income taxes go up 20%, but my healthcare was free, I would be saving money.
Socialized medicine kills people. To know how much you are saving you have to figure in the value of the lives lost to the waiting line. You also have to figure in the largest number of all: the cumulative lives lost due to a slowing of medical advances!

Simple. Voters are happy to vote in and continue to support legislators who vote in favor of a bill they haven't examined. If voters starting voting against incumbents who voted for bills without examining them the legislators would end this practice at once.

Some children might be worse off but there would be a vast overall improvement.

Most traffic tickets are thinly veiled tax collection. If you indirectly voted for such taxes then you deserve the ticket no matter what your argument. I vote against all such nonsense and don't believe I do deserve any of the tickets I have received. Most have been dropped but I did time for one I didn't deserve rather than pay the fine.

So, in a disaster, which would you eat first - the dog or the cat?
I would eat the dog. The cat would probably find enough food to survive on its own but the dog would die soon anyway unless I fed it the rest of the dog food which I would undoubtedly keep for myself. After eating the dog then I would eat the cat and finally the dog/cat food. I believe this order would provide the most days of survival.

Stop rewarding it! For instance, many students are given hours of busy-work assignments for homework instead of being instructed to learn. If a student truly wishes to learn despite the educational system they must copy the busy-work assignments so that they may have time left over to both learn and have a life.

San Jose California city council voted to reduce plastic bag pollution by banning both plastic bags and paper bags.
How does banning paper bags reduce plastic bag pollution?
It sounds like someone at the San Jose California city council decided to force "reusable green bags" down their constituents throats. Afterwards they decided to use plastic bag pollution as a justification. Paper bags just didn't fit well into their justification but they went with it anyway.
Answer to:
If we were to decriminalize some crime (other than drugs) so we could tax it, what would you recommend?
The obvious answer is gambling. Many cities have legalized it so that it could be taxed. However, I am against a tax code which differentiates between the purchase of bread and crack. I do not wish the government to prescribe for me the proper way to achieve happiness.

Voting should be restricted to US property owners. You must actually own the property outright (unmortaged and lien-free). The property ownership must be more than a token – e.g. it must appraise at least 100% of per capita GDP (three years savings at the Japanese rate of 34% of GDP).

How to convert from one language to another?
There are many methods. Java can be compiled into C++ which in turn can be compiled into C. Since there are some decient disassemblers for the JVM anything that can be targeted at the JVM can be disassembled into Java and then recompiled into C/C++. There are many other options. I once wrote a program which translated pascal into C which worked very well on a 200 KLOC program.

I disagree with your analysis of why a drug should possibly be legal or illegal. I furthermore find your analysis potentially dangerous to smoker's and drinker's rights. The reason to legalize drugs has to do with increased personal freedom and liberty … it has to do with who owns your body --- yourself or the government. It has nothing to do with health.

No. Your farm is too small. 140 trees at $10 profit each is only $1400. It just isn't worth it on that small a scale. The only hope you have is to find another tree farmer who will take your crop and bundle it with his. You would basically be renting the land to him.

If it's true that gas mileage is less with ethanol, why are we using corn to make ethanol when it's causing higher food prices because of increased corn costs for animal feed, bread etc.?
There are energy and food security risks associated with importing rather than growing your own. Even if it was cheaper to import that wouldn't give us the massive food security buffer that ethanol from corn provides us. It also does provides jobs to Americans. Additionally, some believe that starting the industry here is a good idea because it may become more efficient as time passes....

The Chinese built the world's most famous hydro-electric plant on the Yangtze River (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Gorges_Dam). It costs 39 billion U.S. dollars and the displacement of 1.24 million Chinese. It was a terrific decision on their part. Can you think of any amusing differences in word meanings? For instance, in many places, if someone says "I haven't had a bath in years" it could just mean they only have a shower at home, not a bath. Any others?
Yeah, once I meant to ask my honey pie to please pass the butter beans but it came out “You fat ugly bitch you're driving me to drink.”

So if I am a young-looking adult the laws apply differently to me because of how I look? I can't post a racy personal advert, etc. While we're at it let's outlaw ugly people entirely.

In plenty of cultures women under 18 married adult men. Here they all would be “rape victims” but it didn't seem to stop the BILLIONS people past and present from enjoying a good life. We've gone crazy with the victim thing.

When someone cheats with his/her spouse or lover, the jilted lover often lays the blame on the person they cheated with. Shouldn't the cheater be held responsible? They're the one who promised faithfulness, not the "other person".
I believe it goes something like: Laying blame on the person they cheated with makes since because they are ALSO guilty of moral impurities along with the cheater themselves. Any blame on the cheater is private.

What's the idea of asking others to pray for you / for a loved one? It's almost as if God is more likely to hear a prayer the more people say it, or that God will "count the votes" before deciding to grant or deny a request.
Exactly. That is why big countries normally beat little countries in a war... there are more people in the big countries to pray for victory.

What do you think of this idea: All big oil companies have to develop one viable, inexpensive green energy source, and have to hand over 1% of their profits for each year that it takes them to do so.
I dislike the idea. We don't need to worry about green energy ... we need to worry about cheap energy and more industry. When unemployment is negative then we can worry about green energy.

The Catholic church gets to set its own standards. These standards are DIFFERENT from those of the general populous. They can only protect these standards by keeping out people who believe differently.

No, you cannot have the police remove her. She is a tenant and you must take her to court to evict her. If what Obama meant when he announced the 'stimulus' has done it's job was that he was successful in the largest ever increase in the size of the US government he was correct. This was a much larger goal of his than fixing the economy.
