Everyone talks about soulmates. I am not convenced that there is such a thing. Thoughts?
If you have a relationship that works and you're both happy, then I don't see why it has to carry some sort of label. I don't really think its something that either exists or doesn't, its a concept, it either exists or doesn't exist in your mind.

Glasses Wearers: At what age did you have to start wearing prescription glasses or contact lenses? Have you considered Lasik-Laser type surgery?
I guess I was 12 or 13, maybe 14, somewhere in there. I wore glasses for near sightedness. In general, I didn't like how the glasses looked, so I would only wear them when I had to to see the board in class. When I was 15 I got contact lenses, and wore them for a few years. I don't wear them too often anymore. I just have the glasses for driving or for seeing things from far away,...

Look, I'm not giving an opinion, because I'm not sure what happened, but if you haven't read into some of this, you should, I can't say I walked away convinced that it didn't happen, but I can't say I didn't see it as impossible that it was staged.

I depise myself most of the time. I don't know how to "be me" anymore around people who love me the most. I feel like I'm loosing part of me since so many people have deserted me lately. What can I do to make me "me" again?
A new wardrobe can help you form a new identity, its certainly not going to do everything but it can help, that's what helped me after high school, when I was depressed and confused about my identity. I think the trap you can fall into though is the possibility of the clothes defining you. Just try to be a well balanced person, rediscover your interests and carve out an identity for yourself.

Do you think that increasing the number of offenses that are eligible for the death penelty is an effective tool for reducing crime and whos view do you think it reflects: public or individual-rights advocates.
That's tough for me, honestly. I'm not completely opposed to the death penalty. Studies have shown that the death penalty has done little to reduce crime, and I've always thought that that was because the death penalty was reserved for the worst sickos, the people who commit the most heinous crimes who aren't going to be deterred by capital punishment. Over a year ago, my husband had strippers at his bachelor party, they were supposed to be bartenders only but they gave him lap dances. After the party he went to the joint the girls worked at. I have had so much trouble getting over this - any advice?
I guess my advice would to try not to take it personally. This really isn't an uncommon thing, this is the kind of things that happen at typical bachelor parties. But I think you have to be honest with yourself and your feeling and him, and see if you can make it work.

I guess so. One of my friends told me she had a crush on a teacher, but she had a new crush practically every week. So, I didn't take it too seriously. A few others said they did too but I think it was just a game.

What would you do, if you walked your bedroom and caught your S/O in the act of cheating on you?
I think you would pretty much have to sit down and talk to them about it once things cooled down, certainly not right then, you'd have to wait at least a day for things to cool down. Then I think I would want to sit down with them, and ask them questions, tell them to be honest about what was going on, and try to decide what happens from here. Yes, pretty much 100% of the time. I don't think I have ever lost my temper in a public/social situation. I can remain polite and composed no matter how much I'm getting beat down at the time. Does this seem like a good reason to quit? My co-worker said she left because "I was too quiet", so she didn't enjoy working with me. I wasn't being rude, I'm just an introverted person.
I'm pretty introverted and quiet in general and especially at work. Honestly, I try to be professional, but I think some see me as aloof. I'm always obedient and nice to them though so I don't know what the problem is. To quit, though, that's a little extreme. And immature as hell if they didn't have an offer somewhere else before quitting the job.

Would you consult AB on a life changing decision?
Like others have said, I think if you're making a big decision its good to have as many points of view as you can. Asking online anonymously can help you get answers from people who are not connected to you and the situation, so that can get you some perspectives you couldn't get from your family and friends.

I had a dream last night that I broke up with my Boyfriend because I found him with one of my friends. What does this mean? Because he doesnt cheat and it hasnt happened with the person he was with in the dream.
Insecurity I would think. I think a certain degree of insecurity is normal in any relationship. You could also potentially be suspicious of the friend, but not necessarily. I think in dreams a lot of times different thoughts can get mixed together, sometimes having nothing to do with one another, just something you happened to be thinking about at the same time.

Its a vicious circle. I remember I had a pretty good friendship with this girl from 1st-4th grade. Then she moved away, and I met this other girl, and we hit it off pretty well at first, but she had some issues going on in her life, and basically took it out on me, physically and emotionally bullying me nearly to the point of torture, where I really think I started to lose my innocence, I think...

I am the "perfect girlfriend", doing any and everything i can to please my BF, accept the unacceptable hide my tears("cause its not that bad") & have always been treated like less that nothing. Why do i feel guilty when my new BF treats me like a queen?
Probably low self confidence. I mean, I'm not one to talk, I have low self confidence to the point of nearly hating myself sometimes, but I know what you mean, I will do pretty much anything for people yet feel guilty when people go out of their way to help me. It makes me uncomfortable, I'm just more comfortable being the one that helps, rather than the one being helped. Try not to...

Ladies: if you were a man... how do you think you would wear your shirt & necktie? (A) Would you wear your shirt fully buttoned up and your tie snuggly knotted to your chin. OR- (B) Wear your shirt with the top button undone and the necktie hanging loose.
I'm not sure. I actually wear a button-down shirt/blouse and a blazer a lot, and, depending on how formal I want it to be, I'll either wear it with the blazer buttoned and the shirt collar popped or the blazer open. Like I say I guess that's kind of the suit for women, without the tie. I think if I was wearing a tie I would want it pretty tight, I mean, if I were just going to...

What would you advise to wear for a job interview at JC Penny? I've worked at higher end department stores before and always wore a black suit, but Penny's is substantially more casual. I usually go based on what the employees wear, but what do you think?
Maybe instead of a suit, wear suit separates, A different color blazer/jacket and a different color pants/skirt. It can soften it a little bit but still look professional. Maybe like a white blazer, with a red blouse, and black slacks or skirt.

A hospital in Ohio is saying that they will no longer hire employees that are smokers...the smokers are saying that's discrimination...do you agree or disagree?
The hospital should be able to set its own rules for its employees. Anti-discrimination employment laws are pretty much useless, given that there are many, many ways that employers can and do get around them. From a practical standpoint, hiring a smoker is going to jack up the cost of their health insurance, which I would imagine the hospital would have to pay as part of their benefits package.

To suggest that people are perfect or imperfect suggests that there is some sort of universal standards that make a person perfect. Perfection is a subjective concept. I hear people say all the time, "Well, we're not perfect, but we're perfect for each other." Guess what, that's all there is, an opinion.

How do you feel about the impact that the production of ethanol fuel will have on the rising cost of food? Basically are you willing to pay a higher price to eat versus the "green" thing?
We have little choice but to gradually take steps toward moving to alternative energy. I mean, forget the environmentalists and the "green" concept, I know a lot of people don't like that, but eventually, fossil fuels are going to run out. And if we aren't prepared we're really going to be stung. We really should have been researching alternative energy more years ago....

Regardless of rhetoric, there will be very few if any major healthcare reforms during the next Presidents' first term because of the deficit, the continuing cost of the war, etc. Clinton ran into a similar roadblock when he came in after the 1992 election. How does the recent news of three female suicide bombers killing fellow muslims equate with the notion of Islam being a 'religion of peace'.
There have been radicals in every religion, people throughout history who have twisted religious text, which is pretty easy to do, given how much it has been translated and retranslated, to gain control over people.
The problem isn't with the religion itself. I see people who try to look at passages in the Koran or whatever, passages that are pretty violent and say, you know, this is...
