You can join social clubs, go to sporting events, church groups, hobby enthusiasts...the idea is to find people with whom you have things in common. There must be online services as well--for specific interests. Hope things work out for you.

Every time I go to the Yankee stadium, they do the 7th inning stretch. They sing "Take me out to the Ballgame" and sometimes "Cotton Eye Joe". I remember last year when I was at the all-star game, they even had a 14th inning stretch. Now THAT was a long game!
