Answer to:
After I urinate, I put my penis back in my underwear. Shortly later, I notice there are wet spots from leakage. What could it be?
Do not fret. It's normal. When I was a kid, I was embarrassed (but educated) by an adult man I worked with, who commented as I returned from the bathroom: "Ain't it funny: no matter how hard you shake it, you can't get rid of that last drop." At that point I realized I was "normal" and stopped worrying about leakage.

Yes. We're using Feliway to try to get our 2 cats used to the dog we "inherited" when my ma-in-law moved from a house to an apartment. I can't say for sure whether it's working or not. Our house is not compact and we don't have the diffusers in every room, so that may affect how well it works.

Definitely evolution. That is an orderly process that proceeds according to rules. I want a God that is not capricious, whom I can trust -- not one who does magic at the drop of a hat (so to speak). I want an understandable world where I can be pretty sure that tommorrow will bear some resemblance to today.

Because black people originated in Africa and were thought of as "tamed savages" when they were brought to the U.S. as slaves, they have been compared to "savage apes" -- i.e., something humanlike but lesser than "civilized" whites. That has gone on for a long time and is clearly racist. It's not because of the ears.

I don't think so. I think the lack of enthusiasm comes from today's desire for immediate everything. People don't want to explore with the hope of finding something. They want to know what's there and go get it. That's kind of dumb when you CAN'T know what's there until you go.
People also don't understand that NASA doesn't send money into space. NASA gives people jobs to do its projects....

Could be almost anything: virus, stopped-up salivary gland (which is REALLY painful), some kind of infection. Or it could go away on its own. You shouldn't fret, but only a doc can figure out what it really is and how to make it feel better.
In the meantime, try holding a warm-to-hot washcloth against where it hurts, because that can sometimes unstop a plugged salivary gland.

They think only of themselves and immediate, maximum gratification. They don't care what happens to future generations, including their own children. It's pathetic.

It's not based completely on size. A "planet" must orbit the sun directly -- not while orbiting another body, among other things,

I don't know what the Social Security Administration would say, but I would say "yes," the child SHOULD receive the payments. If your daughter calls YOU dad, she shouldn't call the other guy dad. She should call him "pop" or something similar. That would avoid confusion in her mind and not cause her to replace her mental image of you as her real father. Is it possible she could ask if she could call the other guy "pop," etc.? Earth strange name for planet?
Science fiction planets have cool names to make them sound exotic or to make them sound like they were named in the native language of the (non-human) people who live on them. A lot of sf planets are given dull names, like "Glory" or "Arcturus 4" to try to make them sound more realistic, but I don't think that actually IS realistic. You should be able to do a split-screen with ANY editing software so that you can put your movies side-by-side. None of the software descriptions would necessarily SAY that, because it is such a basic thing. If you need more info, make a comment.

Answer to:
Why do you have to 'put your two cents in'... but it's only a 'penny for your thoughts'?
Where's that extra penny going?
It pays for adding in the energy involved in convincing the listener that your thoughts should be considered. A penny just buys the info: what are you thinking? When your put in your two cents' worth, you're not just stating what you're thinking; you're also expressing an idea you want the others to consider. You're making a point. That costs extra.

Why do some say "supper" and others say "dinner?"
Dinner is generally the largest meal of the day. People who work at indoor jobs and/or commute usually have it at night, with a lighter meal ("lunch") at noon. People who do manual labor, like farmers, need the fuel to keep going, so they have their dinner at noon and the lighter meal ("supper") at night. (In the U.S.A.)

When you get a full body massage, do you normally get fully naked? And is it common for a guy to get a hard on?
1. Yes.
2. Not necessarily. If it's a legitimate massage business, it's not sexy at all and the masseuse or masseur (or whatever) keeps a towel covering your naughty bits all the time. Even when you turn over, they usually turn their backs until you are settled.

I have stopped buying products that caused human suffering in the past. Example: when Nestle (I think) used to market powdered baby formula in Africa, telling women not to nurse their kids. The product wasn't sufficiently nutritious. (Nestle doesn't do this any more.)

No! You are just a victim of a crime. That's all. The guy should have been sympathetic. You went through something horrible. I'm sorry you had to hear him talk like that.
As far as being a virgin goes, technically you are not a virgin because you had sex. But that is not a big deal -- or at least it shouldn't be. It's more of a concept than anything else these days. So, mentally you...

I really like this boy. We went out and now he doesn't like me anymore. I'm not over him yet and I'll never be. What do I do?
You're saying "never" way too soon. Do your best to make a new male friend. Time will truly make the hurt go away. Things just seem like "never" when you are young. That's because one day out of your life is a big chunk. When you are older and have lived more years, one day out of your life will be a smaller chunk and time will seem to go faster; thus healing from hurt will seem to go...

How do you copywrite and patent a story or comic book idea and name?
I don't think you can copyright an idea. You CAN copyright the expression of the idea if you write it out as a story. You simply add the words "Copyright 2011 bored347" onto the story, preferably on the title page. That's a legal copyright, as I understand it.
You could trademark (not copyright) the name, but I don't know the legal requirements to qualify a name for a trademark. You could...

Is it wrong not to neuter my dog yet because I want him to breed once?
The real question should be: what's going to happen to the other puppies in the litter he sires? Are you prepared to care for them? If not, you might reconsider wanting a puppy from him. The whole deal about neutering pets is to prevent unwanted animals from being born and then either suffereing or having to be put to sleep.

It's a question-and-answer website that lets anyone ask and answer questions of anyone else. Any question or answer can be commented upon. Some "seed" questions are posed by the website's staff. It has many self-styled experts providing answers. There are also many questions and answers that request opinions rather than hard facts. It's entirely possible you have a bad cold or the flu. First, trust no medical advice you get on AB. You don't know if it's really a doctor giving the advice. That said, I suggest treating it like a cold and if it doesn't go away when a cold would and/or if the symptoms aren't relieved by typical cold-relief medicine, you might check with a doctor.

How can we overcome the fear of death?
1. Don't dwell on it.
2. Live your life as "righteously" as you can (regardless of whether you are religious or not). Then, when you die, if there IS an afterlife, you can feel confident that you will go to a pleasant afterlife. Even if when you die that's the end, you will have lived a life that contributed to the good of the world and your fellow humans, and that ain't bad.

No, because it truly is NOT a choice; it's the way a person is born.
A side thought: gay people live lives just like everyone else, except for the way they have sex. And they do a lot more living of life than having sex all the time, just like everyone else. That's why it's so sad that they are discriminated against. The vast majority of their lives is spent just doing what all of us do,...

It is not technically possible to prove that a thing isn't true. All people can do is collect evidence that something IS true, test it to be sure that it remains valid and then decide if there's enough there to convince themselves that a thing is true.
This applies to everything, not just religion.

No, it's a means of being sure our species continues to exist. If two people stay together after they have kids, it's twice as likely that the kid will have someone to care for it until it's big enough to care for itself.
For those who don't have kids, the instinct to love is still there. They are, after all, humans, too. So the non-kidded are also likely to want to stay with their...

Im going to be making a new social website. Im looking for some name ideas anyone have any?
Tell us what the focus or the hook is and it'll help us help you. For instance, Facebook started by showing what people looked like. Twitter is based in brevity and birds' chirps are usually fairly brief, so that was a good match. Etc.
But be careful. If you have a really good idea and publish it here, someone will certainly steal it. So maybe you should NOT do what I'm suggesting!
Answer to:
Spiritually speaking-how long is the journey of the Soul?
If you believe in reincarnation, it would take differing times, based on how many lifetimes (and the length of each) it takes to achieve perfection. If you don't believe in reincarnation, then please define what you mean by "journey of the soul." Is it just from the moment of death to the afterlife or something else?

Help asking a girl out?
You can do it.
1. If someone else picks up, just say "Hey, this is _____, can I talk to _____, please?" That way she'll know it's you when she picks up the phone.
2. The worst thing that can happen is that she will say she can't go out. She could say that for any of a number of legitimate reasons, none of which are reflections on you. So if she says she can't go out Saturday (for example),...

I was thinking about asking my crush out and he just brokeup, and I don't think he wants to get in a relationship for a while should I?
Going out with someone who JUST broke up can lead to a not-so-good relationship in the long term, because:

2. He might act really interested in you just because he wants to prove to himself he can have fun without his ex, but you won't know if he really IS interested for a good while-- until he feels healed from the break-up.

What should you do to someone who tries to touch your junk?
It totally depends on the situation. Like, on a date, it's a cool thing. In a locker room, it's responded to with (1) "Hey! Watch it!", then (2) application of a fist to the jaw of the toucher. In the airport, it's to be tolerated, because it's necessary -- and unless you're a porn star the person doing the touching isn't getting any jollies out of having to do it. Sez me.

You can only chew certain types of medicines. Others need to be taken whole so they dissolve gradually and release the medicine over a long period of time, thereby keeping the medicine in your system. It partly depends on what the chemical is and how fast your body typical excretes it. Your body hangs onto some things and gets rid of others as fast as possible.

Why is Watchmen the greatest graphic novel of all time?
It's interesting, but I really don't know why it is judged to be the greatest. It has plenty of depressed characters and a very well-done intricate set of intertwined storylines. Maybe it's the writing that stands out and causes it to be so highly rated.

when you are editing pics how do you make it all black and white except for one thing?
Here's an alternative to nosmoking's technique:
1. Make 2 copies of the pic. (So you always have the original to go back to if you mess up.)
2. Turn one all black-and-white.
3. Use a cutting-out tool or an eraser on the color copy to remove all of the pic except the part you want to keep in color.
4. Align the color cut-out so it exactly covers up the black-and-white version of itself.

You can never say the right thing to a girl friend. The best-intended comments may (or may not) be misinterpreted. It's pointless to try to analyze. Just wait til she gets over it and go on with your relationship.

If you are highly susceptable to headaches..what is the best thing to help it besides taking drugs?
Learn about the pressure point near your thumb here:
http://www.necksolutions.com/headache-pressure-point.html
It really works. Generally, if the left side of your head has the ache, you use the pressure point on your right hand, and vice-versa.
Only bad thing: I have found that, often, it only works as long as I keep up the pressure and the headache might return when I release my hand.

What important lessons have you learned when you grow up?
Don't be the person in an argument who yells. Let the other person get crazy. That way you appear in charge because you remained calm.
You don't have to get your way all the time. Choose what's worth fighting for and what's not.
Remember those less fortunate than you are, in whatever way you can afford to.
Keep track of other people's special events, birthdays, pets, spouse's names, kids'...

Why do multi BILLION dollar companies need to outsource all the jobs overseas for cheap slave labor........................................?
If one company does it, Americans will buy that company's products because they are cheaper. That's how Americans are.
There's always at least one company that is willing to do ANYTHING for more money. If other companies want to compete (i.e., stay in business), they have to do the same thing.
Also, unions in America were started for very good reasons, but nowadays many of them have...

Just like alcohol and that is legal?
When I was a teenager I lived in a state that was dry. Alcohol was illegal. There were easily-found bootleggers who'd sell us any kind of alcohol (bottled & labeled by all manufacturers --- not moonshine). That didn't mean we were constantly drunk.

Not for a LOT of people. Sometimes when something works just fine, it's a good idea to leave it alone. Many people don't like having to learn new things every few months. No! Half the time that just adds one more thing (or set of things) to worry about. He needs a good male friend he can (1) gripe to, (2) get suggestions from -- if he wants them and (3) drink with while doing so. And then the male friend goes home and leaves the man alone.

If I was hard of hearing and might not understand what the doc was telling me I should do, it would be OK. I'm not 100% sure you can say it was the Jews. Regardless, if Jesus had not been "killed" by SOMEBODY, He could not have been resurrected. Without the resurrection, a huge part of the message of Christianity would be non-existent. So whoever killed Him was just just playing a part in the overall plan of getting the message across. It was necessary.

if so when he gets hired and goes undercover, do they give him a fake ssi card and id?
They interviewed one of the bosses on the radio. He and 2 actors claim they are being followed by the camera crew for a documentary. The actors are there to help keep the focus from being solely on the boss -- to make the setup more believable. In this case, the boss wouldn't really need to show a SS number, though he'd need a fake ID because using his real name might blow his cover.

What's the worst that can happen? She can say "no, thank you." Just tell her it's fun to talk with her, but you don't want to keep her from her work. Ask if she's interested in getting some coffee (or whatever) when she has some free time. It couldn't hurt...and you might win big! Happy hunting!

Answer to:
When you get married; how do you make it work? How do you not get bored? How do you have fun every year, etc?
First, marry a friend. A lover is nice, but you need a friend even more. That's a relationship that will last. Second, expect a rough first year. Even if you've been living together, it will be different and emotions will be enhanced. It will pass. Third, it's not boring because you are sharing the adventures of life with another person, not really giving anything up. Well, I guess...

What is Ashley Greene's ethnic background I mean I know she's white but what last name is greene?
Greene or Green comes from a Middle English word meaning "to grow." But that doesn't mean her background is English. Many families changed their names when they immigrated to the U.S. So you can't always go by names. That's all I know; sorry it's only half of the answer you want.

Scratch the back of kitty's head, behind the ears. Also scratch kitty's back right in front of where the tail is attached. Some like being tickled under their chin. Some like belly and/or chest rubs -- but some hate it.
Answer to:
My gf of 3 years thinks its time to move in together... any ideas?
Yes. If you do not feel comfortable with the idea, it will not work out. If she DOES move in, and if things go bad, you're stuck until one of you agrees to move -- an additional point of contention.
If you DO feel comfortable with the idea, go ahead. Just be sure to set out in advance who pays for what and who owns what...just in case.

Free As A Bird sounded great. So why didn't the surviving Beatles give ALL of John Lennons songs the "anthology treatment"?
If you mean unreleased songs, they may not have thought they were (1) good enough or (2) suitable for a group. If you mean the song he released as a solo artist, I don't think there's anything that could be improved upon in those songs (the ones I've heard).
I have to say, though: it's a very melancholy experience listening to "Free as a Bird" and his solo songs, since I remember him being...

It might; it might not. But to find out, you MUST take them regularly for 3 to 4 weeks before judging if you are being helped. You should also expect to feel hyper for the first week or so. This varies depending on what specific medicine you take.
If you need help, give it a chance. It could be worth it. It certainly helped me.

Cats used to be called "familiars" because they do this. They genuinely like the company of people. Your kitty may want some attention, or he may just be happy to be near you. If he curls up near you, it's not the attention thing. Otherwise, do a little more petting and see if he wants to sleep on your lap while you compute.

It's generally good. Three points:
1. I'm not clear what this means: "I have a lot of inner energy which prompts me to achieve self-expression and self-realisation."
2. If you are in the U.S., it should be spelled "realization."

I would pick someone who was in excellent mental shape at the time of his/her death, like a car accident victim, so that whatever question I asked would be likely to get a useful and meaningful answer. The obvious question would be "Where are you and what's going on?" I know that's two questions, but I was hoping to say it fast enough to get by. If I could only get in one question, it would...
Answer to:
Why are the Scriptures devoid of humour ?
Scriptures of any religion, I'd venture to say.
My guess is that humor usually involves exaggerating the truth, and exaggerations in one part of the Bible could lead to doubt about the other parts' being 100% true. It would just be a bad plan for getting the message across and believed. In other words, marketing strategy.

Answer to:
How are we judged after Death? Who judges us?
Until one dies, there is absolutely no way to KNOW whether or not we are judged after death -- or if there is anything after death. People can BELIEVE one way or another, but it takes dying to truly know. And then you only get to know if your consciousness does in fact (1) continue and (2) continue in a form that is aware that it once was you. Sorry. No easy answers if you are realistic...

Why do employed people on the clock visit Answerbag when they are supposed to be working? Is this stealing company money?
My company allows "reasonable" personal use of the company computers. So just checking AB once a day for a minute or two is not stealing, according to the rules of that company. I don't usually do it, though.

I don't know if you can be let go because of an injury. There may be some discrimination involved. Is there some other job you could do at that company until you are healed and can do your old job again?

Have you ever had a dream about someone you were in love with over 10 years ago, and then you can't stop thinking about them?
Oh, yeah. But before you make contact with that person again, remember that people change over the years (based on whatever events happen to occur in their lives). So you may be remembering the person the way they were, not the way they are now -- or the way they think & feel now.
Answer to:
Why Aliens has never been proved by the scientist the facts of their existence?
To scientifically prove something, you have to be able to have it happen more than once under the same conditions. That just hasn't happened yet. Scientists would love to know the truth about aliens -- and be able to prove it. But all the alleged alien events happen once and can't be repeated, and that doesn't qualify as scientific proof. Technically, it's anecdoctal.

Certainly not! I don't believe in burning any kind of book, religious or otherwise. It doesn't actually erase any of the knowledge contained in the books, anyway. It's symbolic at best. And burning knowledge glorifies ignorance, which I'm not in favor of. Better to use one's energy to make a good case for one's own beliefs that in trying to destroy others'.

Answer to:
Is age just a number? If so, then why don't my friends understand it? :(
When people say you will get raped, that includes statuory rape, where you AGREE (and are not forced) to have sex, but the law says you're too young. That could land your friend in jail for a long time. Do you want that? (Nothing you say to defend him is accepted in court, BTW, if you are in fact below the age of consent where you live. The law assumes you're too young to know you shouldn't...
Answer to:
im so scared to ride my guy and even give him head! how do i overcome this within like 10 hours!?!?!?!?!
Don't do ANYTHING you don't want to do. You are just as important as he is, so don't be talked into something you'll regret. Go as far as you want, but no further.
And, please, if you get to that point, use protection!

What do I say to a close friend who has an ugly baby?
My cousin was pretty bad-looking when he was born and yet he grew into a very handsome man. So just make your eyes out of focus when you have to look at the kid and don't say anything.

Why do I now have my old answerbag account back? Why is this so? Why is it certain that I now have my old answerbag account back?
Just an opinion, not an answer: Asking "why" about ANYTHING Answerbag does is pointless. My father used to say this when someone asked him "why" and there was no good answer: "Y is a crooked letter."

Yes. In Mississippi they just passed a law that you have to have a prescription to buy it at all, which is really cruel to the poor, who can't afford both a doctor's fees AND the medicine.

No.
Answer to:
Why are we discriminating against the spanish immigrants?
I love immigrants. All four of my grandparents were immigrants -- LEGAL immigrants. It's not discrimination to say that someone who comes to the country and breaks the existing immigration laws is an "illegal immigrant." What else would you call them? "Undocumented" means nothing.

Answer to:
should i change the way i am for a girl ?
You can compromise, but you shouldn't have to change everything about yourself. (She should compromise, too.) All successful relationships work because of compromises by both parties. Also, it's more important to be good friends than good lovers. You'll benefit more in the long run by having a good friend you can rely on. You aren't going to be making love all the time, but you ARE going...

Answer to:
When looking for the best melons, am I supposed to squeeze them or shake them?
From various sources:
Cantaloupes: The first thing you want to do when choosing a ripe cantaloupe is smell it. Ripe cantaloupes give off a sweet, cantaloupe smell that you can't mistake. Also, press gently on the place the stem was attached; it should "give" a little.
Honeydews: The best way to tell when honeydew melons are perfectly ripe is to feel the melons. Ripe melons have some very...

It's probably safe if you live out in the country and don't encounter curbs and traffic. When I was growing up, there was no such thing as a bike helmet. Nowadays, however, you gotta obey the law.

Is it true that the government reads our private Facebook messages?
Nothing on Facebook is private. You are decieving yourself if you think otherwise. Anyone willing to do a little work can read what's on Facebook. If you write and post anything to the internet, you might as well be buying a billboard and putting it on all the world's busiest highways.

Answer to:
i have two leso friends wat do i do
If they're your friends and you enjoy hanging out with them, you continue enjoying them. If you are worried they will "convert" you or something, they can't if you aren't interested. If they seem to enjoy being with you as a friend, keep them as friends. Friends are hard to find and keep. You probably have other friends who are gay and you just don't know they are.
Answer to:
Why is shit brown? Vegetarians, meat-eaters, humans & animals - all have brown shit. Why?
Lots of dead red blood cells are excreted. Their reddish color mixes with the other colors of digested food and makes it look brown.

I don't think so! It's from the same school as "Perry Mason," which always reminds me of walking behind a big-ish woman, watching her hips gyrate.
"Hawaii 5-0" is close, too.

When did you first get attracted to somebody? Do you remember the person's face? Is anybody here who found his first love, got married?
Yeah. I was a little kid, sitting up in a tree in the front yard of our doctor's house with his daughter. I don't remember what I said, but she ending up saying something like "I don't love you, we're just friends." (I mean a LITTLE kid, way pre-teen!)

About this latest Dr. Laura flap regarding the "n" word.
If you listen to the recording of the show segment, as I did after the fact, you will see that she was actually complaining about the overuse of the n-word by black comedians. She said something like, "why can they say n, n, n and it's funny?" As much as I dislike her on-air persona, I have to say that in this case an apology was NOT in order. In that segment she NEVER used the word as part...

The Mosque Issue: Are Some people Unwilling to Accept when Their Freedoms Extend to Others as Well?
It's a case of ill-will and insensitivity on the part of the builders, who beyond the shadow of a doubt know they are hurting some people's feelings by proceeding with building at that location. Of course they can do it legally. But, knowing the mental harm they're doing, there HAS to be a reason they are pressing ahead.

There was once a program that supposedly could find your pic or even a part of your pic that had been cut out and manipulated and used by someone else to create a new pic. Check out TinEye. Note, NOT TinyEye.

Answer to:
Why is our moon so much larger in proportion to other planets and their moons? If it were in proportion, would life on earth die out?
Our moon was probably a chunk of Earth knocked off by something that hit Earth. Moons of other planets are more likely captured asteroids. So, technically, there's no real measure of "in proportion."

Answer to:
Which is better, a sport that is sponsored by the participants (ie u can play hockey but get ur own gear) or one that is sponsoredby3rdparty
One's not better than the other. It's just that the sponsored sports get money they can use for equipment, better facilities, etc. Players just have to pay the price of promoting a company they may or may not like to be on the team. Sometimes it's a matter of practicality (can we afford to play at all?) rather than morality.

Answer to:
What has been holding America back from reaching it's full potential?
Unions (which used to have a good purpose, but now have leaders who feel like they have to beat up the employers regularly or the membership will think they're not working hard enough for them). Greed. The inability of corporations/politicians/general citizens to think or care about what happens to their kids and grandkids, focusing on immediate gratification instead.

Well, sure. Putting anything besides clean air in your lungs is worse than ONLY putting clean air in your lungs. With the strength of today's weed, you don't have to smoke too much to get high, so it's better on your lungs than it was a number of years ago.

Why is it so hard to remember dreams right after you wake up? And is there a way to get yourself to dream more?
If you want to remember more of your dreams, keep a pad and pen by your bed. When you wake up, DO NOT TURN ON THE LIGHT. Lie in bed in the dark and write as much as you can remember. You can help your memory by writing with your eyes closed. This really works. You just have to do it immediately upon awakening. You can do it if you wake from a dream in the middle of the night. You will be...

Getting separated, should I go ahead and withdraw all funds from bank accounts? Suggestions, ideas? Any warnings?
It depends on the laws in your state and how long you've been married. For example, if you've been married 7 years and live in California, you only have the right to half the money. The only way you've have the right to more is if you had it in a separate account that you had never used as a source of fund for you and your spouse. It's more complicated than that, but you get the idea.
So,...

Since you were out of high school, did you ever read books for fun on your free time?
I read books constantly -- both fiction & nonfiction. I love getting lost in a story the way you do in a book that you can't do in a movie. I love being exposed to new ideas and find that they inspire me to do more creative things at work. I feel weird if I don't have a book or two on hand waiting to be read. It's really hard for me to conceive of someone who doesn't enjoy reading about...
