Have you ever used the word "Scuttlebutt"?
Yes, it's a naval term. Meaning a place to get fresh water like a cask or a water fountaint.
It's also a term used for gossip or the passing of info between sailors.

Answer to:
Hillary Clinton or Barak Obama and why?
No matter what, I could never vote for Clinton. She's worse then her husband with her deceit and arrogance. She would bankrupt the US (worse then Bush is) with all her "plans" to help the people. I'm sure there are many that disagree with me and that's what America's all about. Too much of what she believes in, I don't. If you want something in this life,...

Answer to:
Do you enjoy foreign movies?
On my blockbuster list, most of the movies I rent are foriegn with subtitles. I prefer them for two reasons: The stories are always better then the predictable films we have here and I have a disability called CAPD which garbles spoken words in my brain and causes me to "not hear" what is being said. I've learned to adapt and watching captions or subtitles and pulling the...

Answer to:
Have you ever donated blood?
Yes, many times. However, I am no longer allowed to give because during the 80's I lived in Italy while serving in the Navy. Because of eating meals on the town off and on for more then 6 months, the Red Cross is now concerned that many may have contracted Mad Cow disease, although we show no signs of it. Unfortunatly, this has cut many donors from active duty military and veterans from...

I have an old prescription bottle here where the label has been worn to where I can't read it and would like information on a pill that has a L405 on the back and 500mg on front
For your safety, I would just trash it down the toilet. However, if you are bent on knowing what it is, trying going to the library and seeing if the have "the pill book". It is a pill dictionary and shows the numbers on the pills. Also, a pharmacist may be able to help.

How many of you suffer from migraines? What medicine do you take for them and does it work?
I have had migranes since the age of 4. I now get them usually bi monthy associated with my cycle. I take Axert and Darvacet as needed. If that doesn't work, I have vycodin as a back up. In Jan I started seeing a chiroprator. It hasn't hurt, but hasn't helped yet either. Also, my doctor recently put me on Topamax daily. You may think this is too many med, but they are...

I have very sensitive skin and when i shave my legs i either break out in rashes, or i get bumps everywhere that dont go away. ive tried different things such as waxing, nair, and all that and they are even worse on my legs.. any suggestions?
I get ingrown hairs on my face. I searched the net and heard of something called "tend skin". I found a bottle at a store in our mall and have been using it since. It seems to be working, although it's only been two weeks. I haven't gotten any bumps nor any ingrown hairs in that area. Pre-menapause is the cause, but I believe Tend Skin will be the cure. Check out...

As will all canine health questions, ask your vet. However, my JRT was nine months old and went into heat. She already had an appt to be spayed two weeks later. My vet did spay her, using double and triple sutures but she stated she would NOT have done it if the dog was over sixty pounds. This never affected her temperment nor did she state in a constant state of PMS. After recovery she...

What is the most painful experience you have endured?
My beagle terrier mix, Barney, died from Decon. There was NONE in our home, so he got it from somewhere else. Decon is meat based and a horrible way to die. He bleed internally and had to be put down. His death changed my life dramatically and I still mourn him over three years later. The saddest part is I now suspect my ex husband did it, who has since admitted to hating him and being...

What are you afraid of and why?
I'm in this group. I think it's because I'm clostrophic. Being under water is not natural for humans (breathing). My biggest fear would be to die of drowning.

Have you ever met anyone with the exact same name as you?
Yes. I had just been discharged from the Navy in Great Lakes IL and was at the VA medical center. They called and asked for "Mrs. Chmiel" (which was my maiden name). Of course, I went into the room thinking someone had just misread my record. No big deal. Then the nurse started asking me if I was still taking this medication and that and I explained that I haven't been on any...

What are the small brown bugs in old food in the pantry called? They are in cereals and lot of other stuff.
It could be indian meal moths. They start out as larve and eventually grow into small moths with dark brown markings on their wings. Freezing food doesn't always kill them. It's best to keep all foods covered securely and bomb as needed. They are not easy to get rid of. It takes time and effort to clear them out as their larve can live dormat and does not always respond to bug spray....
Answer to:
Should I take my dog to see the dentist?
Yes. A canine dentist will do a through exam and xrays while the dog is under. It is NOT cheap, but worth the money if you want to care for your dog. My canine dentist found and solved problems my vet would have never found. It was well worth the month I spent.

What should I look for when buying a new juicer?
I chose mine for it's quietness vice any other reason. All juicers will be difficult to clean as there are many parts to it. Mine also has a pulp ejecter. It's a Nutra Source juicer and I've been very pleased with it.
Answer to:
How can I stop my dog from pulling on her leash when we walk?
I found sucess in using a pincher collar. Most see them as inhumane, however, It was recommended because my dog was dominate and stubborn. The pincher collar works differently then a chocker. A chocker cuts off the air flow. A pincher collar doesn't. It "pinches" the dog around the neck to get his attention. Using this with voice commands made my dog one of the best dogs...

Answer to:
Why do dogs wipe their feet on the grass (ie. kick up grass) after they go to the bathroom?
Dogs are territorial and they believe that the "world" belongs to them. After they defecate, they scratch the ground to spread the scent of their feces and tell other dogs that this area belongs to him/her. If you watch a dog, especially one that is dominate, they will urinate and "cover" another dogs urine scent, even in the presence of the previous dog. I had a...
