Age has nothing to do with paying taxes. If you had enough earnings to be required to pay taxes, then, yes, you do. If you're in doubt, check with the Internal Revenue Service on the amount of money.

I have a very obvious vein on my face and it's not a spider vein. Is there a way to reduce its appearance without using makeup?
I believe there are some over-the-counter preparations that contain Vitamin-K that are used for varicose veins. This would probably work for that. As at the pharmacy in your drug store to be sure.

What safety precautions should you take when indoors during a lightning storm?
Speaking purely from my own experience and what I've been told: Stay away from windows, turn off the computer, don't use the phone or electrical appliances, don't take a bath or shower or use the sink. Don't put anything with an antenna pointing out a window. It's a good idea to have surge protectors on any electrical equipment, too. If your area has a lot of thunderstorms, the library...

I have 5 pets and my HOA says limit is 2. What rights do I have and what they can do? Force me to get rid of my pets?
The best thing you can do is to consult them to find out your options. Many places will let you keep the animals if they are not a nuisance to other home owners. So much depends on the pets - their size, behavior, noisiness and so on. You might be able to pay a monthly fee or put money in an escrow account to cover any damages your pets might do, but you need to find out your rights and...

I am not satisfied with my permed hair. Can I get back my normal straight hair? How long will it take?
You can have it chemically straightened, but it will leave you with damaged hair. Otherwise you just have to wait for it to grow out. Depending on how short you're willing to have it, this could take only a couple months. Hair normally grows about 1/2" per month.

Bought a new construction home in Fl a yr ago as a primary residence. Ended up renting it out instead. Want to sell ASAP and buy in Texas.Bought for 220k and it is now worth 400k. Is there a capital gains tax or any other surprises we can avoid?
Check with the IRS, but I believe that if you buy a new residence within a certain period of time, for a similar amount of money, then you aren't penalized with huge capital gains taxes. But check with the IRS.

My name was added to a deed with other names 6 years ago. It's been primary residence ever since. I was added to the mortgage 2 years ago but have been the sole name on the deed for a few months. Do I owe capital gains?
I could be wrong about this, but you wouldn't have to pay capital gains taxes until you sell the condo. You might have to pay some kind of gift tax, however. You should probably contact an attorney on this one to be sure of your responsibilities.

Answer to:
Can my landlord put his own lock on a shed that I use that's on the property that I'm renting from him? It's not mentioned in the lease.
Check with your local tenants rights organization. Most places I've lived (three different states), the owner can make periodic inspections, but they have to schedule them with the tenant. Have you tried talking to him about this? Did you get the place through a rental agency? If so, they would have their own regulations that both of you have to follow.

In GA, we broke our lease 6 months early because of a job transfer. Our landlord kept our deposit and wants 2 more months of rent. They even rented the place before we moved. Is their request for more money legal?
You need to consult local regulations in the city where you lived. If it's a big city, they probably have a tenants rights organization that could help you. If your company transferred you to a new location, they might be able to take care of it for you.

When same-sex couples marry, does one take the surname of the other?
This isn't something that's dictated by law in most places for any married couple. It would be up to the partners whether to keep their own last names, take one or the other, or to hyphenate, just as for heterosexual marriages.

I have been assigned as an alto in a church choir, but I struggle when it comes to singing alto parts. Is there a way to learn how to sing alto without a voice teacher?
Perhaps your choir master or the accompanist/organist would tape the alto parts for you. Then you could sing along with them until you have learned them and can stay on pitch even with others singing different parts near you. It's not a matter or reading the notes, it's a matter of being able to stay on pitch. This worked for me when I was studying classical voice.

Does Paraguay extradite to the U.S.?
According to another AnswerBag question, http://www.answerbag.com/q_view.php/7231, and all the other sources I found online, it seems apparent that Paraguay does have an extradition treaty with the U.S. Most of the listings show the countries which don't have treaties, since there are far fewer of them.

My right hand will cramp up really bad almost like the nerves are out of control, causing them to almost curl up and not go back straight with pain. Anyone know of the cause?
If your right hand is the hand you use for your mouse, it could be a result of overuse, repetitive stress injury. Also, if you are Norwegian, there is a genetic problem that seems only to affect them, which has symptoms similar to what you describe. Try not using the mouse so much, using the Tab and arrow keys to navigate when possible. Or, if there are other things you do with your right...
Answer to:
What does it mean when you start getting black spots on your mole that stick up?
Any changes in an existing mole should be looked at by a doctor, probably a dermatologist. Changes can be benign, but they can also indicate potential malignancies which are nothing you should ignore. A doctor might remove the mole, but if they do they will also send a tissue sample for biopsy. This will tell them if there is a malignancy or not. Very important to get this looked at.

If you can clear up the sinus or allergy issue causing the post-nasal drainage, that would help. Also, stay away from dairy products before you sing. Drinking tea or lemon and hot water are accepted methods for clearing the throat before singing.

What's a novella?
Novellas have become quite common in genre fiction. They allow a publisher to package several, two to three, new or weak authors with a well-known author. Readers will buy the book for that author but may enjoy any or all of the other authors. The hope is that they will then buy the other authors' books as a result. These novellas are usually between 20,000 and 40,000 words. It's a good...
