Answer to:
My dog is on Panacur Suspension 10%, it is causing her to vomit. Can I give her something to sooth her stomach?
Given that Panacur is a highly potent chemical, it's not surprising that it's making her vomit.
So, why would you want to visit a vet who is only going to prescribe yet more chemicals, with yet more side-effects?
You'd be better cutting out the chemicals and using an herbal anti-parasitic instead - just as effective, but zero side-effects! Try FourGuard.
Answer to:
Can I buy Parvaid at the pet store?
As Marina says, you can buy it at many independent stores, but you need to be aware that they may not know anything about treating Parvo at home, so you probably won't get any support, especially outside of regular business hours.
I have to say too that the information that comes with the product is very confusing, with several conflicting sets of dosage information - which are different again...

Answer to:
Hi for a week now I have had the worst headache of my life , my left eye loses vision and waters badly and is hard to open, I get confused and sometimes get numbness, what could this be, also I have vomited a couple of times, what should I do.
It sounds like it could be a migraine, although I'm sure there are other possible causes.
Either way, if you have this for that long, you should see somebody immediately (e.g. a doctor, herbalist).
Answer to:
Why aren't you already a vegetarian?
Because humans are omnivores.
Because I like the taste of meat.
Because I"m not that keen on many vegetables.
Because many of the vegetarians I've seen always look pasty-faced and anaemic, and are certainly no advert for vegetarianism.

I always set my music players (e.g. iPod, mobile phone) to play music at random, from many different categories (e.g. classical, rock, pop, reggae, musicals, instrumentals, soul, blues, country), as I like most styles of music (except rap), and prefer to be surprise at what plays next.

A loanword is a word directly taken into one language from another with little or no translation, example the French word 'entrepreneur.' Do you know any others?
The French have (perhaps unofficially) taken in:
le shampooing
le weekend

probably much to the dismay of the Academie Francaise.
English has a lot of such words, largely as a result of its former "empire", so words from India such as:
jodhpurs
chukka
and many more.

I wouldn't worry about it - I get crazy dreams sometimes, and if there's one thing of which I am certain, it's that I'm not pregnant, so I can't blame it on that.

Why do humans have two nostrils when we only have one nose?
I suspect it's a remnant of our animal backgrounds, where two nostrils would allow you to detect the source of a scent better than one nostril would, just as two eyes gives us a better sense of vision in terms of depth and perspective, and two ears also allows us to determine the source of a sound by the slight difference in the air reaching our two ear drums at different times.

Some smaller breeds have protruding eyes, which causes their tear ducts, which usually connect the corner of the eye to their nose, to become blocked, so the tears then run down the face, often causing tear stains.

There are many causes of a dog having diarrhea, from the mild, one-time bout to the very serious, such as Parvo.
So, while waiting to see what happens is an option, the latest 2c strain of Parvo is killing some dogs in less than 12 hours after the first symptoms appear, which is way too fast for a "wait and see" approach.

Do dogs really need to have booster injections?
No, they are mainly unnecessary as vaccines last a lot longer (seven years to life) than vets let on.
Also, vaccinations weaken a dog's immune system, and can cause other issues such as chronic inflammation, which in turn causes things like arthritis and cancer.

How legitimate can history be if every document that has ever been written has some bias behind its writing? How certain can we be certain that the "history" we are taught actually happened?
This reminds me of the following quote, although I'm not sure who said it:

Are people brainwashing their children when forcing them to go to church at a young at before they have the critical thinking skills to form their own opinions of what they believe in?
Yes, they certainly are, and I've been trying to get this message across for years.
As I understand it, the god that these people worship (and I'm talking mainly about Christians here) apparently gave us free will, but it appears that some people don't want their own children to enjoy this right.
As Richard Dawkins says, there are no such thing as religious children, only...

I don't worship any god(s), given that I'm an atheist.

When I download a pdf file I see it immediately with a pdf reader. However when I "X" out, the file disappears and I can't seem to find it again with Windows Explorer search-- how can I control where these downloads reside? (XP version)Thanks
If you open the PDF within your web browser, then the only copy that would exist would probably be within your Internet Cache folders.
You would therefore need to save a copy from within the PDF reader, or alternatively, right click the PDF in the web browser and save it to your hard drive first, and then open it up.

No, and I doubt anybody else does either. If proof existed, it would be the biggest news in the world, but so far, nobody's come forward with this proof.

Opening a bottle of Champagne......easy or hard for you?
Mainly easy, although you do come across the occasional obstinate cork.
However, it's even easier to open the champagne the wrong way - by letting the cork fly off over the room.
Correctly opened, it takes a bit of finesse, but you don't waste any champagne that way, and you don't have to worry about breaking stuff.

It seems to me that you can do what you want in the way of sinning, then pop along to the RC church once a week, confess, get absolution, and continue on as you were.
I've probably misunderstood what confession is all about, but it seems awfully easy to me.

I heard anti-depressants cause weight gain. I asked my doctor and she said the only thing that causes weight gain is what you put in here (pointing to her mouth). Which is true?
Different drugs can affect your metabolic rate (i.e. the rate at which your body burns up its fuel).
So, it's entirely possible that changing from one prescription to another could cause weight gain (or loss).
This is why so many people who give up smoking put on weight (notwithstanding the fact that some also start eating sweets and candies as a displacement activity).

My mom is upset that I'm not mourning my father, who died last night. She was abused by him for years, and he made my life a living hell in childhood. I feel bad that I don't feel grief! But; why am I the unfeeling monster!?
You're no monster.
Children aren't duty-bound to love or respect their parents - they have to earn it, just like anybody else.
So if your father didn't respect you (or your mother) and made your life hell, why should you mourn his passing?

I would seriously recommend only wearing them when you have to, and checking out more natural forms of eye correction.

Why is it that mothers and daughters often don't get on (I know that many do, but so many can't stand each other!)?
I think many parents and children of the same gender don't get along because the parents try to re-live the lives they wished they'd led through their children, rather than letting their kids live their own lives the way they want to.
This will inevitably lead to different choices being made, which can and obviously do cause conflict.
Also, parents try to prevent their children...

Do you think religions deserve the amount of respect society demands they receive?
Religions are the ones that demand respect, not society, but they do little, as organised bodies, to deserve it.
They propagate themselves largely by indoctrinating children before they are old enough to make up their own mind about what they really believe in.
They have a history of hypocrisy - preaching love and tolerance while at the same time torturing and killing people who dared to...

Did your parents spank you? If so, are you grateful or resentful?
Yes, they spanked me occasionally, and I don't think I'm grateful or resentful - I did something I was told not to do, and that was the consequence.
People need to learn that they must take responsibility for their own actions, and everything in life has a consequence. If you know about that consequence in advance and it then happens to you, you can hardly complain.

I am single with no children. Most women are shocked to know I have no kids and want to rush me into a relationship with some random woman to a have a few. What is the big rush?
The biological clock ticks more for women than men.
All of a woman's eggs are created in one big batch, and then released over time, getting older as time progresses.
Men, on the other hand, are capable of creating sperm for most of their life.
I'm not sure if there is any available research, but this would suggest that the older women are when they have children, the more...

What if you place 1000 marbles in a jar, each with a distinct number from 1 to 1000, never using the same digit twice. What is the probability that if you select one at random it will have the digit 3?
This is simply a question of counting how many of the numbers from 1 to 1,000 inclusive have at least one 3 in them somewhere, and then converting that to a percentage.
Once you've counted how many 3's there are in the range 1 - 100, then you can multiply that out for the other sets of 100 numbers, remembering that the range 300 - 399 has a 3 in every single number.

I've read somewhere, a long time ago, that it takes more energy to recycle products than it does to create new ones.
However, not recycling doesn't address the conservation of raw materials issues.
Ultimately, though, I think a lot of the recycling arguments and practices are...

Why is it so hard to shut down puppy mills?
I'm guessing that with the huge numbers of puppies they create and the fact that they try to do everything on the cheap, it's really hard to stop because many people will do whatever they can to spend as little as possible, even if that means allowing these places to continue.

Not at all. I contemplated suicide many times, and did a lot of research, but in the end lacked the necessary something (courage, conviction, who knows?) to go through with it.
But it's certainly not our place to judge others, especially when we don't know all of the facts.

Have you ever watched a 3D movie in a theater? Which movie?
Yes, I saw Captain EO, starring Michael Jackson, I believe, at Disney Land in 1988.
The 3D was very effective, but the sound track was way too loud. They said this was necessary to enhance the 3D effect, but I think that was just an excuse to play loud music.

Deuteronomy 4:2 states "You shall not add to the word which I am commanding you, nor take away from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you." Doesn't this mean that the whole NT is a violation of Gods commandment?
Not if you take the stance that there is no god and that the bible is therefore a collection of mainly mythical and legendary stories collated by various people over a long period of time.

Yes, definitely, and not just spelling but grammar, sentence construction, and I think even the ability to express yourself verbally too.

How Predjudiced is America
America may be a place, but places do have cultures, and they therefore can have biases, etc.
There is, according to my observations, a very strong prejudice against non-Christians, including atheists, which is bizarre for a country which officially has no state religion.
However, it's dangerous to generalize, because not all Americans feel or think the same, obviously.

I think it should be based on ability and aptitude, as there are some young drivers who are technically and mentally far more fit to drive than much older people (and vice versa).
There should clearly still be some minimum age, however, and I would suggest that many countries have their age set too low.

I've been an atheist since my mid-teens, not that I was ever a real believer - I just went with what I was taught, which is what I suspect happens with most people.
However, I questioned things, came to the conclusion that there was almost no proof that god or anything else actually existed, realised that you have to take responsibility for your own life and actions, and became a...

Moobaa, I'm a man, and therefore cannot possibly comprehend what this must feel like.
However, you can cry on my shoulder anytime you like, and if you want, let me pass on a little bit of learning I've gained in life, which may not seem to be of much help right now, but maybe in the future?

Encouragement: How do you give it?
Whatever you say or do, it has to be done with sincerity.
In any situation, there is usually something you can find to praise, so go with that.
It's also better, in my experience, to not make it just a platitude but to include some element of challenge in there - it just has to be a challenge that is attainable without too much effort so that people don't get discourage, so...

School taught me how to play various games (e.g. rugby, cricket, hockey, fives, Rossall hockey).
My father tried to educate me about cricket, but I'd rather watch paint dry, to be honest.

If you take into account the confidence level (i.e. an estimate of how accurate the score is likely to be), then it could well be that Sarah Palin has a higher score than Obama.
If these scores are measured on the most popular system, where 100 is the average score and about 150 is the entry level for Mensa, then they're both clearly above average intelligence, but you need to bear in...

I find it hard to say no to people even tho its putting me out! what is a nice way to tell someone you dnt want to do something?
Yes, it is hard to say "no" to people sometimes, but one of the key things to remember is that you don't need to justify or explain your answer.
Once you start doing this, people will start arguing against your reasons, whereas if you simply say "no", and repeat it as often as possible, they can't use this tactic on you.
I hope this helps.

My big issue with the death penalty is this: supposing that it turns out that criminals are genetically driven to do what they do - i.e. it really isn't their fault?

I think there are a number of factors that causing people to appear dumber:
1. So-called educational experts fooling around with teaching methods, at the expense of children.

I'd much rather be remembered for being a nice / kind person when I'm gone than for being a rich person.

"Get tough on crime" has increased the US prison population to seven times its 1975 level. One in 100 Americans adults is now locked up. Is this a good thing for society? Is this a good thing for the economy?
I certainly believe that people who are not prepared to live by society's rules should not be allowed to enjoy the privileges afforded by being part of that society.
However, it's clearly not a good economic move, as the cost of maintaining these people in prison is massive.
I still think prisoners should be made to work at something that is useful for society at large and help...

Is there an adult in your life that you deal with on a regular basis, that whines when they talk?
Fortunately, no. These days, I deal with a very small number of people on a regular basis - my wife, the occasional delivery person, and maybe a supplier. Other than that, most of the people I talk to are customers and potential customers, and much of these conversations are one-time deals.
Still, I hate whiners nonetheless, and used to work with many such people back in England when I had...

I'm not an American. Could someone summarise the differences between Obama and McCain?
Nor am I, although I live there now, so here are two answers, both of which are somewhat glib and facetious:
1. Obama is basically a Democrat, or left-wing, while McCain is basically a Republican, or right-wing.
2. There are no differences - they're both politicians, which is all you need to know about them.

I question the credibility of all politicians purely because they are politicians.

As a general rule, I would suggest that the younger you are when you marry, the less chance there is of it working out.

Generally, I think it's a bad thing.

No, I don't enjoy dancing (of any type) and it's not me, so I've never overestimated my ability in this area.

What's the theme song to your life?
It used to be "Road To Nowhere" by Talking Heads when I got stuck in my first marriage, followed by "I Want To Break Free" by Queen / Freddie Mercury, but now, after the divorce and on my second and current marriage, I'd have to go with "Only You" by The Platters.

How paranoid are you about germs?
More than I used to be, thanks to my wife, although I do think the modern paranoia about germs can be dangerous as trying to lead too sterile a life can be harmful if you end up not developing immunity to some of what's present in the environment everywhere.
I'm pretty sure that's one reason we see more kids with allergies these days (as well as the chemicals in the foods, of...

What sport or physical activity do you do and how often?
Almost none, other than a weekly walk to our mail box, which is half a mile away, with one of our dogs, and an even rarer walk on our treadmill, when we can get to it for all the junk in our AZ room and when we have the time.

Do you or have you ever listened to Punk music, if so which bands?
I was never a fan of any particular band, but liked some of several, including The Stranglers and The Jam. I guess my favourite song, which I suppose was punk rock, was "Ca Plane Pour Moi" by Plastic Bertrand.

My dog is like the neighbourhood watch!!, how nosey is your dog/s?
Our seven dogs make great guard dogs, barking at the first sign of anybody approaching our house.
Unfortunately, they're a little over-sensitive, barking at passing traffic, even though we're about 600 feet from the road, so it's a good job it's not a very busy road.

Although Michael Jackson has had a lot of bad press he is still one of the greastest artists of all time, do you agree or disagree?
I never really understood why he became so popular or famous in the first place. To me, and call me a heretic, there is nothing particularly brilliant about his work at all.

As we haven't heard a lot from him since biblical days is it possible that God is dead or merely hiding?
Whether people have talked to / heard from god recently or not does nothing to prove god's existence.
Why is it that people who claim to talk with god are still deemed to be sane, and yet the insane asylums are full of other people who claim to talk with other less socially-acceptable non-existent entities?

Does anyone have any theories on how many people are in hell? I've looked up birth and death rates but the figures only go so far back.
If you're talking about how many people are in a living hell, then far too many.
If you're talking about the classic definition of hell, then zero, as I don't believe it (or heaven) exists.

Should every citizen of Planet Earth be granted a basic human right: not to be made to bear arms against their will under any circumstances?
Is it the bearing arms that's the problem, or being made to kill other people (or animals)?
And a question that's bothered me for a long time - if one of the Ten Commandments is "Thou shalt not kill", then why do any Christians join the armed forces, when they have to expect that, at some stage, they may be required to kill somebody?

Imagine that your ex-partner is still in love with you even though you have firmly ended the relationship. Would you consider accepting an offer from them for no-strings-attached sex?
Absolutely not - my ex-wife tried this tactic while we were in the throes of divorce and we were still living in separate parts of the same house, and it took no effort at all to resist her advances as too much pain had been caused by then.

The ones in Tremors, as this movie was set on Earth in current times, so this could, in theory, happen here, whereas Dune is set in the far future on a different planet, so it's just more removed from being a possible reality.

1. Cry if you want to, as bottling it up won't do you any good at all.
2. Read up about lung cancer as much as you can so you can understand all of the issues involved.
3. Try to keep her away from chemical-based treatments, as they can be very harsh.
4. Talk to your friend and find out how she wants to deal with, and then respect those wishes. That way, you'll be helping...
