There have always been people here who have posted answers to some of their own questions, for one reason or another. At least, for as long as I've been here, and that's been about 4 years now. And older members have confirmed this, as well.
One was to allow them to expound on the details of their own question...another was to post their own answer so people could understand their stand on...

In this case, a "sheet" does not refer to a "sail". It refers to the ropes or chains on the lower corners of the sails that hold them in place. "Three sheets" would indicate an unbalanced condition...sails require these particular ropes in pairs or the sails flap about uselessly.

My wife's desktop (which I'm no now) was bought Vista compatable...but I told my wife that XP should serve all her needs quite well and trying to upgrade to Vista would be both a waste of time and an invitation to inevitable problems (though possibly minor) while upgrading.

I tried to look this up on an auto parts website, assuming you mean the door lock by "door cylinder". I couldn't find it.
If you do the job yourself, I can't imagine it costing more than a few dollars if you were to go to a junk yard and get the part yourself and install it.

They may still be there, Lucky. There's an annoying bug which occasionally pops up, which I call the "disappearing comments bug" (original, I know!).
Comments affected by this bug are still there and can be "forced" to reappear by simply posting another comment to that answer. Then you can go back and edit your latest comment as you see fit.

Depends on where the leak is at.
If it's from the transmission pan, take it into the shop and have the transmission fluid and filter changed. This is done through the transmission pan, and they will replace the gasket when they do this work.
(Most people don't have their transmission serviced regularly anyway. Check your owners manual for the maintenance cycle for your transmission.)

That's a difficult one.
The problem here is the summer time. In winter time, you can easily get by with lots of blankets and such. However, an uninsulated structure like a garage becomes an oven in the summer, and cooling that without a decent, real, insulation job is neigh impossible and attempting to do so will be extremely expensive using air conditioning of some kind.

Sounds like you're alternator isn't putting out what it should in order to charge the battery or maintain the electrical system.
It should be putting out around 13.8 Volts DC with the car running...check this across the battery terminals.
If you aren't getting about that (it HAS to be more than the 12 VDC you should be measuring across the battery with the car off) then have the alternator...
