Nope as long as it's an LED / LCD GREEN low wattage system that has computer ports to hook up too or you have a DVI / HDMI output interface on the desktop to the T.V which should have DVI / HDMI inputs as well, just don't stream movies from the desktop to the T.V since most average desktops...
