If there were any doubt that it's a man's world just look at the GOP race. Perry shows up, Bachmann drops far behind. Fair or life?
I don't think it's about gender, Rosie. I think it is about sanity. I don't really care for Republicans, but if I had to pick Bachmann or Perry, I'd chose Parry, with an "A". I think Bachmann is too egocentric to govern the diversity of this country. She is ok in her own state.

How do you define traditional art versus nontraditional art?
1. I'd say traditional art is art that exists as "true" art. It is art that is accepted in its country or cultural traditions. Example: European art traditions are in oil paintings, sculptures, or architecture that follow the culture's values.
2. Nontraditional art is "outsider" art. It is creative expression that exists out of the cultural norms. For example: folk art.

I do care if the postal service disappears. It is also not about personal letters. If you live in a remote area where there are hardly any services closer than 100 miles, you do need the postal service to bring anything you order through the internet. Where I live we depend on it. I don't think it is.
The use of nudity has a long history. The nude was used for religious purposes, military purposes, in mythology, as a sign of ownership, and many other purposes. It could also have been used to give pleasure to the owner of such a painting, so I can't say it was used to separate the two.

I haven't been around tv for at least 2 weeks so I haven't been keeping up with much except on AB and the computer.
Tornadoes are always devastating. I live in Texas where tornadoes occur in many parts of the state. I've seen what they can do to a town first hand. There is loss all around you. It's shocking. People who survive carry effects of such a thing for many years. It is so darn scary....

Does naming your journal help you write better or is leaving it blank the best for your writing?
I never name my journals. All I have are dates. No telling what will show up in my writing for the day. Naming a journal won't help me write better. And, besides, if you are journaling, you don't pay attention to good or correct writing. You just write your thoughts, however they may be.

Does a politician ever apologize to the opposition when he/she is wrong or does the politician hope no one noticed and "it" will go away?
I think they apologize more today than in years past. They know better and go ahead and do things they know they shouldn't, but think an apology will suffice.
However, if they are running for office, things creep back into the public eye no matter how many times they have apologized.

Don't be intimidated with musical terms. An arpeggio is just a broken chord of Bb, D, F, and Bb, an octave higher. Music lover has a good fingering. I would use a different fingering with my left hand though: 5 -3- 2-1. The fourth finger use is always more difficult.

What does this symbol mean in handbell music + with a line under it?
I looked under handbell music notation, but didn't find a plus with a line under it. I did find the plus sign which means "mallet on suspended handbell." It indicates that a suspended handbell is held by the handle and struck with a mallet. Handbells struck in this manner are generally not damped. However, it might be that the minus under it means you do damp the bell. Sorry, that is all I know.

Just a couple of times when I first started going to museums. I've learned my lesson. I've learned you have to respect museum rules after you find out what they are. Don't touch anything. Don't talk loud. Don't get in front of people when they are looking at an art work. Don't get too close. Some works have a wooded strip of wood on the floor in front of the work, so get behind it.

Ask the principal if there is a privacy policy for students, like businesses have for their customers. Chances are there is some kind of student protection of information. Also tell the teacher your parents don't allow you to give out any personal information, so if they try to force you, they will have to call your parents. Most teachers won't confront parents about that.

Why do so many white people like rap music?
Music transcends the color barrier. It is a matter of taste in what kind of music you enjoy. Music is not created for certain races. It is is a part of a living culture. Look at all the contributions black artists have made: Jazz, World Music, Reggae, Rhythm and Blues, Blues, Rock and Roll, etc. The list is long.

I support the pope, but I don't support your statement that he supports the spread of hiv/aids. He doesn't approve of artificial birth control for Catholics, since we need more Catholics in the world. He also doesn't approve of women or men sleeping with several partners so that they do contact such diseases.

I think you are a little late. The devil tried to test Jesus and he lost. You should read about the temptations of Jesus. He is God and was tested.
Another thing, the early doctors of the church(Catholic Church) have written much using Plato and Aristole's methods in logic to show the god hypothesis. Jesus has been the answer to all the questions.

how many geese would it take to relyably fend off coyotes?
I think a flock would probably do it. Coyotes usually travel in groups and aren't afraid of too many animals. They kill sheep, dogs, people, and anythings they can eat if they are hungry. They are pretty smart also. They would probably get around the edge of a flock of geese and chase a few until they caught them. I would suggest that you get an electric fence.

Catherine Zeta Jones vs Angelina Jolie, Who is better looking? Who is more talented? Why?
Catherine Zeta Jones is definitely better looking that Angelina, but Angelina is also very attractive as far as stars go. Their stylists make them look perfect when they are in public and movies. I don't think Hollywood gives them much of a chance to act because the movies they make are no brainers, so I don't know which is more talented in that department.
Answer to:
Does anyone else think Catherine Zeta-Jones looks part Chinese?
I don't know what part that would be. Breast implant? Botox? Her eyes don't look slanted to me. She looks more European than Asian to me. There may be Asian girls who look like her in China. Most Asian people I've met are from Thailand and they don't look like her.

Who thinks Spielberg made a mistake in not filming Schindler's List in color?
Not I. I think Spielberg was aware of the impact of the story and it's history so he tried to communicate that story including its dreariness. The little girl in red signified blood, probably the blood spilled by all the victims of the Halocaust. If he had used color it would have taken away from its history since black and white film was what was available during that time. Artistically,...

That reminds me of the first time I ever flew. My thought were on going on exciting adventure. While people had told me all about flying, all I could think of was looking out of the plane and seeing all the clouds and watching the scenery below. Therefore try to focus on what you are going to see way up there in the sky. It will be easier than going on a roller coaster ride, that's for sure.

Can you name any one positive thing that any religion has done for the good of all humankind?
I think religion has had many positive effects on people through the ages. It has helped them cope with their world when they didn't have the knowledge to understand why things in their environment happened. They did not even understand how they were different from animals as their lessons first came from studying them. One major thing is that it helped them cope with death of loved ones.

If we should treat animal nice, does this mean that they have a soul?
No, it doesn't mean that. Animal definitely have a spirit, but I haven't it called a soul before. I've heard a priest in a catechism class say that animals do not have souls though. If we treat an animal nice, it is because we choose to do so. Animals do not have choices because they only work through instincts.
What makes us different from animals is that that we can make choices through logic.

Are you tired of the frills in music and the repeating the chorus a million times at the end of a song?
I would if I didn't vary the kinds of music I listen to. Frills in music are good in Baroque music and the music of India. Repetition is part of music, as in Ravel's "Bolero". "One man's drink is another man's poison." Pop music could be written more musically, but it is marketed to people who like that sort of style.

No, I don't. One has many accomplishments to take care of while one is young, therefore youth is needed. For example a baby has to have the parents fall in love with him. Then learning how to use the body, many accidents happen to children while they accomplish that. If they weren't young, the body couldn't repair itself quickly enough. You get my point.

Some of my favorite artists are Edward Hopper, Alex Ross and Norman Rockwell... Who relates? And/or Who do you like?
I like Edward Hopper and Norman Rockwell, but they aren't my favorites. I don't know who Alex Ross is, but I did look him up to see he is an illustrator. As I am studying art, I'm interested in the artists of the early 1900's which include Kandinsky, Malevich, Duchamp, Picasso, Matisse, O'Keeffe, Kahlo, Siqueros, Rivera, Orozco, and then up to Pollock and Andy Warhol.

Should i let my 15 year old daughter attend a party being held in a park where there is no adult supervision and i know there will be alcohol and about 100 people attending?
No, absolutely not. First she is underage to be at a place where alcohol is being served and she isn't with her parents. Second, there are no adults that will be responsible for buying the alcohol so no one is accountable for their actions. Then there are too many people and trouble can occur and it could be dangerous with so many poeple there.
