Is there anything a woman can wear that is an automatic turnoff for a guy?
Tongue piercings. SO MANY women are getting them, and the instant I see it, I'm looking elsewhere.
Otherwise, not too much else that I would call an automatic turnoff.
Oh, one more thing: missing eyebrows. Women! Please stop plucking them! Unless you have so much that they outweigh your boyfriend, leave them alone! Those markers you use to replace the eyebrows = +20 years to your age.

Who here thinks that McCain would have won the election if he hadn't picked Sarah Palin as his running mate?
If Palin was a factor to any extent, that McCain picked her is as much his own burden as hers. Therefore I can't say that Palin lost it for him. It was a joint effort. The pick for VP is the biggest decision a presidential candidate can make. And McCain was judged by many for that decision. It is an absolute tie.

Why do people watch porn? My theory on porn is: Why watch when you can do? Who agrees with me?
It's physiological. Take porn out of the world, go back a few thousand years, and women were still attracting men with their physical appearance. We learned to judge a woman's fertility by their looks. Millions of years of evolution have refined the visual aspect to where sexual stimulation is achieved simply by looking at form, ie. the body and sex organs. There is, thus a pay off....

I certainly don't like smoke, and when I'm in a vehicle with smokers, they always have asked if it's okay to smoke. The people of hell probably don't use mattresses. Less their beds are burning. Anyway, millions of people do it without ill consequence, myself included. I base my position on what my body is telling me. Since it's not healthy to sleep on just one side, you will naturally turn in your sleep, and that probably includes face-down. I guess you get more points for a "hip" answer than a real answer. Sorry! I just don't get it! Never will! I'm too old I guess. Thanks to all to the friends I've ran across here. I thought it would be nice. But I really do have better things to do!
I would guess that most users here are young adults/teens, and that this site functions more as a social outlet. That's obvious from the nature of questions that pop up every second on the front page. Fortunately, there's plenty of room for "serious" questions and sometimes a really good, helpful answer.

"Tough question to answer but here’s my best shot. It certainly seems possible for two white people to have a black baby even if the baby’s grandparents appear white as well. Even though the genetics behind all of this are really poorly understood, there are lots of stories where white parents have black babies. In fact, one such story may...

Hmm. I'd have no reservations about just pulling the thing out. At the least, I could offer a small caution to the other guests to monitor what they're chewing a little closer. I had a relative who nearly died when he got one stuck in his throat. So, no need to be concerned about how you extricate it. Just take it out.

Ask your bank -ehm- if you don't have a bank, open a checking account. Then ask your bank about opening a secured credit account. You'll be depositing a couple hundred dollars into a savings account that the bank can collect on if you fail to pay on your credit debt. And usually your deposit into that savings account will be your credit line. This will help you build credit and gain...

You can't know if you're on their list. That's not a publicly accessible list. If they made people aware of who was on their list, employers would fire people, attacks would ensue, bedlam would raise up. That would be extremely irresponsible of the government to release that data.

Is it rude to ask a girl if the color of her hair is the natural color of her hair?
While responses will vary, I'd bet most girls will appreciate the interest. Women and hair... Shoes, too. All that superficial stuff they love to go on and on about. A good question to ask is, "Is that your real hair?" And, "Those shoes are a KMart special, aren't they?" They love that kind of interest and will thank you for noticing.

I think it is a challenge to masculinity. A beard or mustache is traditionally regarded as highly masculine. So, shaving legs where for men, legs are not highly sexualized in media and culture, it does seem counter to being masculine.

It has more to do with the market. Playing a sims game with a controller instead of a keyboard is rough. And handling the screen is awkward. Very unlikely. What the employer wants to see is work. College is work. A degree shows that you completed the work. I'm 17 and my boyfriend is 21. We have been seeing each other for 4 months but havent done anything sexually yet. i was wondering if the age difference is to much or if it is illegal just to date? thank you!
Four months. That leaves no more than eight months till you're definitely legal. That's a reasonable time to wait for sex. If he won't wait eight months, then you might want to question his devotion.

You're a lesbian if you are primarily attracted, completely or nearly completely, to women.

If you have sex, then you're sexually active.

That may depend on the laws in your jurisdiction and her particular circumstances. "Move out" may not be a recognized legal term. Is her name on a signed lease? Did she leave any property?
I would strongly advise you to ask an attorney instead of anyone here about this one.

How do you know if the good looking girl that says she is a nice family person isn't really a guy in prison for mass murder or a teenage boy playing with your head?

Just so you know, nothing against gays. How do they get away with parading around half naked at these gay pride parades? If it was a hetero parade we'd probably be thrown in jail for indecent exposure.
It probably depends on the jurisdiction. Some places are more tolerant than others. For the most part, nudity isn't a crime. But there are many exceptions.
Additionally, you can't blame police for not wanting to cause a riot with a bunch of naked flamers. Yuck!
However, this is the first I've heard of gay pride parades being half naked.

I can't say it enough. When dealing with the intolerance of others, just ignore them. Make them feel like they're talking to a wall. This conveys to them that they don't have a chance to change you. Because for as long as they think they do, they won't give up.

Is there a master plan involved by holding out on drilling for oil in our own country? Such as that one day when the reserves dry up around the world, the US will suddenly have the crude monopoly.
"Will lifting oil drilling bans in the U.S. lower the price of oil?
The quick answer on price is no. It will not lower the price of oil at all. The best we can do with aggressive drilling is to tread water where we are. Which my keep the price from rising even more than it would otherwise, but it will not lower it.
Lets look at the figures. If we open everything and give incentives...

Yes. They frequently share mailing lists, garnering people who are charitable and want to give to various causes. I once gave six dollars to a nature fund, and for the next four years received mailings from many related groups. Kinda makes you wonder how much good that six bucks really did when you think about the paper and effort put into those mailings. Which is why donating to charities...

"Finally, why are breasts so important in the sexual life of humans? Why is their size so crucial for sexual self-esteem? Some anthropologists have thus proposed that the swell of female breasts is equivalent to the swollen fertile buttocks of our primate ancestors.

How do Tide sticks know what the stain is on the shirt? Why doesn't it take the colour of the shirt out? Technically the dye in the shirt is a stain, so how does it "know" the difference?
Both textiles and detergents industries work together best they can. Years of research and experiments have helped them to learn what chemicals do what effects to what fabrics. Dyes are manufactured to be resistant to the many "softer" chemicals that prove useful in treating temporary stains.

All kind of atrocities have been committed in the name of religion and in the name of God, yet [some] people get all faced up and ready to fight back whenever the premises of their relgion are scrutinized and questioned. Why is that?
I think it's because they perceive the scrutiny as an attack on their thought system. A thought system is, for most people, integral to their sense of well being, a cushion for the scary experiences in life. The religion probably has nothing to do with the attacks or retributions. But rather simple fear snowballs into that behavior.

What would you do if someone knocked on your door, you answer it,and they either digest or urinate on your front steps, and after they were done, they say "thank you for your time" and walk away?
I would report it to the police and file a charge against him/her. The suspect may also have to be examined for contagious diseases/infections. Hopefully the judge will fine and sentence him/her to community service where cleaning chores are assigned.
Finally, I would file a civil suit to recover the costs of cleanup and sanitization.

What is it about repetitive questions that our brains find so annoying? For example, when the same users ask different versions of the same basic questions, again and again. Why is that annoying? (Just curious, not trying to offend anyone)
In the psychology of torture, repetition is an instrument. The theory is that constant exposure to a similar stimulus over time encourages the brain to amplify the stimulus. That's why the old water drop torture can feel like an axe driving through one's skull over time. The reason for the amplification is due to the process of reinforcement. As organisms, we learn and grow via...

This will happen a lot in life. I think the point is that if you care about someone a great deal, you'll not seek for recognition for your good deed. The reward is in the act, not in the praise or thanks you may or may not get. Do good things for your friends for the right reasons, for the best reasons. Do it for yourself.

In theory, however, many of those dropped connections are intentional and therefore subject to a lawsuit. You're paying for a connection, and yet the company is sharing it with other customers. When they oversell connections, you're not necessarily getting what you pay for.
But that's a huge upward climb. Local service providers are usually not so stingy. Check your phone book.

Why do fictional fast food restaurants on TV and in movies always have their employees wear flamboyant clothing, I've never seen such in real life?
I think the clothing is intentionally designed that way because some images do not translate well on screen compared to real life. On Star Trek, one actor had to drink molasses as a substitute for ale. Where snow is almost...
