Not including cooked food, do you ever make homemade food at home that you can easily buy at the store? E.g. pickles, jam, applesauce, etc. My parents and in-laws both garden and can food. My belief is that as we get older, we want to grow and nurture so we garden. Canning comes from the days of the depression and tough times. I will tell you, my wife's pickles are the best that I have ever had and her brother concurs.

Why do we condemn the poor for being poor? I believe there are two reasons. One is that they are not like those who are not poor which makes it difficult for others to relate. The other reason, which I do not agree with, is that some believe the poor want to be poor or don't want to work. Prejudice. It pisses me off but I think globally and act locally.

When was the first time you realized that you enjoyed the taste of beer? I couldn't stand it when I was in high school. I drank "lite" beer from 18 (I'm old) until my mid thirties. I believe that a person's taste buds lose sensitivity and this is when I began drinking the "good" stuff. Plus one gets more bang for the buck.

If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen. In other words, give up your insecurity and accept that everything won't be funny. If not, make fun of yourself for saying it. Eventually you will find a rhythm but you have to put yourself out there to get there.
