Do you have a good engine to chassis ground? Did you test your battery?

Answer to I have a 2001 Dodge neon ES. Sometimes when I try to start my engine, I turn the key, but nothing happens. All the idiot lights are bright on my instrument panel and I don't see a load on my battery, but the engine won't try to crank over. BAD STARTER?

I turned the key 3 times... nothing. The forth time... turned over and started. One week later I turned the key and to my suprise.. nothing. Two more times... nothing. The next try... it started. It has been fine since, but I want to nip this in the bud right away. Again, I appreciate all...

I am thinking it might be a bad starter or solinoid. Please give me any other advice or help. It is really appreciated. Thank you all.

It sounds like your brake power booster isn't holding up. You probably have to either rebuild or get a new one. Good luck.

You could also have a clogged fuel filter.

Try checking your relays.

Neons are great. I have never heard of them having head problems though. Try testing your coil. That would be the first thing I would do just like the others said. Pull a plug and turn it over and see if you have any spark. If thats not the problem chech to be sure you have a good engine to...
