I check all my Personal Messages, Rosie, regardless of whom they are from. As a Community Leader, I keep myself open to all members, regardless of who they are or how new they may be to me. I'll check profiles and such only if the situation calls for it. Like if someone sends me spam or such....

Well, there are several reasons. One is that they don't understand the difference, having never paid that much attention to this during their English lessons in school. Another may be that English isn't the person's first language. I would hate to have any of my German, Spanish, or Italian...

This would be true, Shunyata, if everybody believed and behaved accordingly. However, not everybody does. There are times when violence IS called for, whether we like it or not. Why? Because there are those for whom violence is a way of life. And sometimes circumstances conspire to corner us...
