Sounds like your glow plugs are on the way out. Glow plugs in some diesal cars/ vans/trucks etc, heat up, so when you start the engine, they ignite the fuel forcing the motor to start, similar to spark plugs in cars. Just follow the hose from the master to the bell housing below the car. It will go into the slave cylinder. On the slave cylinder, you will see a nut that has what looks like a little tube and ball attatched to it. That is your bleeder valve. You really need two people to bleed the system.

The only thing I can think of, is perhaps one of the hoses has a pin prick hole in it but you should be able to tell that very quickly by seeing a leak. Have you ever bleed a clutch or brake before? I would say, that you have the trim too high. There should be a pin that you remove and slot into, that holds the motor so far from the mount. There should be about 5-6 holes that you can slot the pin into. Try half way!
